Hi. My name is Alan Chesney. I'm writing this as I would really like to connect with all you sports minded guys and ladies out there... so here's a bit about me.
I grew up in New Zealand and now live in Australia. Right from a young age I had an immense love of sport, especially hockey. Even as a youngster at home I would be racing up and down the hallways with ... my hockey stick, dribbling the ball. My love of sport and hockey just kept growing, and I ended up playing for New Zealand.
So throughout the years I have played in numerous tournaments and won many awards. The pinnacle of my sporting achievements came in 1976 at the Montreal Olympics where I won a gold medal representing the New Zealand Hockey Team. It's hard to describe the feeling when I knew we'd done it – something along the lines of ‘ecstatically exuberant' might get close! It made all the blood, sweat and tears that went into the preceding years worth while - the rigorous training schedules and the toll it took on my body; the extra jobs to pay for it all; and all the knocks, bruises and sports injuries I received along the way...
Unfortunately injuries seem to go hand in hand with sport. I am no exception, and have received many injuries over the years whilst playing high level profile hockey, and more recently, in masters hockey.
I understand the frustration that sporting injuries can bring, as well as the pain and medical expense! Many times sporting injuries have caused me to miss out on essential training, and even worse, miss much trained for and highly looked-forward-to competitive events. It was a broken leg received in a training session that stopped me from playing in the 1972 Olympics. I had to wait a long 4 years before playing at the next Olympics. I was lucky - for some people their opportunity is lost forever. I learned a valuable lesson from this experience - the quicker an injury is healed, the quicker training can be resumed, and the more likelihood there is of being able to compete in upcoming events. Consequently I was always on the look out for ways to help the body heal itself from sports related stress and trauma. I knew the basics of course, such as good nutrition and sufficient sleep, but I knew there had to be more....
Then a few years ago I came across something quite by accident ... a state of the art technology which aids the healing process of the body. I decided to try it with sports related issues, and I was totally amazed with the results I got. I remember the first time I tried it. I was training for an event to which I was really looking forward. It was an international masters series for my adopted country Australia, against my former country New Zealand. It was scheduled in a few weeks, but my right knee was playing up big time. Every time I played, it became swollen and painful. The condition deteriorated to such an extent that I had to stop playing altogether. I had resigned myself to the fact that I wasn't going to make it to play for my new country..... that was when I used the little device, and I was astounded at the result. The pain and swelling decreased significantly. I couldn't believe it! Each time I applied it to my knee, it would improve. And yes, I am happy to say that I was able to compete in the Australia versus New Zealand series… So after that, every time I had an injury I would strap on the little device, and would always get pain reduction or elimination, and really quick healing. I got consistent results on all my injuries – no matter what they were.
After a while my hockey colleagues started to become curious. What is that little device Alan straps to his injuries? And how come his injuries always heal so quickly? So I'd explain that my little device used a technology which has an immense impact on rejuvenating the body, and that by using the device the body is able to recuperate much faster. Of course I let them borrow it to use on their injuries – but it was always hard to get it back! They found that their pain was significantly reduced, or totally went, depending on the severity of the injury, and that their injuries healed in about half the time. Suffice it to say that now almost all my colleagues have one of their own!
I was very privileged to come across this technology. It has saved me considerable pain, down time for training and events, and associated medical bills - especially physiotherapy. I know that the benefits of this technology to the sporting community are immense. However, as yet it is relatively unknown in the sporting world, and I want to change that. So that’s why I’m writing this. I am particularly interested in what your story is, and your thoughts about this little device and how it could help you.
