BY ANDREW HOWARD ANCHOR: ALEX ROZIER You're watching multisource entertainment video news analysis from Newsy Mirror, Mirror on the wall - is Kristen Stewart the fairest of them all? The Twilight actress is slated to take on the iconic role of Snow White in Universal’s new film adaptation “Snow White and the Hunts Man”. Don’t get this confused with Disney’s version though. This retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairytale will be completely re-imagined to appeal to teenage audiences. So does the Twilight star have what it takes to play the beloved princess? Gossip blogger Perez Hilton weighs in. “Clearly, she isn't right for the upbeat, song - happy Disney version of the character, but this movie is going to be dark and gritty…so yeah, we suppose she'll be able to pull this off.” Even CelebTV seems to agree- Stewart is the obvious choice. Anchor: “We think she couldn’t be more perfect for the part. The fair complexion, dark hair, and red lips.” But even though Stewart has landed the role- she may still have some Snow White competition. With the success of Tim Burton’s 2010 worldwide hit - Alice In Wonderland - there’s a new trend in Hollywood - fairy tales. And that means Universal’s Snow White isn’t the only adaption set to hit theaters. E! News reports: “Another flick set to hit theaters next year is The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, with Julia Roberts as its evil queen...This is really heating up the 2012 Snow White movie rivalry. ” And not to be left out, Disney is also preparing a reboot of Snow White titled “Snow and the Seven”. So why remake the popular fairytales? The Guardian says- why not? "The entertainment industry's appetite is voracious for content, plots and ideas and these fairy tales work. They've been around for ever" “Snow White and the Huntsman” is slated for release in December 2012. The Julia Roberts version is set for Summer 2012 and Disney’s Snow and The Seven is expected to hit theaters in 2013. BY CHRISTY LEWIS You're watching multisource entertainment news analysis from Newsy A reportedly sensational book about the 2008 Obama/McCain election… check. A silver screen film adaptation of the book… soon to be checked. An award-winning actress chosen to play Sarah Palin? You "betcha." Taking on the role of head Mama Grizzly could be quite the challenge—between the accent and her famous quotes—so, who could do her character justice in a movie? E! News has the 411. “The brave beauty set to play Palin is none other than Oscar-nominated celeb, Julianne Moore. The 50-year-old’s rep confirms to E! News Moore has been cast as the ex-Alaskan Governor in a new HBO movie titled ‘Game Change.” The movie is based on the book with the same name, written by reporters Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. Moore is currently the first and only cast member media reports have mentioned. And Palin herself told Fox’s Sean Hannity she’s fine with it… “Well, I’m all about job creation… and I guess I could provide some of these gals who pretend like they’re me with some job security.” Bloggers seem to agree on one thing-- Moore is a phenomenal actress. One Café Mom blogger for the Stir goes on to say she’s too good for the film. “Say it isn't so... Where can a Moore fan repudiate this depressing casting choice? I feel like someone has misunderestimated (sic) Moore's talents in this decision to morph her into the you-betcha-ing hockey mama-bear.” Acting skills aside-- a blogger for Slate says she’s worried about Moore’s shot at pulling off Palin’s accent. “I hope Moore leaves the jokey vocal overcompensation at home and actually tries to explore Palin as a complicated character, which she must be, no matter how easily caricaturized (sic) the face she presents to the world might be.” Perhaps the most famous rendition of Palin was Tina Fey’s version on Saturday Night Live. Access Hollywood spoke with some of Fey’s coworkers about how Moore will do in comparison. REPORTER: “Do you think she can top Tina’s performance?” BALDWIN: “No way. I love Julianne, but that’s out of the question.” KRAKOWSKI: “I’m a huge fan of Julianne Moore and I think she’ll do an amazing job. But, it’s hard to follow Miss Fey’s Palin so it will be very interesting to see.” With other possible cast members still up in the air, CelebTV put together a list of possible choices, including who should play current president Barack Obama. “The former Fresh-Prince is a no-brainer for the future Fresh-Prez. He’s got it all. The tude, the build, and most importantly, the ears.” Jay Roach is set to will direct the film and it’s rumored for release before the 2012 election. BY CHRISTY LEWIS You're watching multisource entertainment news analysis from Newsy When it comes to outbreaks in the Middle East, even Justin Bieber can’t catch a break. His plans on a visit to Israel for his “My World 2.0” tour started with prayer and the prime minister... only to be ruined with politics and paparazzi. Israeli headlines are calling this battle, Bieber vs. BiBi-- a common nickname for Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. ABC News has the play-by-play. “Bieber’s plans to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have fallen through. According to the Prime Minister’s office Mr. Netanyahu hoped to get children who had recently come under siege from rocket fire in Gaza to join him in a photo opp with the teen star. But they say Bieber did not want the kids involved in the meeting. The singer’s rep denies that.” Bieber’s representative says the meeting with Netanyahu was never noted in his schedule... Saying logistics, rather than politics were to blame. A Daily Mail writer says, either way, Bieber made up for any beef they may have with him. “At any rate, Bieber had already invited children from the region bordering Gaza to be special guests at his show.” Also while in Israel, Justin wanted to explore the country. But from the looks of things, it wasn’t easy. “He mentioned wanting to quote--walk where Jesus did. But, the paps were so pushy that he was forced back into his hotel room. Apparently the photogs were snapping off pics of him inside some sort of holy building which sent the Biebs into a Twitter tirade.” CelebTV has the tweets from a quote-- “super frustrated” Biebs. “‘You would think the paparazzi would have some respect in holy places. All I wanted was the chance to walk where Jesus did here in Israel. And then he added, ‘They should be ashamed of themselves. Take pictures of me eating but not in a place of prayer, ridiculous.’ And, ‘People wait their whole lives opportunities like this, why would they want to take that experience away from someone.’ Also, ‘Staying in the hotel for the rest of the week, u happy?’” Obviously feeling defeated, Bieber continues to lay low until his scheduled performance at Tel Aviv Thursday. A writer for The First Post thinks Bieber’s decision to hide out is a smart move. “Perhaps Bieber, showing a wisdom beyond his 17 years, could see the way things were going and simply didn't want to be drawn into one of the most intractable geopolitical disputes of the past century.” Next on Bieber’s world tour is Malaysia.
