Knife skills are an important technique to learn if you want to be safe in the kitchen. Chef Jason Hill shows you how to cut an onion with a chef's knife. Today you'll learn how to dice, how to slice and how to mince onions. For dicing, first remove the stem end of the onion. Set up and cut in half down through the root. Peel first layer of skin off. Leaving the root end on keeps the onion together while you are dicing. With your free hand, tucking your fingers, hold down the onion and begin to make cuts in the onion, using your free hand as a guide for your blade. For a finer dice, you can make a cut or two down the center of the onion. Again, tucking your fingers, hold down the onion and begin to dice the onion. Keep your fingers tucked at all times. To slice an onion, I remove the root end and remove the first layer of skin. Set the onion flat. You can turn the onion and begin slicing. This thickness works great for salads or fajitas. While we're at it, you probably want to know how to mince garlic or shallots. I lay the garlic or shallot on its flat side and begin to make tiny 1/8th inch slices through the shallot. Carefully make several cross section cuts into the shallot, moving your fingertips backward as you cut. Finally, make 1/8th inch slices down the shallot. Now you are mincing! This method works great for garlic as well. Remember the speed will come with time. Thanks for watching.

On the way to Akbar in the Silverlake, I saw a man free-handing a creatively detailed drawing. I told him I wanted to see his progress when we left the bar. Coming back out of Akbar I asked him about the drawing, and he said he had completed it. He showed me all of the images he had hidden in the drawing. I scoped out his other work and offered him $20 for a drawing and he asked for more. I offered him $30, and he told me to go higher. I told him this was the only cash I had, and he said he would give it to me if he could open up all of our hearts with a song or poem. I chose song, and he told me to say my name, one word that describes what I like about the drawing, and "begin." I chose the word rustic, and we were wooed with a 10 minute song. Sorry for the street noise. Hope Mr. Henry Wallace Hampton gets some more recognition!

Please read!! First, a couple people have asked for a tutorial on this, and because it's all made in Adobe software, and this channel is strictly Final Cut, I probably won't make one. I did find a good tutorial on how to make a similar look for it though. I did mine all free hand, without any guidance, but I think this could help those interested. *******library.creativecow****/articles/park_michael/007_Intro.php I know I haven't had a tutorial out FOREVER, but honestly I have been crazy working, so here is a little video to show some of my work, and a new tutorial should be out within the next week! This was made using After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator CS4, along with Final Cut Pro (I have graduated from Express, but will still be doing Express tutorials)

The ghora encompasses all those experiences that most people find intolerable, for almost everyone is as ready to enjoy life's pleasures as they are to avoid misery. Most spiritual advisers admonish their devotees to shy away from the ghora, but aghoris (practitioners of Aghora) embrace the ghora fervidly, for what most terrifies an aghori is the prospect of becoming mired in duality. Aghoris go so far into the ghora that the ghora becomes tolerable to them; diving deeply into darkness, an aghori finally surfaces into light. No means to awakening is too disgusting or frightening for an aghori, for Aghora is the Path of the Shadow of Death, the path that forcibly separates an individual from attachment to every ordinary self-descriptor. Aghora's temple is the smashan (cremation ground), where aghoris worship death, the Great Transformer, with a savage, all-consuming love. Those who are enslaved by their cravings think aghoris mad for displaying such ferocity in their quest for knowing. They condemn Aghora's outwardly repugnant practices because they cannot see beneath their ritual skin. If they could but peep into an aghori's heart they would find there an ache for Reality so fierce that no means could be too extreme to achieve it. This ache drives the divine fury, the passionately unrestrained non-attachment to absolutely everything, that is Aghora's hallmark. Aghoris earn their illumination by incinerating themselves moment by moment in their own internal fires, laughingly consuming any substance and performing any activity that might further enkindle their awareness. They seize every moment of life that God offers to them, even a trip to the toilet, as a fresh opportunity to surrender to the One. Good aghoris takes their temples with them as they wander the world, ceaselessly amazed to witness the universe consuming itself in the fires of an ongoing cosmic cremation. Aghora like alchemy substitutes for a set recipe of self-development an outline whose details differ for each practitioner. Each aghori and his customs are unique, and in truth all one aghori has in common with another is their degree of intensity and determination. Aghoris become so desperate in their quests that they channel their every thought and feeling into a super-obsession, a single-minded quest to achieve the Beloved. They endeavor eternally to dismember their restricted selves fully, that God may have a free hand to re-member them completely. They die day by day while they are still alive, that by dying to their limitations they can be reborn into the eternal life of Reality. Aghoris achieve laser-like focus by learning to awaken and cultivate that evolutionary power that the Tantras call Kundalini. Vimalananda comments, "Ahamkara, your 'I-creating' faculty, continuously remembers you by self-identifying with all the cells in your body and all the facets of your personality. Ahamkara is your personal shakti (power); she integrates the many parts of you into the individual that you are. You develop spiritually when you can cause ahamkara to realize, little by little, that she is actually She: the Kundalini Shakti. This growing realization gradually awakens Kundalini, and as She awakens She forgets to self-identify with your limited human personality. Then She is ready to recollect something new."« (Robert Svoboda)

This is Lars Ulrich's Drum track for the song Nothing Else Matters off of the album Metallica (The Black Album) "Nothing Else Matters" is a song by heavy metal band Metallica. It was first released in 1991 on the self-titled Black Album which includes the hit single Enter Sandman. The song reached #11 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks Charts in 1992. Singer and rhythm guitarist James Hetfield initially wrote it to a former girlfriend, but now he cannot remember why;[citation needed] some say it meant that "no matter how far" he was (since Metallica spent most of their time on tours), he was still "so close" with the heart. He considered it a very personal song and was not going to publish it, until drummer Lars Ulrich heard it and wanted it on Metallica. Now Metallica considers it a song dedicated to all their fans and it has become a staple of their live performances. Its intro is an E minor arpeggio beginning with the open E, G, B and high E strings. It was first rumoured, and then confirmed by Hetfield on Classic Albums: The Black Album DVD, that he started composing it while he was on the phone with his girlfriend and only had one free hand. It is one of the few Metallica songs in which Hetfield, rather than Hammett, plays the guitar solo being that Hetfield recorded all rhythm and most harmony tracks on the band's first five albums. It is also the only Metallica song that does not feature Hammett's playing (excluding Cliff Burton's bass solo (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth). In response to a question asked by a fan in So What!, the magazine of Metallica's official fan club, Hetfield confirmed that he recorded every guitar track on the song. The video was premiered on MTV on February 26, 1992. It was directed by Adam Dubin; it consists of parts of the "A year and a half..." video tape which was shot during the recordings of the Black Album. MTV will however not air the video during day hours any more because it features nudity in the form of pin up posters that are taped up in the studio. It also has a picture of frontman Kip Winger, in which Lars Ulrich is seen throwing darts at him. The video was removed from Youtube**** in December 2008 due to 'copyright claims by a third party'. The Single would hit the top 10 in the UK - reaching number 6. For its appearance on S&M, its orchestration was arranged by Michael Kamen conducting the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. This live version is found on the S&M album. This version was also released as the single "Nothing Else Matters '99", which included the B-sides "−Human", and the S&M version of "For Whom The Bell Tolls", on January 4, 2000. There is also an acoustic remix of "Nothing Else Matters" that is called the "elevator version" with no electric guitars (replaced by acoustic guitars, even for the solo), Kamen's orchestrations, and Hetfield's voice only; it appears as the B-Side to Sad But True.

Lunch finished and I thankfully got myself up from Joe's lap. From there it was just like the old days. I paid more attention in class, not like last time where I'd spent most of my time crying. And it was definately nice having Joe holding my hand sitting next to me. I noticed that graduation came near. I didn't think much of it though. Joe tutored me for my entrance exams and I felt confident. And of course I passed. I have a exremely smart and sexy tutor. Hmm I wonder how I managed to concetrate while lessons. We're in the second to last month of school and I can't help but notice changes in Joe. It's seriously bothering me. And I'm getting more and more confused each day. Last night was probably the one that bothered me the most... *~*~* He chuckled. It had a really big effect on me. For the last couple of days, I felt his aura growing, I could feel menace yet seduction and over powering attraction from him. More girls started to come to him. And it bothered me. He payed no mind to it. Yet if only those girls knew he was Joe. "Dem, just wear what ever you'd like. Its nothing special." I was picking an outfit. His family was having a party. Which was nearing in just a couple of days. I was worried sick. "You're not a girl, you wouldn't understand." "Well I think you look amazing in anything. Including nothing." He spoke yet again seductively through the phone and I could even feel his aura surround me. I shivered. "Slow down naughty biy. Geez, a girl can only handle so much you know." He laughed. "Yes, you can handle alot." I blushed. "Seriously must you bring that up?" "I'm just messing with you." "Meanie." I picked out the perfect outfit. I picked something simple but perfect. A white dress that was flowy at the end and came to my knees. The top part and Strapless but ran right across my chest. Showing nothing. I could wear black flats and a black belt and it'd be perfect. I squealed. Finally done and proud. "You found it?" He laughed. "Yessirie." I beamed. "Alright. Well goodnight Dem. I love you." "I love you too." On the night of the party, affter we talked in our small get together. Around mid-night, at which the party was still on. There was this sudden charge in the air and the tension became unbearable. Everyone became quiet. Joe was seated next to me with his eyes closed and his hands at his knees in fist. The tension radiated from him and I know we all felt intance preasure smothering us. Joe opened his eyes and they were the demonized once before. And I gasped lightly in shock. Everyone stared at him wide eyed. Joe was tense. He grabbed my hand suddenly and held it tightly. Enough force to make the grip hurt. I grabbed onto his hand and yanked at it alittle. Joe stood up and pulled me along with him. I nearly tripped but he steadied me consiously. "Joe!" I heard Kevin getting up. I looked back to see Adam make him sit. "Sit down." "What do you mean sit down, what the hell is wrong with him!? He might hurt her!" Selena protested. I closed my eyes as Joe pulled me outside. My heart raced. He slammed the door shut and pushed me against the wall. My eyes were wide in fear as he opened his mouth exposing his fangs menacingly. He grabbed hold of my hair and my shoulder in his free hand and pulled my head up. I felt a sharp pain. I was shocked. I tried to think past the pain. I could hear him drinking. He tensed up and then suddenly he backed away. My blood streamed from the wounds and onto my dress. Staining it in blood. My eyes were wide and my throat hurt. I could see his shocked expression. He was back to normal. *~*~* I wince at the memory. But there was more to that night... ___ Sorry I havent posted, ive been getting ready for high school o.o well, here comes some horror :D LOL and with my mind, you know it will be bloody and gory hehehe ;3
