Maserati GranTurismo-2008 Geneva Auto-Italy Sport Car brought to by Italian Broadcasting Company www.WebVisionItaly****. [07-Mar-2008] The GranTurismo S was recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle features a compact and lightweight 4.7 liter V8 engine which has a maximum power output of 440 HP at 7,000 rpm and peak torque of 490 Nm at 4,750 rpm. The electro-actuated 6-speed gearbox has an MC-Shift software which harnesses the new engine’s power output. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h in 4.9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 295 Km/h, the fastest ever reached by a production Maserati.

The R8 is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo platform, as Audi has full ownership of subsidiary Lamborghini s.p.a. Audi announced in 2005 that the name of the successful Audi R8 race car would be used for a new road car in 2007, the Audi R8, based on the Audi Le Mans Quattro concept car, which was based on the earlier Audi RSQ concept vehicle, appearing at the 2003 Geneva Auto Show and 2003 International Motor Show.
