The player wields an arsenal of hand-made weaponry which can be customized through scavenging materials and a crafting system. The game features a mixture of linear levels and sandbox environments. It also includes a dynamic weather system, a day-night cycle, and environments that change along with the seasons as the story progresses (It will be set over the course of one whole in-game year). Metro Exodus is set in 2036, on a post-apocalyptic Earth that has been devastated by a nuclear war over 20 years ago in 2013. The game continues the story from Metro: Last Light's "Redemption" ending. The player assumes the role of 22-year-old Artyom who flees the Metro in Moscow and sets off on a continent-spanning journey with Spartan Rangers to the far east. Artyom first travels around the Volga River, not far from the Ural Mountains, to get a ride on a locomotive known as the "Aurora" that heads east for a new life. The story takes place over the course of one year, starting in harsh nuclear winter in the metro. Another major character, returning from the previous game and the book Metro 2035, is Anna - who is now Artyom's wife.

Metro: Last Light – 4A Games – Deep Silver – Metro 2033 – Director Andre Prokhorov – Designer – Viacheslav Aristov – Programmers - Alexander Maximchuk & Oles Shyshkovtsov – Artist - Andrey Tkachenko - Writer Dmitry Glukhovsky, Andre Prokhorov, Andrey Paskhalov, Paul DeMeo & David Slagle - Microsoft Windows – PlayStation 4 – Xbox One X – Xbox One - Activision – eSports - Overwatch League – Unity – 4A Engine - Gamescom – E3 – PAX West – PAX East – Tokyo Game Show – Brazil Game Show Metro: Last Light is a post-apocalyptic-themed, first-person shooter video game with stealth and survival horror elements. It was developed by Ukrainian studio 4A Games, published by Deep Silver, distributed by Square Enix in North America for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May 2013. A remastered version of the game was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in August 2014 as Metro: Last Light Redux within the Metro Redux package. A sequel to the video game Metro 2033, its story follows Artyom, a Ranger living in Moscow's metro system after a destructive nuclear war. Tasked with finding the mysterious Dark Ones, Artyom must venture to different parts of the metro system, and the surface filled with radiated gases, and fight against different factions and mutated monsters. The game improves on various gameplay mechanics of 2033, and introduces elements such as weapon customization. Developed by a team of about 80 people, Last Light is a direct sequel to 2033, with franchise creator Dmitry Glukhovsky writing the game's dialogue and main story outline. Multiplayer modes were planned but were eventually scrapped in order to focus on single-player, which the developers hoped would "rekindle memories of Half-Life 2". Originally set to be published by THQ, which provided a very limited budget for the game's development, Koch Media acquired it after THQ's bankruptcy. A Wii U version was planned but was ultimately canceled.

Metro 2033 review. *******www.ClassicGameRoom**** Shop CGR shirts & mugs! *******www.CGRstore**** Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Metro 2033 for the Xbox 360 developed by 4A Games and published by THQ and Deep Silver. Metro 2033 is a stealth-based first-person shooter based on a Russian novel. Players take the role of Artyom, a man who survived the nuclear apocalypse by retreating into the subway systems. That's where mankind now resides, hoping to wait out the nuclear winter and all the beasts that have occupied the surface. But surivival isn't a waiting game. Monsters burrow into the tunnels, attack survivor strongholds and make life a living hell underground. Players must have a steady aim and nerves of steel to last in the dark, nightmarish Metro. Metro 2033 incorporates survival horror elements and stealth into its gameplay, encouraging players to conserve ammunition and go unseen as often as possible. Artyom's weapons are limited, and he must also rely on his gas mask on the terrifying occasions when he has to surface. A sequel, Metro: Last Light, was released in 2013. This video review features video gameplay footage of Metro 2033 for the Xbox 360 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
