Outside of Marrakesh, the Berbers put on an amazing performance of music, dancing, horsemanship, and general entertainment that can compete with Las Vegas. Old Fez defies the centuries with residential and commercial areas little changed from medieval times. It's a gigantic time capsule, full of narrow, twisting lanes that prevent motorized vehicles from entering. Transport is by horse and mule. This clip also shows a few modern adaptations. The clip is a segment of "From Flamenco to Fez", presenting a trip to Spain, Morocco, and Portugal. It features Madrid, Toledo, Grenada (the Alhambra), Seville (Spain), Fez and Marrakesh in Morocco, Lisbon, & Fatima in Portugal, plus a lavish Berber spectacle of music, dancing, & horse riding. This is our little "Mozart" and she is 18 months into a multi year, open ended trip around the world, that started when she was five. She started playing the violin at 23 months old, so we thought it would be fun to mark her unique odyssey by playing her violin around the world at key places. This is the first installment, with the most exciting moment being her concert in the Sahara. She rode in on a camel and played for 60 Berber kids that have no running water and have never seen a violin. The beauty that we are seeing and the kindness of people every where, makes this world seem like heaven. This experience has been a great gift to us and we would like to share some of it with you. Enjoy!

My last day in Spain was spent relaxing in a park where a wide variety of musicians performed, everything from American jazz, to Spanish music, and finally the pan pipes of Andean music, brought back to Madrid by descendants of the people Spain conquered nearly 500 years ago. This clip is a segment of "From Flamenco to Fez", presenting a 2 continent, 3 country trip to Spain, Morocco, and Portugal. It features Madrid, Toledo, Grenada (the Alhambra), Seville (Spain), Fez and Marrakesh in Morocco, Lisbon, & Fatima in Portugal, including a lavish Berber spectacle of music, dancing, and horse riding.
