*** This song is featured on The Potential Collection: Volume 1 *** Acoustic Compilation CD available to buy from Website. *******www.TheZodiacSessions**** *******www.myspace****/thezodiacsessions *******www.youtube****/thezodiacsessions *******www.bebo****/thezodiacsessions Ray Heffernan playing "Let Go Of The Wheel" at The Zodiac Sessions open mic night, Dublin, Ireland. RAY HEFFERNAN I write songs about what I see and feel. I believe everything is song. Modern methods of communication belie the natural sounds we make to communicate without language structure, or imposed sentence. Music reaches us on an instinctive level, and we emotionally respond to music without thinking or formulating words. With this as my credo, I write and create and pursue my dream of living the life of a bard, integrating new cultures, and learning new languages and ideas, to try to create beautiful songs or images of everything we feel and live. I see all art as document of our evolution, signposts for life. Songs to me, are a way of communicating pure emotion, beyond the confines of language or creed. I'm moved by beautiful things, and passionate about injustice. *******www.rayheffernan**** *******www.myspace****/rayheffernan

Acoustic Compilation CD available to buy from Website. *******www.TheZodiacSessions**** *******www.myspace****/thezodiacsessions *******www.youtube****/thezodiacsessions *******www.bebo****/thezodiacsessions Gordon Reeves playing "Old Desire Blues" at The Zodiac Sessions open mic night, Dublin, Ireland. GORDON REEVES "My name is Gordon Reeves, I'm from North Dublin, Ireland. And I don't know what I am. I'm not sure I even want to know what I am or what the type of music I make is called. But curiousity got the better of me. I even went as far as a dictionary for an anwser. Some people have called me a folk singer. Theres a million definitions of what a folk singer is and some of them very specific! But I couldn't say I fit into any of them. "Music which arises from the circumstances of the common man" - that is the closest one that gave me any real inclusion. Somewhere I read Louis Armstrong said "all music is folk music, leastwise I ain't never heard a horse sing." Those words sums up my feelings more than any other I could find. I was lucky enough to have the good fortune to meet a German on my travels who heard me play some songs and liked what he heard. This man, Frank Scheller is his name, offered me the invitation to come and record in his studio in Germany. To cut a long story short the results were my first album "live from the living room" in 2006. In 2008 I signed to the German label Tonetoaster and returned to the studio. My second album "the rising tide" will be released in spring 2009. I hope anyone who listens to these recordings will get something from them for their trouble. That's what I really think folk music is: sharing. Sharing thoughts, feelings, anger, love, life, death and everything in between. Yeah, I like the sound of that! So that suits me fine." *******www.myspace****/gordonreeves

Acoustic Compilation CD available to buy from Website. *******www.TheZodiacSessions**** *******www.myspace****/thezodiacsessions *******www.youtube****/thezodiacsessions *******www.bebo****/thezodiacsessions Rory McDonnell playing "Fear Of Lights" at The Zodiac Sessions open mic night, Dublin, Ireland. RORY MCDONNELL Started playing guitar when I was 12. Wrote my first song 'My Face' a year later. Was a finalist in the 2005 Jacobs Songwriting Contest. I then decided to record my first E.P. 'Rory' during the summer of the same year in my friend Mark O'Sullivan's house on his Mac. Released it in August of 2005. A year of nothingness then during the winter of 2006 to summer 2007 I recorded the aptly named 'It Fell Off' which hasn't been offically released yet. 'UpsideDown Goldfish' from 'Rory' was made into a music video by Bryan Joseph O'Sullivan (I find O'Sullivans are good workers and generally do what they're told) and was entered in the 2007 Fresh Film Festival where it won Best Animation. I know... Pretty cool... At the moment I play my own stuff, I'm also in a Country/Rock Band with Gloria Maria. If you want a background like mine, go to squidfingers**** for a load of different patterns. Don't forget to give him credit tho. *******www.myspace****/whereisrory

MARZ ROCHE Marz Roche (Record Of The Day & Music Week Tip) was born in Co. Mayo deep in the heart of the west of Ireland. An area rich with culture and tradition. Here, he was exposed to traditional Irish music from an early age. He soon found a passion for it and it wasn't long before Marz began playing both the guitar and piano. By age twelve he was playing in the local traditional group. It wasn't until his teenage years that he fully discovered the joys of Rock n' Roll and he and his brother Padraic began to avidly collect LPs by artists such as U2, Fleetwood Mac, The Beach Boys and Stevie Wonder. He spent nights on end figuring out guitar and piano parts for these songs and he and his brother would work out the vocal harmonies between them - it was these early teenage years that would shape Marz's song writing. He began writing his own material at age 15, 2 years later while still in school he was performing his brand of folk and laid back acoustic material up and down the west coast of Ireland. After secondary school he moved to Dublin to study primary school education. Here he reveled in the bustling Dublin music scene, doing singer/ songwriter nights 3 times a week and playing in various different bands. After the first year of college he had gained a significant following and had gained the respect of his peers. It became clear to him that the the next logical step was to record. Soon after he finished the 3 track demo it made its way into the hands of Religion Music who were impressed by his unique voice and his finely crafted songs. *******www.myspace****/marzroche

TOM COPSON Tom Copson is a singer songwriter with a ‘life changing’ voice for the listener. His songs exert honesty, passion and frailty upon his audience during all of his positively infectious performances, live or otherwise. Working with producer Stu Reid, Tom has a new E.P. coming out on the 15th March in his musical home town of Cambridge. Along with more recordings this is set to be followed by extensive touring all around the country through to the summer, the festival season, and beyond. Since October Tom has been touring the ‘Candle’ single with much praise and interest, resulting in the ears of various A&R, music promoters, and the avid music lover being pricked. Tom has supported many well known acts such as Jose Gonzalez, Scott Matthews, Jamie T, Paul Curreri and most recently Frank Hamilton. As well as the E.P. launch March will see a Radio Performance at the Late Gig Sessions on Radio Swindon, and a performance at top London acoustic venue, ‘The Troubadour.’ realeditorbest profile toolsrealeditorbest profile tools *******www.myspace****/tomcopson
