Everyone Loves 'Broadway Stands Up for Freedom'

    by nycluclips (7/12/11) 8 views

Broadway Stands Up for Freedom is the New York Civil Liberties Union's annual benefit concert. All of the proceeds go to our youth programs. This year, 9 Tony-nominated artists will perform including 'The Book of Mormon' Tony-winner Nikki M. James. The night will also include readings by famous actors of works by new york city students. The students' works are submissions to the NYCLU's annual student expression contest. Prizes include cash and writing workshops. Though the night features the biggest broadway talents on the scene today, the performances are varied and appeal to everyone. There is a reason why a wide variety of people come to the event. And you should to! You won't regret it, and you would be helping a great cause. For more information, go to www.nyclu.org/bway.
