Balanced Health Today Call Now 1(888)277-4980 The types of microorganisms that lead to the different fungal infections vary, as do the factors that trigger off their overgrown and invasion of the body. A type of fungus known as Tinea is what leads to Athlete’s Foot, Ringworm and Jock Itch. However, other common fungal infections, such as vaginal yeast, oral thrush and fungal gastroenteritis are a result of the overgrowth of the Candida Albicans fungus. In case you happen to inhale fungal spores, you could be susceptible to a fungal infection in the lungs. The factors that can lead to such fungal infections are many and include: Antibiotics: It is not just the disease-causing bacteria that die when you take any kind of antibiotics; some of the healthy bacteria in your body may also get killed because of them. This could lead to an imbalance in the microorganisms that are present in your mouth, intestines, vagina, and so on. This results in an overgrowth of the Candida Albicans fungi. Weakened Immune System: In case you have a compromised immune system because of conditions such as AIDS/ HIV, you are more prone to infections and diseases, including fungal infections. Even those who do not have a strong immune system, because they are too young or too old, may end up getting fungal infections more often, as compared to the others. Diabetes: This condition allows the Candida fungi to flourish within a body, often leading to an overgrowth. Lack of Hygiene: Those who do not follow adequate hygienic measures like washing hands at regular intervals, taking a shower every day or wearing fresh clothing are highly vulnerable to fungal infections. Personal Contact: You could easily contract a fungal infection through contact with someone who is already infected. Apart from personal physical contact, this could also occur in case you share linens, clothes, utensils, combs, shoes or other personal items with an infected person.

Balanced Health Today Call Now 1(888)277-4980 The effect of mercury exposure depends on the type of mercury. In general, mercury tends to affect the nervous system. This means that unborn babies and children are at more risk because their nervous systems are developing. People at higher risk from mercury exposure include: * unborn babies * infants * children up to six years of age * workers in industrial settings where mercury is used or produced * people with kidney disease * people born before the 1950s who were exposed to mercury in baby products and contracted pink disease. Pregnant women should avoid mercury so that it is not transmitted to their unborn baby via the bloodstream. Levels of mercury in breastmilk are normally not high enough to be a risk for babies.

Balanced Health Today Call Now 1(888)277-4980 Carrying Away Waste Lymph fluid drains into tiny vessels called lymph capillaries. The fluid is then pushed along through the capillaries when a person breathes or the muscles contract. The lymph capillaries are very thin. They have many tiny openings that let gases, water, and nutrients pass through to the surrounding cells, nourishing them and taking away waste products. When lymph fluid passes through in this way it is called interstitial fluid. Lymph vessels collect the interstitial fluid and then return it to the bloodstream by emptying it into large veins in the upper chest, near the neck. Fighting Infection Lymph fluid enters the lymph nodes, where macrophages fight off foreign bodies like bacteria, removing them from the bloodstream. After these substances have been filtered out, the lymph fluid leaves the lymph nodes and returns to the veins, where it re-enters the bloodstream. When a person has an infection, germs collect in the lymph nodes. If the throat is infected, for example, the lymph nodes of the neck may swell. That's why doctors check for swollen lymph nodes sometime called swollen glands but they're actually lymph nodes in the neck when your throat is infected.
