The general advice is that when you have any doubts about the age of a potential date, then you should politely ask to see her national identification card or cedula.

BY CHARLIE MCKEAGUE You're watching multisource sports video news analysis from Newsy “Mark Sanchez, he reportedly hooked up in his New Jersey home last month with a 17-year-old Connecticut high school student.” (HLN) Move over Brett Favre – Deadspin**** has a new target – Mark Sachez. Sanchez and 17-year-old Eliza Kruger made front-page news in New York after the website posted it’s story detailing the pair’s unusual relationship. Sex between the two would be illegal in many states – but in New York the legal age for consent is actually 16. The story was so hot it became one of the most popular search terms on Google – and made its way to late night talk shows. Here’s what Jay Leno had to say about the fling. “New York Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez has been dating a 17-year old-girl. (Audience: Groans) No, see in New York 17 is the age of consent. In fact when he heard about that Italian Prime Minister Silvia Berlusconi announced he was running for governor of New York. (Audience: Laughs) ... They say that Sanchez has hooked up with this 17-year-old. He could not be reached for comment. He was at the Justin Bieber concert.” The 17-year-old Kruger allegedly sent pictures of Sanchez’s house and juicy details about their hookup to Deadpsin. Here is a snippet of an e-mail she allegedly gave the website. “I don't want to betray him but I don't want to let him play me like this, if this comes out like I technically sold this then I can risk any jobs or college in the future. They may not want me if I ‘sold’ the story. So publish what you know and I’ll just be like it was a deceitful friend of mine.” But Kruger later wished she didn’t kiss and tell. She has since hired a lawyer and might sue the website for posting the information without her consent. According to Deadspin this is what her attorney is saying. “[Her attorney] believes that our publishing a story about a legal relationship would both be defamatory and constitute an "unlawful publication of private facts...” A writer for the Seattle Post Intelligencer believes Deadpsin went way overboard in what it revealed – which eventually led to Kruger’s name being leaked. “Wow. Talk about throwing a source under the bus. Eliza's 17, and is obviously in way over her head. Instead of Deadspin taking steps to protect themselves and her, they just went buck wild, all over the place.” While some news outlets focused on whether Deadspin should have released the information – others like New York’s WNYW went paparazzi with the story. Reporter: “Nothing to say now. The 17-year-old Eliza Kruger covered her face with a fur hood and dodged our questions when we caught up with her on a street near her home, in Greenwich Connecticut. Reporter: Let’s just stop. Stop for one second.” Kruger: “I’m not stopping.” Reporter: “The blonde high-school student who claims to have had a relationship with Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez chose instead to text on her phone when we found her.” Kruger: Really, I have no comment.” After some digging – a Clevaland TV station reported Kruger’s mom is quite the party animal. An anchor for Cleveland’s WOIO wasn’t impressed – and decided to tip-toe the line a little bit. Anchor 1 “It turns out that the girls mom likes to party and that’s why this 17 year old was at the nightclub where she met Mark Sanchez. Mom has been taking her daughter clubbing since she was 15. That’s some good parenting there. When asked about the clubbing mom had no comment. Isn’t that nice, she will go on to write the book “How to Raise a Tramp”. Anchor 2: “Oh my goodness, tell us how you really feel!” So what do you think? Its perfectly legal, who cares? Eww Mark Sanchez? Or Deadspin layoff the young lady? BY BRICE SANDER Baby, baby, baby, oh! Could the Biebs be a daddy? That’s what one California woman is hoping to prove. ABC News explains. CECILIA VEGA: “The fresh-faced Justin Bieber, 17 years old, is accused of fathering a child with a 20-year-old woman. She’s threatening to slap him with a paternity lawsuit- she wants him to take a test. She’s saying he’s the father of her 3-month-old baby boy. She’s saying that they had relations behind, backstage at one of his concerts.” ROB NELSON: “Has he even hit puberty to have relations?” CECILIA VEGA: “I don’t know- he’s 17.” A legal analyst tells Boston’s NECN, take the test, Biebs- they’re gonna make you do it anyway. ROBERT JUBINVILLE: “She can try, and a judge will probably order it if, uh, unless there’s evidence she was not even at the event and they can prove that. But it’s not a very high threshold to get him to take a DNA test. And if I’m his lawyer and he’s not the person who had the child, had the affair with her, you give a DNA sample. It’s very simple today.” And the Washington Post argues- true or false- these claims are a big deal for Bieber’s career. “… they are notable because they mark the first time that Bieber has been caught up in a scandal. Prior to this moment, the wholesome kid … hadn’t been involved in anything much more controversial than a water balloon fight…” But The Telegraph suggests this could be even more damaging for the Biebs’ supposed baby mama. “If [her] claims are true she leaves herself vulnerable to possible prosecution for statutory rape of a minor. By her account she would have been 19 at the time of the encounter but the singer would have been only 16. California's age of consent is 18.” The woman claims she and Justin’s one time- and his first time- lasted just 30 seconds, making Today’s Kathie Lee and Hoda even more skeptical of the story. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “Here’s what I also think, is if it’s a lie, she should also have charges brought against her." HODA KOTB: “For defamation?” KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “Yes, for defamation of character. There’s gotta be a stop to this at some point, too.” HODA KOTB: “Plus, the timing is questionable because her, her lawsuit is coming- her suit against him is coming right when his album is released.” KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “Yeah, the baby’s three months old. What about when she got pregnant? Timing- that’s how cynical we’ve become as a culture. We think everything’s planned.” Bieber’s camp denies the daddy drama, calling the lawsuit “malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false.” Transcript by Newsy.
