i think following trick will do better
14*26=364,assume, 1=1(1),4=2(1),2=1(2),6=2(2)
result=1(1)*1(2) - (1(1)*2(2)+2(1)*1(2)) - 2(1)*2(2)
=1*2-(1*6+4*2)-4*6=2-14-24...
