We are not putting in any preservatives, and we will use all natural spices for flavor. I find that when you use real ingredients it’s hard to mess up - except for that one time when I burned down the house cooking Chili. And I guess that one thanksgiving when everyone got food poisoning and … well... meatballs, here we go! So, here in our vitamixer, we’re going to mix 1 medium Onion ½ red pepper ½ green pepper ¼ cup of Sun Dried Tomato 3 cloves garlic Oregano Parsley Then we will take our 3lbs of turkey and crack a couple of eggs on top of it. We then mash it all up together with our mixture from the blender, and add our Salt, Pepper, and Crushed red pepper for some heat. You know it. Then, we can make balls out of them and put them on a cookie sheet which I added some coconut oil to so the balls don’t stick to the pan, and we put them in the oven at 400 degrees to convect. So, here are your super awesome organic turkey meatballs... Put them on my Awesome Pomodoro Sauce! But, this is the way to cook, all natural, full of protein, nutrients, and yummyness. Which leads to my question for you today. Thank you for Liking, Favoriting and Sharing this video with your Fit Friends, they will appreciate a new healthy recipe to put into their food rotation... I’m going to give you some background on my situation and give you some tips on how you can take better care of your neck along with some very specific stretches and strengthening exercises which I do on a very regular basis that have really helped. As you may or may not know, i actually broke my neck when i was 16 doing gymnastics. I had surgery to fuse c5 and 6, but that fusion didn’t hold since a wire they used to fuse the two bones together broke. This made my final years competing at Illinois very painful . I was able to tuff it out until after my last season, then had another neck fusion where they took some bone from my hip and fused c5 and 6 with a plate and four screws . After that surgery, my neurosurgeon told me something we all could learn from. He said for the rest of my life i will need to work on my posture. Chest forward, head on top of the shoulders. He said, learn to focus on scapular retraction, and try to pin the shoulder blades on the back of your ribs. This will rotate your shoulders back and force your upper body to be more upright. He told me to focus in strengthening my upper back and shoulders and that is how I can avoid bulging discs in the levels above and below the fusion. Ill go through my neck /upper back / shoulder routine that i do for "housekeeping" after i tell you one more quick story. When i went to Illinois, i had to get cleared by a neurosurgeon to compete. The neurosurgeon cleared me no problem, and then asked me what i wanted to study and i told him i was going in pre-med and wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon. He invited me to sit in on a couple of back surgeries, so i scrubbed in and observed the mayhem. That’s when i changed my major to nutrition... but i digress... the doc asked me if i knew why these women needed back surgery. I assumed car accidents or some unfortunate tragedy. Nope. 2 reasons he gave me. #1 they were obese and their spines were too stressed from supporting all the weight, and #2 they both smoked and because they smoked, their discs were not receiving oxygen and the nutrients they need to be healthy and thrive. so, what we can take away from these two neurosurgeons? actively work on improving your posture do this by stretching and strengthening watch your weight and keep it down. dont smoke, and just as important, do exercise every day that will circulate blood, oxygen and nutrients to your joints, discs, and brain. Now ill show you how to stretch and strengthen so you can keep your neck feeling good! click here for stretches, and here for strengthening exercises ... and don’t forget to tell me what your experience is! You should do these when warmed up, but they will help you alleviate pain caused by texting if you have “Texting Neck” or just bad neck or upper body posture. I have been doing these stretches a few times per week and I have found them to drastically help my neck flexibility and reduce stiffness and tightness in my neck and upper back/shoulders. I hope this helps you! The sternocleidomastoid muscle can be traced from its origin in the sternum and the clavicle along its path to the mastoid process of the temporal bone where it is then inserted into the neck. If the muscle on the left of the neck contracts, the head turns toward the right, and of course vice verse. If both side of this muscle contract, the result is a pulling downward and forward motion of the head. The platysma muscle actually encases the sternocleidomastoid muscle. The trapezius muscle actually considered to be just as much of a muscle related to the back as it is the neck. Only a small portion of this muscle integrates with the neck. Deep in perspective to the trapezius muscle, the splenius capitis is a particularly wide muscle. It can be traced from its originating point around the ligamentum nuchae and the spinous processes involving the first three thoracic vertebrates and the seventh cervical vertebrates. From there its path can be traced along up to the rear of the skull, just below the superior nuchal line, to the mastoid process of the temporal bone. The head can be manipulated to one side and rotated via the contraction of the splenius capitis. When both muscles are contracted at the same time, the head actually rises as the neck appears to elongate. Originating at the seventh cervical and the first six thoracic vertebrates, the semispinalis capitis can traced up to the its insertion point on the occipital bone. The contraction of one of these very broad and wide muscles creates rotation of the head while contraction of both muscles together creates the similar rise in the head as the splenius capitis. These muscles are known to work cohesively when elongating the neck.

We kept in touch, and when he was in Los Angeles last week, we were able to connect and practice some drills, including the Falkenberg Drill (info below). I found it to be an amazing workout with my heart rate getting up to the 170’s bpm and the drill is great for agility, speed, quickness, reflexes, bloodflow, and movement. Ping pong is such a great workout for everyone! The constant calculations of spin, angles, strategy, along with the bloodflow make it the number one exercise for your brain as well! So check this video out and if you are looking to train your ping pong skills, go to http://www.joolausa.com/Professional/Robots/iPong-Pro and get an ipong pro! The Player will be the person being trained, and the Partner will be the one feeding balls to the Player. The Player starts at his/her backhand corner, and the Partner stands diagonal to him (if the Player is right-handed, then he will be standing on the left side of the table). The Partner feeds a ball to the Player's backhand and the Player hits it diagonally with the Backhand. The Partner blocks it back diagonally to the same spot, and the Player steps around and hits it diagonally with the Forehand. The Partner blocks it down the line and the Player reaches and hits it with theForehand. The Partner blocks it back diagonally to the original spot and the Player moves back to play it with the Backhand. Repeat It was made popular at the Falkenberg club in Sweden by 1971 World Men's Singles Champion Stellan Bengsston. It's almost for certain the most popular footwork drill in the world among top players because it covers the three most common footwork moves in table tennis - cover the wide forehand, cover the wide backhand, and step around forehand from the backhand corner. Let me tell, Yams don’t have to be so Painfully boring, and disgusting, and can actually taste good and be very healthy! Especially when they are SPICY! So, here we have 3 washed and chopped Yams to serve 4 people - and since having a baby in the house, I’m defaulting to calling them Jams for some reason... Right Averi?... You want to keep the slices kind of thin... I cut them up too large last week and they just take forever to cook. Mince or press 4 fresh garlic cloves and mix it with 1.5 tablespoons of coconut oil. warm up the oil on the stove just a bit to get it to a liquid state, and pour it on the Jams. on the side, mix up 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper chopped, fresh basil 4 leaves sea salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/4 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/2 teaspoon Cover them up with Foil, and Bake at 350 for 45min, stirring at 30 min? These are kind of like sweet Potato fries... except they are Jams, not fried, and these are much better for you. The heat from the cayenne pepper and flavor of the other herbs perfectly compliments the sweetness of the Jams. I think you will find these yummy, and a great recipe to add to your list of regulars in your healthy, active lifestyle... which leads me to my question for you - why did I use coconut oil to cook these Jammin Jams today? Yep, today im going to show you how to do a real muscle up, not the fake swinging kind i see a lot of on the internet. We are going to start with what us gymnasts call a false grip. The false grip will allow you to rotate your shoulders over the rings and transition from pulling your body up to pushing down on the rings to a support position. so, we are going to do a pull up, focusing on pulling your body up to your chest with your legs out in front of you. now we are going to transition from pulling to the chest to rotating your shoulders forward over your wrists and pushing your body up to a support position. This transition is difficult and it takes lots of practice to do it right. Along with practicing your muscle ups, you want to also practice your support position on the rings. Try to turn the rings out a bit and keep your forearms off the straps. Once your support position is solid, dips will certainly be helpful to practice regularly. if you are struggling with your muscle up, you can practice an eccentric muscle up, or a muscle down. im using these rings from the human trainer, and one advantage of these rings are that you can lower the rings to practice the transition with your feet on the ground. i hope that helps you get your muscle ups down. I'll put a link below in the video description on where I got my rings kit, along with links to where you can go to follow us on Facebook and google plus. I'll have more rings tutorials for you coming soon, so be sure to subscribe to my channel - I post new videos every Monday. How are those new years resolutions going? Yes, Walter is a genius. He knows lots of tricks including sit, stay, shake, roll over, wait, off, down, and many more. Most impressively, Walter knew Cari was preganant before she was 6 weeks pregnant. Yes, Walter was able to smell or hear that Cari had a baby growing in her. Some say that Walter is “privileged” – and he is. He has been our kid now for almost 5 years and he has been so much fun. Smart pets are like children. They learn, listen, and keep you busy! It will be an adjustment for all of us in the house now that Baby Averi is here. But, as the video shows, it is nothing new. Life always changes. Including for Walter. He was a puppy once and is growing up. Now he has to put up with a pesty sister (Bindy) and very lick-able baby sister. Fun times ahead!
