My tribute to the western film genre and the classic cowboy. Includes some of the most classic westerns from the silent era to the past decades. A style of movies that have been forgotten through the years and could really use a reboot. As quoted by Tom Mix: "The Old West is not a certain place in a certain time; it's a state of mind." This is my first attempt at a tribute. I wish I could make a movie of my own and use images that I myself have shot. Until then, I hope this tribute is appreciated by the creators of these movies as well as the audiences who not only love them, but perhaps one day will. For those that just like videos, I hope you enjoy this as well. Music by Cee Lo Green "What Part Of Forever". Not only an excellent song, but well deserves an academy award nomination for best song from a movie. Note: I own none of the materials. No copyright infringement intended.

BY BRICE SANDER ANCHOR CHANCE SEALES You're watching multisource entertainment news analysis from Newsy You’ve got judges. Talented singers. And, potentially, millions of viewers. No, we’re not talking about American Idol here, but NBC’s new series, The Voice. Access Hollywood explains the concept. “This is the Dutch version of The Voice. It’s a huge hit in Holland. The show’s twist has the judges only hearing the voices at first, and it’s only when the voice moves them enough to turn their seat around that they actually see the singer.” But, wait – isn’t Fox making this show, too? Fox is set to launch Simon Cowell’s The X Factor this fall, which pairs contestants with music mentors … just like The Voice. (ITV) The Washington Post argues these similarities might shift the competitions’ focus from contestants to viewers. “Suddenly, we’re looking at a war for the hearts and minds of America ... This is far more interesting! The original version of ‘The Voice’ has displaced not only ‘The X Factor’ but also ‘Idol’ and is now the most-watched talent show in Dutch TV history...” Media outlets report NBC sped up production on The Voice, hoping to beat The X Factor to the airwaves. Some even say NBC’s playing dirty, signing Cee-Lo Green and Christina Aguilera as judges after they met with Cowell about joining The X Factor. (YouTube/iliketowatchtvblog) A writer for the UK’s Mirror says Cowell should be worried, especially after losing another possible judge to his former show, American Idol. “He has already been snubbed by Jennifer Lopez in his fight to get the US show off the ground … [and] a source close to Cee Lo said: ‘The Voice is a new show which will be cooler and edgier than the X Factor. Cee Lo was more excited by it.’" But British news channel ITN says don’t count The X Factor out just yet - its first casting choice, music super producer L.A. Reid, packs a lot of punch. “You might not recognize him, but trust us when we say he’s a big cheese. He’s helped the likes of Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Kanye West and Usher to multi-platinum world-domination-like success.” But with The Voice host Carson Daly calling his as-yet-unseen show “the best,” The Hollywood Reporter asks, can we even stomach another singing competition? “It was a bold statement for an underdog series to make. After all, with Idol still drawing 22 million viewers per episode and Simon Cowell’s The X-Factor about to launch its U.S. auditions (not to mention America’s Got Talent still going strong … The Voice … is entering an already crowded field of talent shows.” The Voice premieres April 26th on NBC, just a few weeks after The X Factor’s auditions start. BY BRICE SANDER You're watching multisource entertainment news analysis from Newsy. Reunited and it feels so good. Or does it? Former American Idol adversaries Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul reportedly plan to steam up the small screen for a second time. E! News explains. “Word is Simon has his heart set on casting his former A.I. partner as a judge on the American version of The X Factor ... British singer Cheryl Cole is also reportedly in talks to join the panel, alongside confirmed judge L.A. Reid.” After getting the boot from American Idol and bombing with her own dance show on CBS, Clevver Music urges Abdul to take the job. “Now apparently Abdul’s contract hasn’t been negotiated yet, but, c’mon, she’d be pretty much stupid to say no to an opportunity like this one.” And a blogger for Exec Digital argues Abdul’s needed to balance out the two unknowns joining Simon at the judges’ table. “Even without L.A. Reid and Cheryl Cole, the unique partnership between Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul is going to get people to watch. It was obvious from the moment Paula Abdul was thrown out of Fox’s ‘American Idol’ that Simon wanted her back, and now with his own show, he’s going to get just that.” So it’s probably good for ratings, but what about for the show’s contestants? Deadline’s Nikki Finke questions Cowell’s choices, wondering if Simon can even create a superstar with less-than-stellar mentors. “But will Cowell with this panel that’s more of a ‘ZZZZZZ Factor’ than The X Factor? Cowell has been stung by the impression left by many media outlets that celebrities are refusing his offers to be a judge.” After losing Jennifer Lopez to Idol, and Cee-Lo Green to The Voice, a blogger for Holy Moly suggests Cowell still didn’t find the right mix. “But Cheryl Cole... hmmmm ... sorry Simon - I don't get it … In the states she'll be judged on her merits as a reality show judge, but without the stateside credentials that see Paula Abdul given her wildcard ‘joke’ entry as a judge. Paula was always the worst/best thing about American Idol depending on your perspective, but may feel as though she's no longer Simon's foil with [Cole] wedged in between them.” And in what some are calling a last resort to create buzz, Cowell announced Mariah Carey will join The X Factor in a “limited capacity.” But the always outspoken Wendy Williams wonders, why not just make her a judge? “And I gotta tell you, Mariah Carey- you get her in the right space, she’s gonna bring all the coo-coo crazy. Not as glamorous as Jennifer Lopez, but she’s kitschy, and that’s why I like about Mariah Carey ... She’s cute enough, and just messy enough. Right you guys? Messy. Fox plans to announce the official judging line-up at its upfront presentation next month. http://www.insight.spruz.com __ "Crazy" is the debut single from Gnarls Barkley, a musical collaboration between Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green, and is taken from their 2006 debut album St. Elsewhere. - The song was leaked in late 2005, months before its regular release, and consequently received massive airplay on BBC Radio 1 in the United Kingdom, most notably by radio DJ Zane Lowe, who also used the song in TV ads for his show. When it was finally released in March 2006, it became the first single to top the UK charts on download sales alone. In spite of this deletion, the song became the UK's best selling single of 2006. Due to continued download sales, it reached a million sales in January 2011.
