A cemetery is a place in which dead and cremated remains are buried. The term cemetery (from Greek sleeping place) implies that the land is specifically designated as a burying ground. Cemeteries in the Western world are the place where the final ceremonies of death are observed. These ceremonies or rites differ according to cultural practice and religious belief. Cemeteries are distinguished from other burial grounds by their location; they are usually not adjoined to a church.

The Potala Palace, a 13-story complex on Lhasa's Red Hill, was originally built by King Songtsen Gampo in the seventh century for the princess he was to marry. The palace contains over 1,000 rooms, 10,000 shrines, and some 200,000 statues; it has been both the home and burial site of numerous Dalai Lamas. Buddhists travel long distances, often by foot, to visit the sacred palace. explore™ (*******explore****) is a multimedia organization that documents leaders around the world who have devoted their lives to extraordinary causes. In 247 BCE, Emperor Qin Shi Huang had 700,000 workers construct a tomb lined with thousands of life-sized terracotta warriors and horses, whose purpose was to help protect the emperor in his afterlife. It took them over 38 years to construct the burial place. To protect the secrecy and safety of its location, workers with knowledge of the site were buried alive in the tomb. Are there vampires? Who was actually Dracula? How did he die and where is his body? I shall try to answer these questions here because he originally was a man who lived and died just like anybody in the borders of the Ottoman Empire and hi shead was burried in Istanbul where I live.Briefly he was educated in the Ottoman empire to be a prince of Rumenia After he was sent to his country he had an unjust way of ruling and made very bad things to people around him including Romenians, Bulgarians and Turks like drinking their bloods. Finally he rebelled to Turks and he was killed in a war and his head was cut and brought to Istanbul and buried in the famous street of Karaköy named "the Street of Banks "or with old name "The prince street" . I decided to explain these facts to your esteemed side because may be some historicians who are interested with this case and have relations with Turkey may try to find his head . Vampires are mythological or folkloric creatures believed to subsist on human blood. In folklore, the term usually refers to the blood-drinking humans of Eastern European legends.Vampires are a frequent subject of fictional books and films, however, the main source for today's popular vampire belief seems to have originated in Transylvania, the home of Prince Vlad the Impaler. Vlad Tepes, the ruler of Carpatia is a historical figure who is very well known in Turkey for his murders against the Ottoman Turks. Dracula means "the son of the Devil' which is Dracul in Romanian. His way of o using long sticks to have prisoners killed , gave him the name "Vlad the Impaler" or "Kazıklı Voyvoda" in Turkish. Vlad Dracula when he was a small child firstly was brought to the Ottoman palace in Edirne --west Turkey- to be educated and to be sent as a governer to Romania .His best friend was the small Sultan Mehmet 2. who would conquer Istanbul later .Two genius children had language, sword, horse riding and leadership lessons for years together and they also became blood brothers. In 1451 he was sent back as a prince to rule Rumenia. In the beginning everything was going very good. He was very close to Ottoman Empire but later some noble Rumenian nationalists wanted to see him as their leader of free Rumenia .Meanwhile he began using alcohol ,lost his justice ruling to people and developed unbelievable persecution methods. His method of torture was a horse attached to each of the victim's legs while a sharpened stick was gradually forced into the body. The end of the stake was usually oiled, and care was taken that the stake not be too sharp; else the victim might die too rapidly from shock. There are claims that thousands of people were killed by sticks at a single time. One such claim says 30,000 were sticked The list of tortures made by him are :nails in heads, cutting off of limbs, blinding, burning, cutting off of noses and ears, mutilation of sexual organs (especially in the case of women), scalping, skinning, exposure to the elements or to animals, and boiling alive. The people also believed that he used to drink human blood to gain devilish powers.E.G. he would have lunch in front of a thousand impaled and slowly dying prisoners Lastly he had the hats of the Ottoman ambassadors nailed on to their heads and Sultan Mehmet 2 decided to get rid of him. Finally Vlad III the Impaler was killed in battle against the Ottoman near Bucharest in December of 1476. Vlad's head was cut off by the Turks .His head was sent to Istanbul and preserved in honey, where the sultan had it displayed on a stick as proof that Dracula was dead. He was reportedly buried at a monastery located near Bucharest, yet the exact place of his burial remains unknown, as excavations at Snagov monastery, usually mentioned as his final resting place, have found no human remains. Now as I told in the beginning there is a street in the famous district of Istanbul named "Bankalar Caddesi"(The street of banks").Its old name was Voyvoda(voievode or prince ) street.Voyvoda was the name given to Romanian princes and it is believed that his head is burried here. So if some historicians are interested with this case and have relations with Turkey may try to find his head and seek it here .For your information. Best Regards

The secrets of the TAJ MAHAL NOW READ THIS....... No one has ever challenged it except Prof. P. N. Oak, who believes the whole world has been duped. In his book Taj Mahal: The True Story, Oak says the Taj Mahal is not Queen Mumtaz's tomb but an ancient Hindu temple palace of Lord Shiva (then known as Tejo Mahalaya ) . In the course of his research O ak discovered that the Shiva temple palace was usurped by Shah Jahan from then Maharaja of Jaipur, Jai Singh. In his own court chronicle, Badshahnama, Shah Jahan admits that an exceptionally beautiful grand mansion in Agra was taken from Jai SIngh for Mumtaz's burial . The ex-Maharaja of Jaipur still retains in his secret collection two orders from Shah Jahan for surrendering the Taj building. Using captured temples and mansions, as a burial place for dead courtiers and royalty was a common practice among Muslim rulers. For example, Humayun,Akbar, Etmud-ud-Daula and Safdarjung are all buried in such mansions. Oak's inquiries began with the name of Taj Mahal. He says the term " Mahal " has never been used for a building in any Muslim countries from Afghanisthan to Algeria . "The unusual explanation that the term Taj Mahal derives from Mumtaz Mahal was illogical in atleast two respects. Firstly, her name was never Mumtaz Mahal but Mumtaz-ul-Zamani," he writes. Secondly, one cannot omit the first three letters 'Mum' from a woman's name to derive the remainder as the name for the building."Taj Mahal, he claims, is a corrupt version of Tejo Mahalaya, or Lord Shiva's Palace . Oak also says the love story of Mumtaz and Shah Jahan is a fairy tale created by court sycophants, blundering historians and sloppy archaeologists . Not a single royal chronicle of Shah Jahan's time corroborates the love story. Furthermore, Oak cites several documents suggesting the Taj Mahal predates Shah Jahan's era, and was a temple dedicated to Shiva, worshipped by Rajputs of Agra city. For example, Prof. Marvin Miller of New York took a few samples from the riverside doorway of the Taj. Carbon dating tests revealed that the door was 300 years older than Shah Jahan. European traveler Johan Albert Mandelslo, who visited Agra in 1638 (only seven years after Mumtaz's death), describes the life of the cit y in his memoirs. But he makes no reference to the Taj Mahal being built. The writings of Peter Mundy, an English visitor to Agra within a year of Mumtaz's death, also suggest the Taj was a noteworthy building well before Shah Jahan's time. Prof. Oak points out a number of design and architectural inconsistencies that support the belief of the Taj Mahal being a typical Hindu temple rather than a mausoleum. Many rooms in the Taj ! Mahal have remained sealed since Shah Jahan's time and are still inaccessible to the public. Oak asserts they contain a headless statue of Lord Shiva and other objects commonly used for worship rituals in Hindu temples . Fearing political backlash, Indira Gandhi's government tried to have Prof. Oak's book withdrawn from the bookstores, and threatened the Indian publisher of the first edition dire consequences . There is only one way to discredit or validate Oak's research. The current government should open the sealed rooms of the Taj Mahal under U.N. supervision, and let international experts investigate. Do circulate this to all you know and let them know about this reality....

For deep in the belly of this small state, Behind the Chestnut Hill Baptist Church in the town of Exeter, lies the grave of New England’s most famous vampire, Mercy Brown. No longer is this fear summoned by the belief in souls rising from the grave though. The telling Mercy’s story has become a long-lived RI tradition. A tradition that combines true local history told in the customary fireside style with a late October night visit to the site where this unusual story took place. Some who have braved these moonlit adventures have returned with tales of strange and frightening experiences. So stoke the fire, turn off the lights and curl up in the easy chair as we roll back the clock to the late 1800’s. George T. Brown was a well respected farmer in Exeter RI. In December 1883 he lost his wife Mary Eliza to consumption. He was given little time to recover from this horrible tragedy when the same disease took his 20-year-old daughter Mary Olive 6 months later. Several years passed and George’s streak of misfortune had seemed to come to an end. His only son Edwin and several daughters all were healthy and strong. Edwin was living in Wickford RI and working as a store clerk when he suddenly became to show signs of consumption. Worried George immediately took Edwin to a doctor. If he too had contracted consumption it would sure lead to death. Edwin traveled to west to Colorado Springs hoping to find a cure in the mineral waters. While Edwin was away George’s daughter Mercy Lena had also contracted the "galloping" variety of consumption. She quickly passed away in January of 1892. Her body was stored in the stone crypt awaiting burial after the spring thaw. Several months later Edwin returned to his family. He had been diagnosed with consumption and his health had made a turn for the worse. At this point, family and friends concluded that the deaths were the result of a vampire and this daemon was living in one of the Brown graves. George decided to turn to an old folk remedy. With the help of Harold Metcalf, a doctor from Wickford, they exhumed the bodies of Mary Eliza, Mary Olive and Mercy Lena to find if any of them were vampires. Mary Eliza and Mary Olive’s bodies had already returned to the earth. Only the skeleton remained. However, Mercy Lena who had only been buried a few months earlier seemed in excellent condition. When they examined her heart, they found what they interrupted as fresh blood. Though Dr. Metcalf assured them that this unexceptional, they felt they had found the daemon. They proceeded to remove her heart and burn it to ashes on a rock nearby. The ashes were mixed in water and consumed by Edwin’s as a medicine for his illness. Unfortunately this didn’t prevent Edwin from passing away 2 months later. To this day people have reported experiencing a variety of strange phenomena within’ the walls of this cemetery. Many witnesses who were interview claimed to have seen the ghost of Mercy strolling through the graveyard on a moonlit night. Others report having heard the crying of a young woman or seeing a bright blue light near Mercy Brown's tombstone. Most people who have visited Mercy’s grave tell of sensing a presence nearby. Feeling as if they are being watched. Whether these experiences were due to heightened emotions or restless spirits, no one can be sure. One thing I can say is that no matter what your beliefs are, an evening visit to Mercy’s grave will send shivers up your spine and scare up some fond memories for you and your friends. Historic Cemetery #22 is off of Victory Highway (RT#102) in Exeter RI. The church and graveyard look like a scene out of the past. Walking down the dirt road into the cemetery, you’ll see the tombstone of William C. Johnson to your right. Cut through the stone, just above what looks like a book, you’ll see a square. From this square you can spy Mercy’s grave left of the road and to the right of a pine tree. Some locals have said that if you hide behind this grave on a moon lit night in October and watch her grave through this square; with silence and patient, you maybe lucky and witness Mercy taking a ghostly stroll through the graveyard. For the more adventurous, some version of the tale say that you have to knock 3 times on her grave and say “Mercy L. Brown are you a vampire?” and Mercy will speak or appear to you. I haven’t heard any stories from those who have tried this method yet. I’m sure there are some interesting tales yet to be uncovered. The park is open to the public year round, dawn to dusk. If you do decide to visit Mercy’s grave, please keep these thing in mind. Don’t go alone. Always have a good flashlight and a second set of batteries. Keep your car keys easily available. Most of all though, please respect the property and the dead so others can continue to enjoy this bizarre bit of Rhode Island History. ~Strange N.E.

He's my son. My son still lay in foreign soil. He is buried in a cemetery where none of his family are. In his ancestral burial ground lay the bodies of Soldiers who have fought in every US War. Still, my Son, my Hero, lay buried in a place without family, without a Church. He is ALONE. I have been Court Ordered to spend only 15 minutes at his grave. I trust in Jesus Christ, as he leads me into the lives of others who are in position to help me. Responses should be sent directly to my myspace email . It is my daily routine to check my email. In each email I find some form of compassion, and some adversity. I appreciate the support and input. Please say a prayer that God will see me through this. HE is my "Heart". Please, help me bring my son HOME.
