November 2006 (Medialink) -- Despite the confusion over juice, new research has found that it's not 100 percent fruit juice that makes children overweight. As a result of two new studies published in the journal Pediatrics, parents can now feel confident about serving their children appropriate amounts of 100 percent fruit juice. Both of these studies confirm that there is no connection between children's weight and consuming reasonable amounts of fruit juice. One of the studies from the Baylor College of Medicine evaluated data accumulated over several years from a national sample of preschoolers. The researchers determined that consumption of 100 percent juices is not associated with body mass index (BMI) among preschoolers. The analysis was based on the largest, on-going government database on food consumption (NHANES - National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey). The findings of another recent study also published in Pediatrics found there was no connection between juice consumption and body weight among normal weight children and among overweight children who consumed moderate amounts of juice. The American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines allow for 1/2 cup juice for children 1 to 5 years old and 1-1/2 cups juice for older children. When it comes to childhood obesity, researchers agree that more studies are needed on many diet and lifestyle factors, not just beverages. Produced for the Juice Products Association

Disease Awareness Makes Its Way to the Big Screen in First of Its Kind Documentary Centocor, is proud to announce the world premiere of INNERSTATE, a first of its kind documentary providing insight into the inner states of three everyday adults facing chronic, life altering inflammatory diseases. As they confront daily challenges and life's experiences, they tell the emotional stories of their journeys toward living normal lives in a film that is sure to touch the hearts of all viewers, including the millions of Americans who suffer from these conditions. The premiere will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Directors Guild of America Theatre in New York. INNERSTATE traces the paths of three different people, as they transcend their diseases to find happiness, while learning the meaning of inner strength, said film director Chris Valentino. It is a film about building hope, and it speaks to anyone who has ever been confronted with a seemingly impossible challenge. INNERSTATE follows the lives of Jason, a restaurant manager living with psoriasis; Ray, a racecar driver and NASCAR hopeful sidetracked by Crohn's disease; and Janie, an aspiring country music artist living with rheumatoid arthritis RA. Viewers will journey with Jason, Ray and Janie to experience their physical and emotional struggles, their different treatment paths and the impact their conditions have had on those who love them. By artfully striking a balance between entertainment and education, the film paints an intimate portrait of their lives and provides powerful inspiration to anyone, especially those whose lives have been touched by chronic illness. This film is the first opportunity of its kind for patients, physicians and the general public to get a intimate look at the human story behind these conditions, said Dr. Alan Menter, Baylor Research Institute, Dallas, and Jason's dermatologist for more than 25 years. I feel strongly that INNERSTATE will help others diagnosed with similar diseases of the immune system realize that they are not alone and that people just like them have overcome significant challenges and are now living productive lives. INNERSTATE aims to elevate the voices, stories and successes of patients, as well as to broaden awareness of immune related diseases. In partnership with New York's premier production company Creative Group, Inc. and with support from national and local patient advocacy groups, Centocor is bringing this initiative to the millions of people, and their families, affected by diseases of the immune system. The INNERSTATE campaign will feature an interactive component, MyINNERSTATE website, and multiple screening events for the general public in major cities across the country throughout 2007. Following the screenings, patients will have the opportunity to participate in a discussion with local physician experts and support groups, as well as patients featured in the film.

Dr. Lam shows a closeup of his hair transplant work. For more information, please visit www.hairtx****. These videos of Dr. Lam's hair transplant work were taken with a macro lens to show how natural and seamless hair restoration can be. Still photographs at a distance cannot convey the same degree of information as high-resolution closeup macro video footage can. These videos position you as if you were standing literally a foot away from the patient and inspecting Dr. Lam's hair transplant work under very close scrutiny with bright flood lamps. Even at close range, Dr. Lam's work remains absolutely undetectable. Quality hair restoration that delivers a natural result is predicated on multiple factors, including a well-designed and natural hairline, precise and gentle graft dissection, perfectly designed, interlocked and angled recipient sites, and atraumatic and correctly positioned grafts. The attention to detail at the Lam Institute for Hair Restoration is visible at any distance. Dr. Lam graduated as Valedictorian from Cistercian Preparatory School and completed his undergraduate degree at Princeton University and his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine, both with honors. He trained for six years in head and neck surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City and then completed a prestigious fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in which he refined his technique for hair restoration. Dr. Lam has written over 100 scientific articles and book chapters as well as three major medical textbooks. He has written numerous scientific articles on hair restoration in distinguished journals like Dermatologic Surgery as well as a textbook on hair transplantation, Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation, published by Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins. Dr. Lam's textbook on hair restoration covers state-of-the-art follicular grafting techniques as well as medical management for hair loss and has been a national and international bestseller to teach surgeons his advanced techniques. His articles on hair restoration have been translated into French and Spanish, and his textbook has been translated into Spanish and Portuguese. A project done for Chris Hansen's Field Production class at Baylor University. A script was given to the class and each student had to try to interpret this script. They could add a beginning and an ending to make their story work. *Please ignore the pixelations along the right side, the producer was having problems with the tape at the time.

Tony T Breaks down the March Madness NCAA Tournament and offers 16 NCAA Tournament Day 1 selections on this edition of Tony T' Sports Bets airing now on *******www.GamblersTelevision****. All eyes will be on freshman OJ Mayo and Michael Beasley but which freshman will get the most support from teammates?? We need to look at the team surrounding each player and right now USC is playing better team basketball and team defense than Kansas St. Kansas St has fallen off form since beating Kansas over a month ago. Kansas St are losers of 5 of their last 7 and allowing teams to shoot at high percentage. OJ Mayo isn’t all of USC’s offense and Michael Beasley is for the Wildcats. Beasley put up 44 against Baylor and 39 against Kansas all resulting in losses. What does that say about the team surrounding him?? Which team in the Pac 10 allows the lowest shooting percentage to their opponents?? I am sure many will guess Stanford, UCLA and Washington St and no one would guess USC. That’s right, USC allows only 39.1% shooting making them the best defense team in the Pac 10. That says a lot about Tim Floyd as head coach with a freshman superstar OJ Mayo on his team battling the Arizona’s, Washington St’s, Stanford’s, Oregon’s and UCLA’s 2 to 3 times this season. UCLA did not get to 40% shooting in three meetings this season. I will take Tim Floyd against a 1-man team. Enough, Take USC –2.5. USC is the absolute NUTS and my best play on Thursday. Selection: USC –2.5

gamblerstelevision**** Tony T here with our “Rockstar” quick hitter for Saturday’s action. On HBO on Saturday night a fight in the Heavyweight division as Wladimir Klitschko will take on Tony Thompson for Klitschko’s IBF Heavyweight Title. Klitschko has won his last 8 fights in a row and is a huge favorite at –550 and Thompson coming back is +400. The over under round prop is 9 1/2. I believe in this fight Klitschko will be able to effectively get to Thompson. Thompson is a guy who doesn’t have the greatest footwork in the ring and he lacks speed with his punches. Thompson last fought Luan Krasniqi and Cliff Couser beating both men by TKO but the competition was not very impressive. Couser has lost 6 of his last 7 fights. Wladimir has been well schooled by Emanuel Steward in his career and the Ukrainian will be able to mount offense in this one. Klitschko’s hometown is in Hamburg Germany, which is the location for the fight. The fans will get what they want a convincing victory by their hometown hero. Very simple here Wladimir to win and under 9 ½ rounds. I really like a play here from College Football and it involves the winner from the Big 12 Conference this year in college football. The Oklahoma Sooners are loaded on both sides of the ball. Sam Bradford is an outstanding quarterback. He is coming off a freshman best 36 touchdown passes as the team ranked 5th in the nation in scoring averaging over 42 points per game. He has seniors to throw to in Juaquin Iglesias and Manuel Johnson. Their running game is solid with DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown. All 5 starters return on the offensive line for the Sooners. Auston English returns to the D line with his league leading 9 ½ sacks last season. The secondary has two capable seniors in Nic Harris and Lendy Holmes leading the unit. This Sooner team is going to be pretty darn good this season. They host Kansas, Texas Tech and Nebraska with Texas being a neutral site game. Texas returns only 6 starters on defense and gave up tons of yards through the air last season. Road games in conference are all winnable against Baylor, Oklahoma St, Kansas St and Texas A&M. All lower tier conference teams. No Missouri and Chase Daniels on the regular season schedule. Play on the Oklahoma Sooners to win the Big 12 Conference at +150. Tony T from *******www.GamblersTelevision**** selects his 2008 NCAA College Football Big 12 South Conference winner. Tony T here with our “Rockstar” quick hitter from College Football. A few days back I gave you Oklahoma to win the Big 12 Conference Title at +150. Well low and behold I found a prop bet out there where you can bet on the Big 12 South and North Champion. Let me tell you right now the Oklahoma Sooners are the rock solid nuts to win the Big 12 South at +100. In the South are Texas, Oklahoma St, Baylor, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Oklahoma is simply loaded on both sides of the ball. All 5 offensive linemen are back from a team that averaged over 42 points per game. Sam Bradford is coming off a 36 TD performance last season as a freshman. The Sooners are stocked with solid receiving corps and running backs and a good defense. The schedule is very favorable for the Sooners in 2008. Texas returns only 6 starters on defense and defensively had troubles stopping the pass. Oklahoma is the absolute nuts to win the Big 12 South at +100. Play on the Oklahoma Sooners to win the Big 12 South Conference at +100.
