BY CHRISTY LEWIS You're watching multisource entertainment news analysis from Newsy. The Black Eyed Peas is taking time out of their hit-making music lives to give back. This week, the group announced plans to open a high-tech urban arts academy in New York City for kids who want to succeed in the music business. (New York Magazine reports...) “It's called the Peapod Adobe Youth Voices music and multimedia academy; it'll be housed somewhere in lower Manhattan; and it'll be open, for kids between 13 and 19 years old, in July.” Almost immediately, bloggers weighed in with a mix of previews.... A Gothamist blogger writes: “The Black Eyed Peas, best known for … ruining the Super Bowl, are getting ready to teach city kids about music!” A She Knows blogger says: “The Black Eyed Peas have conquered the music world -- and now they’re helping cultivate the next generation of musicians with their new music school in lower Manhattan.” And PrefixMag says: “The Black Eyed Peas are opening a school” is one of the most frightening things I’ve ever read in my whole life... The project has been in the works a while now. The Peas created the Peapod Foundation back in 2008. It’s now teaming up with Adobe to provide the best equipment and teachers to foster the growth of superstars. NY1’s LINDSEY CHRIST: “The six-time grammy winners said the students inspired them.” TABOO: “The fact that they are able to express themselves like that at such a young age and have the confidence to do that.” And Zimbio says, even if this doesn’t make you go Boom Boom Pow, you can at least Meet ‘em Halfway. (the writer comments:) “Even if you aren't into their music, you have to admit that's a pretty admirable goal.” So what do you think of the Black Eyed Peas school? Let’s get it started? Or I Gotta Feeling -- this won’t be good? 'Like' Newsy on Facebook for updates in your news feed Get more multisource video news analysis from Newsy Transcript by Newsy

BY BRICE SANDER ANCHOR: JIM FLINK You're watching multisource entertainment news analysis from Newsy. Is Britain ready for its GTL makeover? MTV UK will launch a British version of mega-hit Jersey Shore, called Geordie Shore, next month. Here’s a preview. JAY: “My biggest fear is getting wrinkles.” VICKY: “I am a Geordie girl, with a VIP edge.” GARY: “I should have a degree in pulling women.” CHARLOTTE-LETITIA: “I would never kiss anyone without a six pack.” JAMES: “The hardest gruff that I’ve ever done is to do me hair.” SOPHIE: “I could talk the back legs off a donkey.” GREG: “Dressed to impress, that’s me.” HOLLY: “I’m fit, I’m flirty and I’ve got double-F’s.” Yeah. That’s the cast- eight 20-somethings who will fist-pump and smush all summer long in an area of Northeastern England known as Geordie. So what’s been the reaction? Bloggers seem to think we’ve got a situation on our hands... From Gothamist- “There is just something horrifying about a Snooki lookalike with a British accent. God save the Queen.” To Newsday- “This, my friends, is what ‘Jersey Shore’ is about to do - create spin-offs in various unsuspecting countries where they have their own terms for ‘GTL’ and ‘DTF.’ Heaven help us all.” Not many fans in the media. But Entertainment Weekly welcomes the British invasion, at least for a laugh. “A few of the characters look like they’re trying to fist pump and failing. They even have a version of Snooki, only thinner and with a smaller poof. And is it just me, or is this the first time the Brits cast slightly hotter people than us in anything?” And a blogger for the LA Times argues, if anyone can class up Jersey Shore’s act, it’s the Brits. “…dancing with your top off is so much classier when you do it with a British accent. Which makes us think: Wouldn't Kate Middleton look awesome with a good spray-tan?” But the British aren’t as convinced- a writer for the Guardian says the reality trend’s gone too far. “Reality TV is clearly very much still alive - only this time it comes wearing rather more mascara or sporting more buffed muscles … There seems to be no limit to the number of British remakes of hit US shows … It all sounds rather reminiscent of The Simple Life, although at least Nicole and Paris seemed to be in on the joke.” MTV currently has no plans to bring Geordie Shore stateside. But, in a world where Snooki can become a millionaire, any thing's possible, right? 'Like Newsy' on Facebook for entertainment video news analysis from Newsy. BY CHRISTINE SLUSSER ANCHOR JENNIFER MECKLES You're watching multisource entertainment video news analysis from Newsy. Mike Tyson is known for a few things-- an infamous boxing match involving ears, a heavyweight title and his tattoos. Now, the man behind one of those tattoos is suing Warner Brothers for copyright infringement. The problem is... the Hangover sequel just happened to use a very similar design to Iron Mike’s tattoo around his eye. (Video Source: Funny or Die/Warner Bros.) ...but the lawsuit isn’t a laughing matter. Detroit’s WDIV reports it could actually hold up the release of Hangover 2, set to hit theaters in May. “Why you say? Because it's so similar to the facial art on Ed Helms' character, according to published reports, the man behind the actual tattoo design is suing Warner Brothers over the similarity. Take a look. The artist is asking for a court order to stop the film's release. In his complaint filed in federal court, he claims Tyson agreed that the artist would own the artwork as well as the copyright. ” ...and the artist doesn’t stop there. St. Louis’ KTVI reports, he also wants it out of ads. “A Missouri tattoo artist filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Warner Brothers (flash) S. Victor Whitmill of Waynesville designed and inked the tattoo on Tyson. Whitmill is seeking financial damages and asking the judge to block use of the tattoo in ads and in the movie that debuts May 26. Warner Brothers has not commented.” The Hollywood Reporter says it’s an interesting case--but Warner Brothers just might get out of this one. “Copyrighted works are copyrighted works, no matter whether they are painted on canvases or walls or the bodies of former heavyweight champions... But Warners could argue … that the studio changed the design just enough to escape infringement, or that the use in the film is ‘transformative’.” The case wouldn’t be the first time Warner Bros has been slapped with a copyright suit prior to a film’s release. (Video Source: Funny or Die/Warner Bros.) And the news has generated enough buzz that NBC Sports went way Off the Bench and wrote about it. “In 2005, a producer forced an injunction to stop the release of The Dukes of Hazzard movie, claiming copyright infringement involving an earlier movie. The case was settled for an undisclosed amount of money and the movie released on time, however (lucky us).” 'Like Newsy' on Facebook for video news updates in your feed. BY BRICE SANDER ANCHOR MEGAN MURPHY You're watching multisource entertainment video news analysis from Newsy. It’s the emancipation of Mimi…well, Mimi’s babies. Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon gave birth to twins – a boy and a girl. But the birth isn’t what’s grabbing headlines- it’s the babies’ names. Talk show host Wendy Wiliams helps explain. “The little boy’s name is Moroccan Scott (LAUGHTER). Look, apparently at Mariah’s apartment, she’s got a room with Moroccan-themed décor, and that is allegedly the room where Nick asked her to marry him. His nickname will be Roc (LAUGHTER).” As for the girl? Well she’ll be called Monroe – or “Roe” for short – after Mariah’s idol, Marilyn Monroe. A blogger for the Philadelphia Inquirer tries to find the upside for the Cannon kids. “He … becomes the first child ever to be named after riad architecture … [and] Monroe Cannon … would be a great name for a fireballing lefty from Louisiana.” It’s not like these out-of-the-box names were unexpected. As ITN asks, why can’t celebs just pick normal names? “We are loving the Kardashian-style ‘M’-theme, but the jury’s still out on the actual names ... But, Mariah, what’s wrong with Martin, Margaret, Malcolm or Matilda? Don’t answer that, we already know. They’re just not showbiz enough.” But as a Broward Palm Beach New Times writer points out, things could’ve been worse. A lot worse. “I'd be pretty pissed if my parents named me after a room in their house or a pill-popping sex icon …[but] the award for the parent with the most ridiculous kids' names definitely goes to Frank Zappa with Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan, and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen.” And as Kathie Lee and Hoda show us, the wacky name trend’s just a celebrity thing- at least according to the Social Security Offices annual baby name survey. HODA KOTB: “The most popular boys and girls names. OK so, let’s go- let’s start with the most popular baby names for girls. Number five is Ava.” KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “I love that name.” HODA KOTB: “Four is Olivia.” KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “Beautiful.” HODA KOTB: “Three is Emma.” KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “Lovely.” KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “Two is Sophia. And the number one name of all time for right now is Isabella.” KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “For the boys, number five is William. For number four, it’s Jayden. Although, Jayden’s also on one of the least liked, so it doesn’t make any sense. Number three is Michael, that’s been on forever since the archangel Michel, himself, I think. Ethan, which I like. And Jacob is- again? For like the twelfth year in a row or something like that, right?!” Follow Newsy on Twitter Newsy_Videos for updates in your stream. BY ALISON SCHUTZ ANCHOR AUSTIN KIM You're watching multisource entertainment video news analysis from Newsy. If you love chocolate-covered strawberries on Mother’s Day, enjoy a chocolate bunny around Easter, and appreciate the decadent creations on Cake Boss - listen up. How about a stay in a hotel room decorated completely with chocolate? The sweet suite was designed by Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, and put together by master chocolatier Patrick Roger. Yahoo looks into why the duo decorated the Paris hotel room. “The room took ten tons of chocolate to build and was created to advertise a new chocolate ice cream bar. Evidently, buying an ad in the local paper was just too weird.” Lagerfeld also directed a sensual series of commercials to promote Magnum chocolate, complete with scantily-clad models. While Lagerfeld is known for controversial art, a Portfolio**** writer says there’s a bonus in the chocolate suite that really makes this piece stand out. “As far as publicity stunts go, it’s relatively tame. So what could move it into … Lagerfeld territory? How about completing the chocolate suite with a life-size likeness of ... model Baptiste Giabiconi ... reclining on a bed in a pair of underwear and slippers, holding an ice cream bar. Because it just makes more sense that way.” But, Lagerfeld won’t be taking a bite outta the coco hunk anytime soon. He tells W Magazine that he doesn’t even eat chocolate... “...I like chocolate. I don’t eat it, but I like the smell of it. People can drink with their eyes; I can eat with my nose. I would love to have a perfume based on chocolate.” The room also includes a chocolate chair, nightstand, lamp, and bed. But we want to know -- is there still a chocolate mint on the pillow? BY SAMUEL JOSEPH ANCHOR JIM FLINK You're watching multisource entertainment video news analysis from Newsy. Nobody likes spoilers. Like someone telling you how the magic trick works. Or how the movie ends. That's exactly how the chief writer for Doctor Who Steven Moffat feels about fans leaking the plot of shows latest season. STEVEN MOFFAT: "Stories are the moment you didn't see coming. Those are what live in you and burn in you forever. If you are denied those, it's vandalism. So to have some twit, who came to a press launch, write up a story in the worst, most ham-fisted English you can imagine and put it on the Internet. I just hope that guy never watches my show again. Because that's a horrific thing to do." As an outreach to help promote the latest season of the hit sci-fi show- Moffat held a private viewing to show the first two episodes of season six. According to The Daily Mail that's where it all went wrong. "It is thought those who gave away the plot had been invited to a preview screening but had been specifically asked not to blow the plot-line. However they were posted online shortly afterwards." And according to the Escapist fans aren't the least bit angry with Moffat's frustration. In fact - they're in agreement. "...many in the geek community are incredibly averse to spoilers. As trite as it might sound, part of the joy in watching shows like Doctor Who isn't in knowing the truth, it's in discovering the truth." Finally a writer for Den of Geek explains that - while unfortunate - the release might have been inevitable. "Because soaps now have to work so hard to keep people interested that it's second nature to spill major plot developments months ahead, to ensure people remain hooked. Cross that with the Internet... and it's borderline impossible to keep things under wraps." So do you look for spoilers to be in the know, or do they just spoil the fun?
