Mercury Mercury has no known beneficial role in human metabolism, and its ability to affect the distribution and retention of other heavy metals makes it one of the most dangerous toxic metals (Houston 2011). Mercury toxicity can arise from ingestion of metallic mercury or mercury salts (which are generally poorly bioavailable) or by inhalation of mercury vapor (which is readily absorbed) (ATSDR 2001). The relatively high solubility and stability of certain mercury salts in water enables them to be readily taken up and biotransformed to methylmercury by certain fish; these forms are readily absorbed through the GI tract and are becoming a major source of mercury exposure in humans (Houston 2011). Dimethylmercury, a mercury compound chemically synthesized in the laboratory, can also be absorbed through the skin, and several cases of fatal exposure among laboratory workers have been reported (Nierenberg 1998; Bernhoft 2012). Although humans can excrete small amounts of mercury in urine or feces as well as via exhalation or sweating, they lack an active robust mechanism for mercury excretion, allowing levels to accumulate with chronic exposure (Houston 2011; Sällsten 2000; Houston 2011). Mercury, particularly when inhaled as mercury vapors, can distribute to many organs, but may concentrate in the brain and kidneys (ATSDR 2001). It can also cross the placenta and be found in breast milk (Yang 1997). Mercury exerts its toxic effects by competing with and displacing iron and copper from the active site of enzymes involved in energy production; this induces mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative damage (Houston 2011). Mercury can also directly accelerate the oxidative destruction of cell membranes and LDL cholesterol particles as well as bind to and inactivate the cellular antioxidants N-acetyl cysteine, alpha-lipoic acid, and glutathione (Houston 2011). Because of its effect on cellular defense and energy generation, mercury can cause widespread toxicity and symptoms

Unfortunately, your diet may not be sufficient to promote optimal health, and you may not be able to avoid all exposure to heavy metals. However, a variety of nutritional supplements can help. Fish oil supplements can provide the essential fatty acids you body needs – but be sure to ask your provider about heavy metal testing. A reputable company should be able to provide results. Selenium supplementation can help lower the effects of toxic heavy metals such as cadmium, thallium and mercury. Silicon dissolved in mineral water can help your body excrete metals like, cadmium, mercury and lead. Vitamin C and E are powerful antioxidants that protect against oxidative damage from heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium and lead. Probiotics are health-promoting bacteria that can trap and metabolize heavy metals, such as cadmium and lead, to prevent them from having as great of an effect on your health. Best food sources include raw sauerkraut, kombucha and other fermented products like, tempeh and miso. Every year, we see environmental toxins becoming a greater health concern – especially since we know these substances bioaccumulate and cause serious health problems such as nausea and vomiting, anemia, cancer, heart disease plus many brain disorders like, dementia. Making better food choices and engaging in healthier lifestyle habits will dramatically reduce the risk to our health.

There is no evidence that you can prevent prostate cancer. But you may be able to lower your risk. A diet that helps maintain a healthy weight may reduce your risk for prostate cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends: Limiting high-fat foods Cutting back on red meats, especially processed meats such as hot dogs, bologna, and certain lunch meats Eating at least 2-1/2 cups of fruits and vegetables each day Healthy food choices also include bread, cereals, rice, pasta, and beans. Antioxidants in foods, especially in fruits and vegetables, help prevent damage to the DNA in the body's cells. Such damage has been linked to cancer. Lycopene, in particular, is an antioxidant that has been thought to lower the risk of prostate cancer. It can be found in foods such as: Tomatoes -- both raw and cooked Spinach Artichoke hearts Beans Berries -- especially blueberries Pink grapefruit and oranges Watermelon It's not clear whether lycopene actually helps prevent prostate cancer, and recent studies have not been able to show that it does.

The best foods for removing heavy metals from your body are wheatgrass, chlorella, spirulina, cilantro and garlic. According to Dietrich Klinghardt, M.D., Ph.D., cilantro is probably the only agent effective at removing toxic mercury from intracellular spaces and the nuclei of cells. Foods rich in sulfur, are also important to help reduce a toxic metal load, such as grass-fed meats, egg yolks, garlic, onions, and cruciferous vegetables. Turmeric which helps maintain the health of the liver and kidneys is also effective at expelling toxins from the body. Alpha -lipoic acid is a potent antioxidant that is essential for healthy metabolism. It also binds to heavy metals in the body and helps clear mercury and lead from the body. Alpha lipoic acid can be found in foods such as Brewer’s yeast, beets, broccoli, carrots, potatoes, spinach, red meat, organ meats, and yams. Foods rich in amino acids-Amino acids are natural chelators, they can be found in foods such as corn, carrots, grapes, oatmeal, papayas, plums and pomegranates

Skin Care Review, Skin Care At Home, Anti Aging Foods, Organic Skin Care, Skin Care Products. 3 Diet Secrets To Creating Younger Skin From the Inside Out If you watch the beauty and anti-aging ads on TV and read them in your favorite women’s magazines, the cosmetic industry would have you believe that beautiful skin is a result of slathering very expensive creams or serums on your face. But here’s something that may surprise you… True beauty doesn’t come out of a bottle. You won’t get the results you’re hoping for simply by putting something on the surface of your skin. That’s because the single best way to get beautiful skin is to nourish it from the inside out. When you give your body the right amount of nutrients and antioxidants, it can effectively combat and destroy the damaging free radicals in your system, and then your body can start working immediately to repair and revitalize your skin. The right nutrients also give your body what it needs to bring your hormones into balance so you can achieve that beautiful, healthy glow. So how do you give your body what it needs? You can start by following these three tips… #1: Get rid of overly processed foods. You ever hear the saying, “garbage in, garbage out”? That very much applies to your skin. When you eat sugar and processed junk foods, it throws your hormones out of whack and doesn’t give your body what it needs to nourish your skin. To avoid this negative effect, you’ll want to focus on eating “close to nature.”
