Dana Ward from http://www.GamblersTelevision.com reports on Affliction Banned Fedor Emelianenko vs Tim Sylvia Main Event. Hello MMA fans. I’m Dana Ward with a quick hitter from Affliction Mixed Martial Arts. MMA’s newest fight league Affliction will make its debut Saturday Night July 19th with a Pay-per-view fight card titled “Affliction Banned,” and it originates from the Honda Center in Anaheim California. Making his debut in the sport is Donald Trump who is co-promoting this event. In the main event, Russian superstar heavyweight Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko will clash against American Tim “The Maniac” Sylvia. Fedor has compiled an impressive record over his 8 year professional career with 28 wins 1 loss and 1 no-contest over his 30 fights. He spent much of his career fighting in Japan under the Pride promotion and was their final Heavyweight Champion. Pride was acquired by the UFC, Fedor’s fight contract expired at the time and he failed to come to terms with the US-based promotion. Among Fedor’s victims includes 2 wins over UFC Hall of Famer, Mark “The Hammer” Coleman. Fedor specializes in many fight styles such as sambo, judo, boxing and Muay Thai. 15 of the Russian fighter’s 28 victories have come by submission. Tim “The Maniac” Sylvia is a strong striker, standing 6 feet 8 inches tall and he held the UFC World Heavyweight title on 2 separate occasions. He has a professional record of 24 wins and 4 losses with 16 wins by knockout. Working in the favor of Sylvia will be his plus-8-inch height and 30-pound weight advantage over his opponent. Many MMA fans remember Sylvia in 2004 who while competing in the UFC failed to tap out and suffered a broken arm while in an armbar submission hold by Frank Mir - It took a referee stoppage to put an end to that one. Sylvia will have a tough test against this Russian heavyweight, who many outside the UFC, call the best pound for pound fighter in mixed martial arts. Oddsmakers have listed Fedor Emelianenko as the minus-400 favorite with Tim Sylvia the underdog at plus 300. That will do it for now. This is Dana Ward reminding you that for Affliction MMA coverage with a little Vegas twist, keep your browser aimed at GamblersTelevision.com http://www.afflictionclothing.com/banned_july19/news4.pbml?id=4523 Fedor is pronounced Fay-dor Sylvia is pronounced syl-via http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SErx3GYgBBg Frank Mir is pronounced meer like deer with an m.

Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Football Season Win Projection 04:32

Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Football Season Win Projection

    by gamblerstelevision (7/12/08) 393 views

From http://GamblersTelevision.com Tony T Breaks down NFL Pro Football and offers his season win selection on the Pittsburgh Steelers on this edition of Tony Ts Sports Bets airing now on Gamblers Television. Tony T here from Gamblers Television covering the NFL “Vegas Style” all season long. The Pittsburgh Steelers won the AFC North last season with a 10-6 record but were eliminated in the playoffs by Jacksonville at home during wildcard weekend. The Steeler defense broke down during the final 5 games of last season by allowing an average of 29 points per game. Oddsmakers have set the projected season win total for the Steelers for the 2008 regular season at 9 wins. When you handicap season win totals you must, I mean must look at the schedule. Schedule: The Steelers have the toughest schedule in the NFL this season. 14 of their 16 opponents had winning records in 2007. Like the rest of the teams in their division the Steelers face the NFC East but must travel to the weakest teams in Washington and Philadelphia. They host both Dallas and the NY Giants. As division winners last season they must face first place San Diego and New England while the other 3 teams in their division wont face them. Two Monday night games are scheduled meaning a short week to prepare when facing Jacksonville and Indianapolis. How is this for scheduling from November 9th to December 7th they got in succession Indy, San Diego, Cincinnati, New England and Dallas. The Steelers need to get a good start to the season because wins late will be harder to come by. Offense: Big Ben Roethlisberger is coming off his first pro bowl season as he passed for 32 touchdowns last season. The Steelers locked up their starting quarterback by giving him at $102 million dollar contract for the next 8 years. The offensive line must do a better job of protecting him as Big Ben was sacked 47 times last season. They will be without Pro Bowl guard Alan Faneca who was lost through free agency. Running back Willie Parker had a good season rushing for over 1300 yards last season. He suffered a broken leg, which forced the talented runner to miss the last two games of the season. Parker showed no ill effect of the injury during mini camps. The Steelers added depth at the running back position by drafting Rashard Mendenhall in the first round. Hines Wards lead a talented receiving corps and a new addition will be 6-4 Limas Sweed who was drafted in the second round out of Texas. The Steelers added size in their receiving corps and will help them in critical third down plays as well as red zone throws. Heath Miller returns at tight end and his 6-5 height contributed to 7 touchdown receptions last season. The Steelers have talented playmakers on offense. 10 of 11 starters return for the Steelers potent offense from last season. The Steelers will put up plenty of points in 2008. Defense: Pittsburgh returns 10 starters from the #1 total defense from last season. Safety Troy Polamalu was stricken with a knee injury in 2007 that forced the talented safety to miss games. Polamalu could return to his good form with a healthy 2008 and makes a huge impact for the Steelers. I felt Polamalu’s health was part of the cause for the Steelers defensive breakdown late last season. They run the 3-4 and have a talented down lineman who can stop the run and set up plays for their linebackers. The defense also does a good job of creating turnovers. And now to my Selection: The Pittsburgh Steelers are loaded with talent on the offensive side of the ball. With Mendenhall coming in the draft it sets up 4th quarter situations where the Steelers can run out the clock on the ground with two good backs and will set up play action in the most critical points of the game. I think for this reason the Steelers have a good shot at sweeping the Bengals and Browns again because neither possesses a good defense. The Steelers will go 5-1 in the division this season and we need to find 5 more wins to get to 10. With the NY Giants getting a bit weaker on defense they will go 3-1 against the NFC East this season. They have Houston at home in week 1 which is a winnable game. We just need 1 win against the Colts, Chargers, Patriots, Titans or Jaguars to get to 10. With a really tough schedule this Steeler team will get to 10 wins. This team has 13-3 or 14-2 talent but with this difficult schedule will go 10-6. Play Pittsburgh over 9 wins this season. Play OVER 9 wins for the 2008 season. Selection: Over 9 wins in 2008 Regular Season. Be sure to visit and bookmark my TV Show page at www.GamblersTelevision.com for continues pointspread coverage from the NFL.
