Concrete Genie is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by PixelOpus, a developer part of SIE Worldwide Studios, for the PlayStation 4. The game was announced at Sony's PlayStation Media Showcase at Paris Games Week 2017 on October 30, 2017. Creative director Dominic Robillard says the game is heavily inspired by Sega's Jet Set Radio The story takes place in a small town named Denska, which has been mostly abandoned and polluted. A young boy named Ash regularly doodles in his notebook. A group of bullies steals the book, rips out the pages and scatters them throughout the city. Ash goes on a quest to recover his pages. Along this quest, he discovers a paint brush that can turn his creations to life. Ash must overcome the bullies and bring life back to his hometown. The player controls Ash and uses the DualShock 4's motion controls to create landscapes in the town of Denska. These landscapes turn into living portraits. How you paint creatures and what color you paint them will affect their personalities. For example, red paint will grant a creature fire-breathing abilities. In addition to free-style drawing, there is a set of core puzzles in the game that the player will have to solve through their artwork. The player will be able to gain access more of Denska over time, but at the start of the game, the player will only have access to a single neighborhood. Throughout the game, the bullies will move through the town and cause the artwork to die. They can also bully Ash, so the player must avoid the bullies as Ash traverse the town. The player can also fix the ruined artwork. Project manager Brent Gocke says the game will be between five and six hours long. The developer is currently looking into a multi-player component to the game.

Steep is an extreme sports video game developed by Ubisoft Annecy and published by Ubisoft. It was released worldwide on 2 December 2016 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A version for the Nintendo Switch was originally in development prior to the console's launch, but it was confirmed that development ceased for the platform in August 2018. The game places a great emphasis on online multiplayer, focusing on competing in various winter sporting challenges with other players online. Steep is an extreme sports game set in an open world environment of the Alps and Denali (formerly known as Mount McKinley), which can be explored freely by the players.[1] The game can be played from either a first-person or third-person perspective, which can be switched instantly at players' will. The game also utilizes the GoProcamera during races. The four main activities available in the game include skiing, wingsuit flying, snowboarding and paragliding. Players can switch between these activities by using the game's menu wheel. On 12 January 2017, a version of the game for Nintendo Switch was announced.[23] In June, at E3 2017, Ubisoft announced that a Winter Olympics expansion, Steep: Road to the Olympics, would be released on 5 December 2017.[24] The Switch version is still without a release date, though Ubisoft reaffirmed the game's release on the platform in October 2017, while conceding that the company's priority for 2017 was to finish and release the Road to the Olympics expansion on other platforms first. Despite reaffirmation, on August 9, 2018, the official Steep Twitter announced that development ceased on the Nintendo Switch port of the game to focus on bringing new content to the other platforms.

Starting quite small, Oliver Eberlei secured a leftover area of 40 m² through hearsay shortly before gamescom in 2013. He decided to take the risky challenge to find nine other teams crazy enough to prepare something for the world’s largest consumer event in games. Together with his friend Sven he built a wooden arcade wall in his garden - completely selfmade. An important part of the team from the beginning was Wolf Lang and his game studio Threaks. Wolf is using his networking skills to secure funding, and manages the booth business-wise. Talented artists at Threaks take good care of prints and booklets every year. The INDIE ARENA BOOTH continued to bring indies to the gamescom - and took the next leap to 300 m² in 2015. Expanding the team to streamline the workflow, adding members for marketing, PR, design and project management became necessary quite fast. A force of amazing volunteers functions as the backbone of the booth - this year the team has the help of about 100 enthusiasts to lend a hand! While gamescom is our most important highlight of the year, the INDIE ARENA BOOTH hype train takes two additional stops this year: at Dokomi (Düsseldorf, May 2018) and MAG (Erfurt, October 2018).

The game features a nonlinear story, that follows the unnamed player character as they go to become a racing icon in the United States by winning in all racing disciplines available in the game. There are four disciplines: Street Racing, Off Road, Freestyle and Pro Racing. In Street Racing, the player is assisted by Latrell. In Off Road, the player is assisted by Tucker "Tuck" Morgan. In Freestyle, the player is assisted by Sofia and her father. In Pro Racing, the player is assisted by Alexis. As the game features a variety of vehicles, Ivory Tower also needed to improve the game's graphics. According to the game's producer, Stephane Jankowski, these new types of vehicles allow players to explore the open world with new perspectives. For instance, flying a plane means that players can see objects that are very far away. As a result, the engine had to be modified to significantly improve the game's draw distance. The engine was also updated to include other enhancements, such as atmospheric clouds and realistic vegetation The game's control was designed to be accessible but "hard to master".
