*******www.3DMotionApps**** 3D Motion Apps releases their official twitter app for Android devices, featuring a pioneering new method of motion sensor navigation. With a spacious full-screen design, "One-Touch" Translation (Powered by Google Translate), and optimized for one-hand navigation, 3D Motion twitter incorporates a host of new design features, while still offering all of the standard options you've come to expect in a twitter application. Re-Designed From the Ground Up. The first thing you'll notice when looking at the main timeline section -- no buttons! The tweets take up the whole display. To navigate up and down, simply tilt the device left or right. The more you tilt from center, the faster the scroll. As you return the phone to center, the scrolling slows and will eventually stop. Tilt the other direction and it reverses. The most unique and innovative feature in this app is its use of the motion sensor for menu navigation. Wherever you are inside the app, by tilting the device back, the main menu is cued. Tilting left or right will scroll through the various menu options. Tilting forward will enter that section. This again removes the clutter of buttons where they are no longer needed. When the app does make use of buttons, they are large, easy-to-tap buttons -- making one-handed navigation comfortable. Oftentimes apps have such small buttons, it's easy to accidentally click something else. The large button design makes a tactile difference to the navigation experience. "One-Touch" Translation is another indispensable feature. Simply by tapping the translate button, it converts any tweet or profile you're reading into your language -- as well as letting you know the name of the source language. This feature is indispensible for anyone who is doing global market research, or for anyone just interested in what other people are talking about on a given subject in other parts of the world. 3D Motion Twitter is also a robust full-featured Twitter App. With 14 separate screen views, the app contains the traditional list of options: multiple accounts, geo-tagging, lists, FaceBook sharing, email a tweet, attach a Google Map link based on your GPS location, retweet, reply, follow/unfollow, add to favorites, view and edit favorites, tweet and user search, shrink URLs, and viewing of any other user's followers, following, and tweets. A few interesting extras of note: offline viewing (for when no connection is present), full-screen profile photo view, and a list of saved searches round out the application. Plans for full multi-language support are in the works. 3D Motion Labs plans to integrate motion sensor navigation in their upcoming apps, including a number of Android tablet apps.

"stick" mode, the on-board Gumstix computer running Linux receives data from the SIXAXIS over Bluetooth L2CAP and emulates a mode 2 RC helicopter transmitter. In "tilt sensor" mode, cyclic pitch is controlled by two of the three accelerometers, rather than by the right-hand stick.

From the Maker Faire Program (*******makerfaire****/pub/e/1091) About the Maker(s): Marnia Johnston SWARM is built to explore the aesthetic possibilities in the emergent behavior of artificial systems. As a first step, Orbs are remote-controlled by human operators, but each Orb's sounds and color illumination is algorithmically generated in response to location and motion. Each Orb has sophisticated navigational sensors including GPS, accelerometers, and rate gyros. We are progressing towards sophisticated navigational algorithms, much like those used in spacecraft, that allow each orb to determine its location with high accuracy. From this, we can explore emergent and cooperative behavior like flocking as well as new possibilities in machine choreography. SWARM is not a simulation. SWARM is a platform for art of the 21st century. *******wiki.orbswarm****/index.php?title=Main_Page

Hello from ZodTTD of zodttd****, I recently submitted a port of Quake to Apple's AppStore. It is compatible with the iPhone and iPod Touch of all versions/firmwares 2.0+. Here is a video of it in action! At first accelerometer support was included, but it is very hard to play the game while maintaining the positions needed for Quake. So it has been disabled in this revision. Once/if approved for AppStore, it will be updated to include network play, mods / downloadable content, and more! As you can see and hear, this version has sound support and uses a landscape orientation. Please support my efforts on bringing this awesome title to AppStore, and visit me at zodttd****! Thanks, ZodTTD

The iPhone's amazing touchscreen and accelerometer based technology has revolutionized the way we use our phones, and programmers have created some amazing applications that take full advantage of the capabilities of the phone to change our lives in positive ways. Take the GreenMeter app for example... this app is designed to help you adjust your driving habits in order to reduce CO2 emissions and save you money on gas. The app uses the iPhone's accelerometer to measure forward acceleration, compute engine power, fuel economy, fuel cost, carbon footprint, and oil consumption. Just take a look at all the data on the app and see how adjusting your driving style changes the visual graphs for the better and worse. If you use the GreenMeter right, you can become a more environmentally friendly driver and save yourself some big money on gas. Greenmeter costs $5.99 to download, but since that's just a little more than the cost of a gallon of gas, it's well worth the small investment. I'm Elizabeth Chambers. Two of the most popular paid downloads from the iPhone App store, are racing games. “Cro Mag Rally” is an ultra high tech, “Mario Kart” style game where you play as either a caveman or cavegirl racing around11 different tracks in your choice of “primitive” vehicles, such as the “Bone Buggy” and “Trojan Horse.” It's a wild and fun race through history. One reviewer wrote “By far the best deal in the APP store and best two bucks I ever spent! In my free time instead of reading a book I play the game.” The major complaints on this game have been control issues. From my experience it does take a few plays to get the hang of the steering and I found myself going the wrong way on the course multiple times.. But at a cheap download price of $1.99 for a 3D game, it's worth the small bit of frustration for the large dose of fun the game delivers. But if you're looking for a more serious racing game, “Asphalt 4: Elite Racing” delivers. With superb graphics and a cool, accelerometer based control system that lets you use your iPhone like a steering wheel, the game is an addictive speed rush. And with the ability to play against your friends over a wifi connection, “Asphalt 4” is definitely worth the $9.99 price tag. The best deal by far is “Cro Mag Rally,” and with the other 8 dollars you saved you can purchase both ibeer and ipopcorn and have 2 bucks left over. I'm Marc Gittleman from Hard Drive 911 for TekieTV.Com. Keep watching for answers and updates on all your science and technology needs.
