Welcome to our New Series here on AirMaria.com with Dr. Mark Miravalle, in collaboration with Vox Populi Mariae Mediatrici. This series will give a basic understanding about Mary and why we should be lovingly devoted to her. Stay tuned!
We are so blessed to have Dr. Mark Miravalle, Professor of Theology and Mariology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, host this new inspirational series on AirMaria entitled Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, & Advocate, which will present and explain these roles of Mary to help prepare the way for a possible definition of the 5th Marian Dogma.
In this first episode Dr. Mark clearly explains Our Blessed Lady’s role as Coredemptrix by first underscoring what Coredemptrix does not mean i.e. that she is not God, that she is not equal with Jesus, and that she is not the Fourth person of the Blessed Trinity.
We hope you will enjoy watching this series as much as we did filming it. We also hope that this series will help to dispel all the many misconceptions and misunderstandings of Our Blessed Lady’s role in the salvation of the human race and inspire you to greater love of Mary and her Son, Jesus.

Ave Maria! This is a special AIRMARIA report on the status of religious liberty in America, relative to the ongoing push on the part of the homosexual lobby for full same-sex marriage in Connecticut. Last year same-sex civil unions were legalized by the state assembly with an amendment defining marriage as a union of one man and one woman. In Connecticut, same-sex couples already have all the rights and benefits of married people, just not the name marriage. This year they are back for what they call equality, but in reality the legalization of same-sex marriage in Connecticut will only codify the defense of traditional marriage as a form of discrimination.Witness the erosion of your religious liberty! This assault will not stop at the state line. The same-sex marriage lobby wishes to challenge the federal Defense of Marriage Act. This affects you, no matter where you live in America. On March 26 2007, Brian Brown, Executive director of the Family Institute of Connecticut, testified before the judiciary committee of the state legislature in regard to raised House Bill 7395: An Act Concerning Marriage Equality. He was grilled on the question of commitment to civil rights and his religious convictions. Brian defended both traditional marriage and religious liberty in an eloquent and courageous way. He continues to be attacked on the FIC blog. In this video Brian also tells us what we can do to protect religious liberty. Don't underestimate this attack on religious liberty. This has implications for us all. Bill Donohue of the Catholic League picked up on the threat and is bringing it to national attention. This video is a good synthesis of what happened last Monday.Ave Maria!
Ave Maria! Our Roving Reporter and AirMaria Vlogmaster, Friar Roderic Mary, recently tracked down Fr. Don Calloway MIC, in Steubenville, Ohio. Father was kind enough to squeeze in two interviews for us in the short space of time he had to spare between two other meetings. This week's interview is about Fr. The AirMaria Crew (minus our Roving Reporter, friar Roderic) recently went to Cleveland, Ohio, for the Catholic Marketing Network's Trade Show. Fr. Joseph Fessio, S.J. was the principal celebrant for the Holy Mass on Thursday morning, and afterwards we caught up with him, to do a series of several parts, on the recent documents released by Pope Benedict XVI. Fr. Fessio is a close friend of the Holy Father and in this short series he explains these documents with insights from this unique perspective. This first episode is an explanation of the very recent Apostolic Letter Motu Proprio? Summorum Pontificum which our Holy Father, Pope Benedict released on 07/07/07 concerning the use of the Roman Missal promulgated by John XXIII in 1962. We are very blessed to have Fr. Fessio agree to do this series for AirMaria and we hope you will not only enjoy it, but will gain a higher appreciation for how our Holy Father is guiding his flock with wisdom and prudence. Ave Maria!

Ave Maria! We apologize for the delay in getting this episode of No Apologies on the air. The Airmaria production team was on a field trip last week to Steubenville, Ohio, and Bloomington, Indiana, and with limited internet access during this time, we were unable to post this episode.Fra Joseph is also recovering from a bout of Lyme's disease and is in St Raphael's Hospital in New Haven for the next week, so we will be unable to post the next episode of No Apologies for another two weeks - one thing for sure, these episodes are worth waiting for and in this episode Fra Joseph again skillfully explains the Perpetual Virginity of the Blessed Virgin Mary using Sacred Scripture, Church Tradition, and the writings of the Early Church Fathers. Ave Maria!
Fr. Maximilian Dean - Bl. John Duns Scotus (1265-1308) was a Franciscan priest, theologian and professor at Oxford University and the University of Paris. He was famous for his subtle doctrine, especially regarding the Immaculate Conception, and has come to be known as the Subtle Doctor. Because of his doctrine of the Absolute Primacy of Christ, sin or no sin, the thesis that holds that the Word would have become flesh even had Adam not sinned has come to be known as the Scotistic or Franciscan Thesis. Bl. Scotus bases his doctrine on predestination as found in Sacred Scripture and Tradition, and upon simple logic: God wills the created universe in an orderly fashion.
