CGR Undertow - QUAKE Review for PC

      by CGRundertow (5/13/13) 4 views

Quake review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Quake for PC developed by id Software and published by Gt Interactive. Quake was developed by id software, and released by GT Interactive in 1996. It was one of the very first true 3D first person shooters, and would go on to usher in the era of muliplayer first person shooting. This game led to the development of Team Fortress, and created many multiplayer moves such as rocket jumping. In order to get this game to work on a modern computer, one must either use dos box or a source port. I have found that Quake works best with the source port Darkplaces, it allows you to set modern controls and also have Quake run in 1080p. This video review features video gameplay footage of Quake for PC and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Jon.

Trine 2: Director's Cut review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Trine 2: Director's Cut on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U developed and published by Frozenbyte. Trine 2: Director's Cut is a magical platformer with some truly stunning graphics on the Wii U. Playing as a trio of characters, players travel through a fairytale world of lush forests and glistening waters. And goblins, too. Trine 2: Director's Cut is a very clever puzzle-platformer in which swapping between your three characters and utilizing their unique abilities is paramount. The game's graphics tend to steal the show, but Trine 2: Director's Cut sticks with you thanks to its excellent gameplay. The Wii U version features extra content, including exclusive levels. This video review features video gameplay footage of Trine 2: Director's Cut on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

CGR Undertow - THE SIMS 2 Review for Nintendo DS

The Sims 2 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of The Sims 2 for the Nintendo DS developed by Griptonite Games and published by Electronic Arts. Electronic Arts deserves credit for The Sims 2 on the Nintendo DS. Rather than make it a watered down version of the console game, they actually released something unique to the platform. The Sims 2 is still very much a Sims game, but it also feels a bit more linear and streamlined. Your Sim ends up in Strangetown, where a hotel is losing business and on the brink of closing. Because this is a video game, you're charged with fixing it up. The Sims 2 is like a Sims game meets hotel simulator. Please your guests, earn money, chase away aliens—the basics of hospitality. This video review features video gameplay footage of The Sims 2 for the Nintendo DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

CGR Undertow - HERETIC Review for PC

Heretic review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Heretic for PC developed by Raven Software and published by id Software. Heretic was developed by Raven Software and published by id Software in 1994. This game has more or less the same gameplay as Doom, but introduced a few enhancements of its own. Now you have an inventory, with numerous useful inventory items. The levels are now longer and more complex, and there is more to do in them. In order to get this game to run on a modern computer, one must either have Dos box or a source port. I recommend the source port GZDoom as it allows one to have better lighting and a higher screen resolution. This video review features video gameplay footage of Heretic for PC and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Jon Lotz .

Mario Tennis: Power Tour review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Mario Tennis: Power Tour for the Game Boy Advance developed by Camelot and published by Nintendo. Mario Tennis: Power Tour is a Mario sports game. With that label comes expectations, but to their credit, Camelot tried something very different. Unlike Mario Power Tennis for the GameCube, Mario Tennis: Power Tour is primarily a single-player-focused game on the Game Boy Advance. In fact, it built from RPG elements, putting players in the role of a student at a tennis school trying to climb their class ranks. There are also multiplayer options for those with the necessary GBA cables. This video review features video gameplay footage of Mario Tennis: Power Tour for the Game Boy Advance and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

CGR Undertow - INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US Review for Xbox 360

      by CGRundertow (5/13/13) 30 views

Injustice: Gods Among Us review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Injustice: Gods Among Us for XBox 360 developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Injustice: Gods Among Us does what Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe tried, but does it better. Instead of having to relate why or how Batman just got pwned by Johnny Cage (because, seriously), they've evened the playing field by ditching everyone who's not a superhero. It's the most obvious solution, and given the frantic, background-destroying, wall-busting, debris-chucking action, Injustice is so much better off for it. It's a fighting game on a much more epic level, kinda like Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom with characters people actually recognize. This video review features video gameplay footage of Injustice: Gods Among Us for XBox 360 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.

The Amazing Spider-Man review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of The Amazing Spider-Man for the Nintendo Wii U developed by Beenox and published by Activision. The Amazing Spider-Man is an open-world action game based on the 2012 film. It was released in the summer of 2012 for most system, but it didn't arrive on Wii U until March of 2013. Better late than never, right? Playing as Peter Parker, The Amazing Spider-Man gives you a huge urban playground where you can pretty much do whatever you want. Follow the main missions or explore a bit. The choice is yours in The Amazing Spider-Man. The combat, button mashy as it may be, is comprised of a very satisfying array of combos and aerial attacks. And on Wii U, you have the benefit of extra content and the GamePad. This video review features video gameplay footage of The Amazing Spider-Man: Ultimate Edition for the Nintendo Wii U and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
