January 2007 (Medialink) - It's over one million square feet of the hottest high-tech wonders. At this year's Consumer Electronics Show, it's all about enhancing your experience.
It's called immersive technology that pulls you in through sight, sound, and touch to enhance your experience even more. One of the most interactive is the new AmBX video game system. It has sensory enhancements like atmospheric lighting, fans to recreate wind, and a vibration unit to bring all the action to life and transport players into the game.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the flat screen TV, Philips is debuting its largest LCD, a 52" Ambilight - now with the highest available resolution for high definition. Glowing light on the sides of the set creates a surround-sight effect. The ambient light widens your viewing area and draws you more into the picture.
To heighten your home theater experience, there's a new Ambisound Soundbar. It's a sleek 5-inch thick bar that creates the same surround sound as a 5.1 speaker system. It's a horizontal bar that bends sound around you for a full surround sound experience without multiple wires and speakers.
Produced for Philips

This is the ULTIMATE gaming PC by ALIENWARE being exhibited at the 2008 CES Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas
We caught up with Jay Leboff and talked about NRG Dock Personal Solar Solutions nrgdock****. This is the first green solar product I have seen that is specifically targeted at re-charging your portable devices. The idea for the product was hatched after he was without power during a storm for several days and needed a way to recharge his cell phone and other portable devices.
This product line works with those in rental units or who own a home of their own very clean and slick this is probably one of the most innovative solar products I saw at the Consumer Electronics Show 2008
From their website "NRG Dock’s® photovoltaic cell charges its power station, storing energy for whenever you need it. NRG Dock’s® regulator ensures the proper voltage for powering and/or charging personal communication devices - including laptops."
Intel has an exciting new processor chip that will be in all new Ultra Mobile PC's in the coming months. Bringing more power, lower heat and significantly reduced power consumption. While I got to touch one of the chips I was not able to keep it.
What this chip is going to do is cause Ultra Mobile PC to get smaller and provide more power to the end user. Next year when we go to the Consumer Electronics Show we will have Menlo powered UMPC in our back packs streaming video live.
Really exciting stuff coming from Intel and we will have a whole slew of vendors putting out UMPC with the new Intel Menlo processor.
Andy McCaskey from Slashdotreview Interviews the CEO of Juice Caster from JuiceCaster**** at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show and talks about the cell phone based social networking product that they have, that is integrated with at least 4 of the major carriers.
It delivers some of the features of YouTube, MySpace and Facebook on a cell phone. One of the things they have done is try to make it useful to everyone. Juice Caster is about connecting your cell phone to MySpace, Friendster their online site is not what they consider a destination portal.
Instead their is a widget that you can place on Facebook and MySpace that will let you push pictures to those profiles plus a whole lot more.

For the past year I have had a Neat Receipts scanner that travels everywhere I go and I use for not only scanning documents while I am on the road but also to keep business cards collected and regular business receipts organized.
In catching up with them I found out that they have a upgrade version of their software available today. So while the scanner remains a item I continue to travel with the software upgrade is a welcome addition.
Check out what the folks at Neat Receipts had to say at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show
