Ford doesn't build Mustangs to fly. That was true back in 1968 when Steve McQueen sent a GT 390 soaring over the hills of San Francisco in Bullitt. And it's true of the new 315-horsepower 2008 Mustang Bullitt. We jumped it anyway. Not because we wanted to, but because we had to. It's a Mustang Bullitt, and that means it's gotta fly. Check out the article on Edmunds' Inside Line:

I am no Gordon Lightfoot but my song Remember the Edmund is a tribute to the Wreck, the Captain and Crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald, launched on June 8, 1958. Until 1971 she was the largest ship on the Great Lakes. Although she had reported having some difficulties during a gale on Lake Superior the Fitzgerald sank suddenly on November 10, 1975 in 535 feet of water without sending any distress signals. The site of the loss is: in Canadian waters approximately 17 miles from the entrance to Whitefish Bay. All 29 hands in the crew perished, presumably by drowning. The incident is the most famous disaster in the history of Great Lakes shipping, and is the subject of Gordon Lightfoots hit song, "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

FULL MERCEDES E550 ARTICLE INSIDELINE.COM: *******www.edmunds****/insideline/do/Drives/FullTests/articleId=147866?* Here's the biggest difference between the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E550 and the 2009 Mercedes-Benz E550: The 2010 costs $5,400 less. Usually, we save money matters for the end of a Mercedes E-Class road test. First we tell you that it has a perfectly relaxing ride quality and a smooth V8 with an indiscreet amount of torque. Then we describe a down-to-business cabin dominated by leather, wood and COMAND. Finally, though, we have to talk about money, and, well, Benz has a well-earned reputation for pricing its sedans higher than everybody else. But this time it's different. When the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E550 goes on sale in June, its $57,175 base price will land it smack in the middle of the V8 midsize luxury sedan class. It's also cheaper than anything else coming out of Germany.

Caught for the first time on a test track in Germany, the 2009 Subaru WRX STI looks as though it has enough upgrades to quiet the uproar over the standard model's tepid styling. Although the prototype in question still had some camouflage over the front and rear fascias, there are notable changes in store for the next-generation WRX STI.

The 2008 BMW M3 will appear any day now. It'll have a 414-horsepower V8 engine, a carbon-fiber roof and more high-tech electronics than your nearest Circuit City. It's the start of something big. It's also the end of something. We're saying good-bye to the E46 M3, the tightly shaped coupe with the inline-6. No other car has meant so much to guys who really care about cars and fast driving.

In a few short months, we'll have all the information we could possibly want about the 2008 Honda Accord coupe and sedan. It's set to go on sale this fall, so even though we managed to catch a few prototypes conducting hot-weather testing in the California desert, most of the major details are already set in stone. We know for sure that the hybrid model is gone. Slow sales of the performance-oriented hybrid made it a one-generation wonder, so the top-of-the-line Accord for 2008 will carry a conventional gasoline-fueled V6. We're expecting power levels somewhere north of 260 horses, so this Accord will be one of the faster family sedans in the segment.

You would think the 435-horsepower Audi S6 would be enough to satisfy most Audi enthusiasts, but of course there are always a few rich guys who want more. They'll get more with the introduction of the 2008 Audi RS 6. Caught lapping the Nürburgring test track, it's Audi's latest entry into the German super-sedan war. At first glance this prototype doesn't look much different than the standard S6, which doesn't look that much different from an A6 for that matter. There are visible differences on this test mule, however, and most of them point to an RS-spec car.....

So you want the big news with the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX? It makes the same power but is lighter, roomier and still rips to 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds. This is a rare combination. These days, every new model weighs more than the one before, and manufacturers keep adding power to compensate. Subaru has done exactly the opposite. Through the same clever engineering that brought the WRX to the U.S. in the first place, the Japanese car maker has minimized the weight of this more spacious, all-wheel-drive WRX to retain its head-snapping acceleration.
