Video Wiki Lab Community Manager – Metacafe, Inc (Palo Alto, CA)
Requirements:
- Working with team to jump start early areas for community involvement – seeding and editor recruitment efforts
- Helping to build out initial community policies
- Identifying community needs and spearheading projects to resolve those issues.
- Supporting wiki communities and helping them grow by providing help, advice, and practical assistance – direct outreach, welcoming etc
- Assisting users and responding to their questions via email, wiki talk pages, and real-time chat.
- Testing new features and creating corresponding help pages and tutorials.
- Serving as the initial point of contact for users and tenaciously following through on all issues until they are resolved.
- Actively watch for vandalism and use regular mediawiki tools to revert/block/etc
- Representing Metacafe and working to improve user satisfaction and community/staff relationships.
Director, Video Wiki Lab – Metacafe, Inc (Palo Alto, CA)
Requirements:
- Work with founder to build out community based ecosystem that will deliver a vibrant and engaged editor community for video programming– help bring the vision to life (create the wikipedia for video!)
- Manage all areas required to deliver on vision: Product Mgmt, development/wiki platform tools, community management, strategic partnerships/marketing.
- Manage Video Wiki Lab team in Palo Alto (2-3 people initially) and set priorities for mediawiki engineering team in Tel Aviv (where our development efforts are conducted)
- Build out MRDs (marketing requirements docs) and PRD (product requirements docs) for the development teams
- Play a critical role in transforming the wiki approach to a viable business tool in the media environment (merging the power of the community in a commercial venture like Metacafe)
- Constantly review competitive efforts to stay on top of emerging trends
- Build out and optimize the editor experience including usability assessment, creating new forms/pages (light technical experience required), site policies, business approach/alignment with ad sales needs

PHP Developer
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in server side web development.
- Experience in the following areas: PHP, Object-Oriented Development, MySQL , SOAP
- B.Sc. - an advantage
- Excellent English reading and writing skills
