What this latest rap drama portends for the future of our nation.
for notes and info on this video go here:
A long episode that doesn't have a lot of jokes in it, cuz I really feel bad for Charles, and am not trying to clown him.
For some background on Charles Hamilton's issues read here (good overview tho a couple of minor details are off):
Some live representation from Torae, who stopped by my radio show last night, with my DJ 3D on the turntables. Check out his new album with Marco Polo, "Double Barrel," when it drops on Tuesday.
A commentary that was supposed to be about Asher Roth but turned into an extended tangent about race in America.
I had a million other things I wanted to say so I'll try and follow up soon, cuz even though I know the Asher story is old I think the underlying issues run deep.
I recorded conversations with Dan Charnas and Amanda Diva that were a big part of my thought process for this one but couldn't work them into this vid.. will definitely get some of that footage up later.
Not a real episode just a station announcement to let you know I'm still filming every day, just behind on editing and uploading. Will be back on schedule tomorrow!
And to keep the inner censor off my trail, from now on I'll be posting some mini-doctrines in other secret accounts:
Morning Doctrine, Day 4
Carrie Prejean is FROM THE FUTURE (c) Dallas Penn
(This is my Wednesday video. I finished it before midnight on Wednesday, that counts!)
Morning Doctrine, Day 3
Even though I have no taste for it, there are lots of people I respect who do still rock a little jewelry and never wind up on the Youtube circuit for it. It's mostly just the over the top stuff that I'm really talking about here...
Day 2, wasn't planning to do this on weekends but made an exception for this little shoutout.
Last Friday I started a little experiment to get back in practice with making videos...trying to do one a day for the rest of the month (with weekends optional). At first I wasn't going to post them here but now that I'm in the groove I decided to go all out with it. Let's see if I can make it to the 30th!
Really just a station announcement, not a clever title.
It's really just a station announcement, not a clever title.
By request, a little something about New York Post's chimp (which is of course an ape not a monkey) cartoon.
Recorded on Wednesday, hence usage of the word "today."
A conversation with Elizabeth Mendez Berry, who wrote the well-known Vibe magazine feature "Love Hurts," that dug into domestic violence within (and without) hip-hop.
"The Only Way to Win is Not To Play"
Before I come back from vacation, gotta speak on this latest far-from-greatest hip-hop beef.
Looking for some help while I get over this cold...let me know what I should talk about now that the election's over!
