L-Carnitine is a supplementary medical treatment designed for elderly patients, and a recent study showed that it has the ability to improve cognitive ability and reduce fatigue. The study focused on patients who were at or above the age of 100. L-Carnitine is produced naturally by the body, but with age the production of L-Carnitine naturally diminishes. It's found especially in the brain, heart, immune system cells, nerves, sperm and muscles. Without it, the human body simply cannot sustain itself. When the study was concluded, researchers found that L-Carnitine supplementation could reduce body fat, build muscle, reduce fatigue, help with weight management and improve mental health and ability. While this study focused on the elderly, L-Carnitine is an essential nutrient for a person of any age. It's a legal supplement that can be found in nutrition stores everywhere. Always take L-Carnitine with the advice and consent of a licensed physician. Overdose of L-Carnitine can lead to nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, cramping and other stomach issues. After gallbladder surgery, digestion can be tricky for a while. Here's what to avoid. When you have a problem with your gallbladder, like gallstones, your doctor may recommend that you have surgery to remove your gallbladder. Your gallbladder is an organ that you can live without, but some people need to avoid certain foods after gallbladder removal. The Gallbladder and Digestion The gallbladder is a small organ that sits under your liver. It stores, concentrates, and helps secrete bile, a liquid made by your liver that helps digest fatty foods. If you need to have surgery to remove your gallbladder, your liver still makes enough bile for normal digestion. Even so, it is not unusual for people to have some difficulty digesting certain foods in the days and weeks following gallbladder surgery, also called a cholecystectomy. Dietary Adjustments It's important to carefully follow your doctor's instructions about your diet after gallbladder surgery. If you're hospitalized, your medical team will help you transition from a liquid to a solid diet almost immediately after your gallbladder surgery. If you're recovering at home, you'll need to introduce foods slowly and consume mainly clear liquids, like broth and gelatin, at first. If you feel ready and are not nauseated, you can slowly begin introducing solid foods back into your diet as you start feeling better. But you may need to avoid certain types of foods for a while. More than half of people who have recently had gallbladder surgery report problems with digesting fats following their surgery. This is because your gallbladder is no longer there to control the release of bile into your intestines after you eat a meal. Instead, a small amount of bile is now directly "leaked" from your liver into your small intestine at a slow, constant rate. It can take a few weeks for your body to get used to this change, and you may experience bloating, diarrhea, and gas after eating fatty foods during this time.

Side Effects From Beta Blockers - What Are Side Effects From Beta Blockers? Beta blockers, beta-adrenergic blocking agents, work by blocking adrenaline. Their use in treating both common and serious conditions is on the rise. However, because of serious side effects resulting from their use, they are not often regarded as a first choice in treatment. The intended effects of this medicine are to lower the heart rate, dilate blood vessels and, in some cases, constrict air pathways. For this reason, they are used in the treatment of arrhythmia, high blood pressure, heart failure, angina, tremor, migraines and glaucoma. As with any drug, side effects can be a problem. In some cases, beta blockers side effects include diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting. They have also been linked to rashes, blurred vision, muscle cramps, fatigue and sexual dysfunction. In other cases, they have been shown to cause headaches and dizziness. That adds up to quite a few side effects. For some people, there is a concern about beta blockers side effects as a contributor to psychological problems such as depression, confusion, nightmares and hallucinations. Because of those beta blockers side effects, it is obvious that women anticipating pregnancy, who are currently pregnant or are currently breastfeeding should not take them.
