Radacinile sarbatorii se pierd in negura timpurilor. Abia dupa 1918 li s-a permis revenirea in Schei a Brasovechenilor. "Adevarat c-a inviat!" . In dimineata sarbatorii, junii vor cobori calare in Piata Unirii, unde vor inconjura Troita Capitanului Ilie Birt si vor canta "Hristos a inviat!", fiecare grup in parte. Alaiul Junilor coboara pana in fata Primariei si a Prefecturii Brasov, apoi urca spre Pietrele lui Solomon ("Intre Chetri"), unde fiecare grup isi are masa sa.

Friday, Aug 29, 2008 Former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has declined to endorse either John McCain or Barack Obama, and he told CNN's Kiran Chetry on Thursday that he sees "no difference" between them because both espouse foreign policies that only create more threats to our national interests. Chetry asked Paul, "Do you think it's a valid argument ... that a John McCain administration would be a four-year extension of the Bush administration?" "Sure, but I think that's what's going to happen with Obama, too," Paul replied. "There's no difference." "Their foreign policies are identical," Paul explained. "They want more troops in Afghanistan. They want to send more support to Georgia to protect the oil line there. Neither one says bring home the troops from Iraq from the bases — you know the bases are going to stay there, the embassy as big as the Vatican, that's going to remain. So their foreign policies are exactly the same. They're both very, very aggressive with Iran. So I would say there's no difference."

BY KIM HOJONG You're watching multisource health video news analysis from Newsy. Breast cancer patients do not necessarily have to go through major surgery on their lymph nodes. That’s according to a study released by the New England Journal of Medicine. A medical editor for NBC explains -- the news affects some 30 percent of early stage breast cancer patients. NANCY SNYDERMAN: “This is one of those cases where doing less, according to all the breast cancer experts we talked to, can actually mean better quality of life and really no change in survival for women.” An expert for the New York Times explains why removing fewer lymph nodes doesn’t hurt the breast cancer survival chances. “...the tumors were early, at clinical stage T1 or T2, meaning less than two inches across. Biopsies of one or two armpit nodes had found cancer, but the nodes were not enlarged enough to be felt during an exam, and the cancer had not spread anywhere else.” CNN reports the news is important because lymph node dissection can be painful and sometimes even disabling. Dr. Monica Morrow, the surgical oncologist who led the study, says it’s another important step in the fight against breast cancer. KIRAN CHETRY, CNN: “What about to your colleagues out there -- other doctors across countries -- who are performing breast cancer surgery. How do you bring them on board and get them to perhaps changing thinking? Which for so long has been, ‘Let’s get these nodes out.’” DR. MONICA MORROW: “The change is definitely hard, but I think this is not a finding in isolation. ... This is just the next step in that evolution. Drug therapy gets better and surgery can get smaller.” But, Dr. Katherine Lee, a women’s health expert at the Cleveland Clinic, said the debate over lymph nodes testing is nothing new. “...how do we treat these cancer cells that are found in these lymph nodes that we didn’t initially find? That’s the important question here. And this study suggests that maybe we don’t have to treat all of these lymph nodes that may have a little bit of cancer cells detected in them.” Like Newsy on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for daily updates. BY ALYSSA CARTEE ANCHOR MEGAN MURPHY You're watching multisource world news analysis from Newsy CBS War Correspondent Lara Logan is back in the U.S. recovering from a brutal attack while covering the celebrations of Hosni Mubarak’s resignation. According to the network, Logan was separated from the rest of her crew and was then brutally beaten and sexually assaulted during the celebrations. A group of Egyptian women and soldiers reportedly saved her. Logan was later reunited with her crew and flown back to the United States to be treated in a Washington, D.C. hospital. (Video from: WACH) The attack has sparked discussion around the world about the safety of foreign correspondents in war zones and other unsafe confines. ITN News reports this was not an isolated incident. “According to Media Watchdog, a committee to protect journalists, at least 52 journalists were attacked and 76 imprisoned during the unrest in Egypt that lead Mubarak to step down after 30 years in power.” The incident has sparked debate over the safety in women in war zones. CNN’s Kiran Chetry spoke with Columbia University Journalism Professor and former foreign correspondent Judith Matloff. The two women journalists discuss the dangers of their profession. “I think if you will sit down with a bunch of female foreign correspondents who cover conflict over the bar in the evening, most of them will probably tell you this is a woman’s worst nightmare. I mean, I’ve had colleagues who have gone as far as to say that they’d rather be killed than have something like this happen.” A columnist for The Washington Post points out that says violence against women in Egypt is a an near daily occurrence. “This sort of story has a pernicious staying power: Not a faceless statistic, but a known, blonde, white woman. Fortunately or unfortunately, these are the stories that linger … In 2008, as Slate reporter Sarah Topol noted, a study by the Egyptian Centre for Women's Rights reported that 83 percent of women experienced harassment - and that 98 percent of foreign women visitors did.” Not everyone thinks Logan deserves sympathy. NYU fellow Nir Rosen caused outrage in the Twittersphere for comments he made about Logan. "I'm rolling my eyes at all the attention she'll get." “lara logan had to outdo anderson [Cooper]...” “...at a moment when she is going to become a martyr and glorified we should at least remember her role as a major war monger.” Nir Rosen offered his resignation Wednesday morning. Salon’s Mary Elizabeth Williams notes, it would be easy to paint broad strokes as to “why” this happened, saying that would be a mistake. “She was assaulted doing her job. It was a crime of unspeakable violence. And your opinion of how she does that job, the religion her assailants share with a few million other people, or the color of her hair had nothing to do with it.” KATU News in Portland revisits an interview CNN had with Logan which shows she was fully aware of the risks of her job. Anchor: “Why do you subject yourself to these risks?” Logan: “I’m absolutely committed to this. I see this as my responsibility that if you’re going to send soldiers to war in other people’s lands, you have responsibility for the people of this country and the people around the world.” The network says, she is now recovering at home with her family.
