Velocity by Burgmuller. I just turned 8 when this was recorded. This video has already had a career on Youtube some years ago, after a fan downloaded it from my site and posted it on his channel. Eventually his channel was shut down for copyright violation. Many other videos that I uploaded to my site, four-five years ago, were downloaded by fans and posted to Youtube as part of various "prodigy" collections. I will gradually re-post some of these on my channel, and collect them all under an Archive playlist. *******www.arielpiano****

*******www.arielpiano**** My arrangement of Mendelssohn's Song Without Words Op 53 No 5 for 8 instruments: string quintet, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon. This performance was at the Israel Arts and Sciences Academy in Jerusalem by the Kaprizma Ensemble, conducted by Israel Sharon. The arrangement was performed also at the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival last year, but the Kaprizma rendition is far better.

*******www.arielpiano**** I turned 7 a few weeks before I played this Haydn piano concerto in C at the Jerusalem Theater with the Holon Habama Orchestra conducted by Idit Shechtman. I believe this video has also had an earlier life on Youtube in the "prodigy" collection of some fan, but it must have been removed because I don't see it anymore. I am adding it to the Archives playlist.

*******www.arielpiano**** This "Galliards Gygge" in A minor is from William Byrd's collection of 42 pieces for keyboard called My Ladye Nevells Booke. (Not clear why Byrd called it a galliard-gigue; it doesn't seem to be either.) I practically had to sight-read this piece for a lecture on suites, and I skipped a couple of notes as I was turning the page. Byrd is one of my favorite Renaissance composers.

*******www.arielpiano**** This is Chopin's "Minute waltz" in d-flat major, Op 64 No 1, which has already had a career on Youtube in the "prodigy" collections of several fans, but I think they all have been removed since. So I am posting it here under my Archive playlist. Note the special "pedal stool" I used to enable me to reach the pedals.

*******www.arielpiano**** Daniel Askarov and I played this Bach Partita No 3 in E major for violin solo, with the Schumann piano accompaniment, at a workshop conducted by the great violinist, musician, and teacher, Joel Lester. I must admit that at the time I didn't quite see the point in the piano accompaniment, but since then I started playing the partita on the violin and I changed my opinion about the accompaniment. Maybe I'll write a blog about it some day.
