As a member of the Cameroon national team, he was a part of the squad that won the 2000 Olympic tournament; he has participated in two World Cups and five African Nations Cups (being champion twice), and is the all-time leading scorer in the history of the African Nations Cup, with 16 goals.
Blackpool vs Sheffield Wednesday Live Stream and REPLAY
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has hinted that he will shuffle his pack for the home clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
The Seasiders drew 2-2 at Bloomfield with QPR on Saturday but Holloway is set to field a more physical side.
Striker Ben Burgess was named among the substitutes against Rangers but came off the bench in the second half and looks set to start against the Owls.
Holloway said: "My team on Saturday was picked on the fact that QPR have a lot of flair.
"I think the game against Sheffield Wednesday will be very different, more of a battle, so I'll have to look at what I do regards selection."
Strikers Stephen McPhee and Billy Clarke remain on the sidelines due to injury and attacking midfielder Hameur Bouazza is away on international duty with Algeria.
Sheffield Wednesday striker Leon Clarke will return to Alan Irvine's squad.
Clarke, who missed the derby win at Barnsley on Saturday in Irvine's first game in charge due to a hamstring strain, is back in contention, but fellow forward Francis Jeffers is still struggling with a similar problem and will miss out.
Irvine helped deliver the Owls' first win in 12 league matches at Oakwell and will not want to change his side.
Midfielder Michael Gray returned after illness, while Jermaine Johnson played a more central role up front alongside Marcus Tudgay and rewarded Irvine with the winning goal.
Defender Richard Hinds (heel), midfielder Tommy Miller (hamstring) and goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell (ankle) remain sidelined.

Reading are hopeful of having top-scorer Gylfi Sigurdsson available for the FA Cup visit of Premier League side Burnley on Saturday.
The Icelandic midfielder - who scored a last-minute penalty at Anfield in the third-round replay win at Liverpool - missed the 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest last weekend with a foot injury.
The 20-year-old has scored eight times this season and is hopeful of being fit as the Royals look to avenge last season's play-off defeat to the Clarets.
Defender Matt Mills picked up his fifth booking of the season against Forest but will be available after the cut-off date for suspensions expired.
New signings Andy Griffin and Gunnar Thorvaldsson both made their debuts at the City Ground and will remain in contention.
Noel Hunt and Chris Armstrong (both knee) and Julian Kelly (shoulder) remain sidelined for Brian McDermott's side.
Brian Laws has been boosted by the return to fitness of Jay Rodriguez, Chris McCann and Martin Paterson ahead of Burnley's trip south.
The trio have been sidelined with injuries since September but made their comebacks in a reserve game on Tuesday and should all be available for selection.
Steven Fletcher had to come off with a knock to his ankle in last week's defeat at Manchester United but should feature and Clarke Carlisle has returned to training after overcoming a side strain.
Club captain Steven Caldwell will miss out again though after suffering a setback in his recovery from a groin problem, while David Nugent is ineligible for FA Cup matches under the terms of his current loan deal from Portsmouth and Andre Bikey is still with Cameroon at the African Nations Cup.
Laws is confident his team can succeed where Liverpool failed and safely navigate their way past FA Cup giant-killers Reading tomorrow.
Blackpool are without a win in four matches and the club has not recorded a home victory against Watford since New Year's Day 1972, when they thrashed the Hornets 5-0.
The Tangerines' home form had been the platform for an impressive season under Ian Holloway, but recent results have been a concern. Holloway's side have not won at home since beating Scunthorpe in November.
Watford have also had problems recently. Malky Mackay's team have not won in six league and cup games, and their away results have been particularly disappointing.
The last victory on their travels came at Middlesbrough in October, since which they have collected only two points from a possible 21 on the road.
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway could make changes, with Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Barry Bannan and Keith Southern all pushing for recalls.
Strikers Stephen McPhee and Billy Clarke remain on the sidelines, while Hameur Bouazza is away on international duty with Algeria.
Watford are expected to include Stephen McGinn on the bench after signing the midfielder from St Mirren.
Scott Severin is an injury doubt with a minor groin problem.
With our game at Portsmouth being called off and the squad having enjoyed a nice trip to Malta I would expect the side to be the same as the Man Utd game. New signing Michel will probably start on the bench.
Everton do not have any new injury worries so will probably play a similar side that played in their great result against Man City last Saturday.
Our last meeting was just before Christmas when Blues somehow managed to come away with a 1-1 draw despite being played off the park for most of the game. Seb Larsson equalised Bilyaletdinov’s early goal.
Our last meeting in the FA Cup was in 2000 and ended 2-0 to Everton.
Both Blues and Everton are in good form at the moment. We are of course on a record unbeaten run stretching back to October 17th and if you ignore a Europa cup match where they fielded a weakened team Everton are unbeaten since November 29th.
Something has to give.
When the draw was made I was not happy. This was one of the worst draws we could have got which is a big disappointment as I thought we had a good chance of a decent cup run this year. With the club safe from relegation (I think I can safely say that now) there was no reason not to have a real go in the cup, especially with Man United and Liverpool already out. I fear though this year’s chance may well end tomorrow.
Everton have recently hit good form and have got some players back from injury and like us will be looking to do well in the cup this year. They are of course last year’s beaten finalists and have a good pedigree having last won it in 1995. On the positive side Blues have had a chance to recharge their batteries with the Portsmouth postponement and the trip to Malta. I’ve thought that some of the recent performances have been looking a little tired.
The FA Cup is perhaps not the great competition it once was but I’d personally trade a few places in the league for a Wembley appearances.

Juventus lost again at the weekend, this time away to Chievo, and it appears their season has just disintegrated before their very eyes. As a consequence of Saturday’s defeat they have now dropped to fifth place in Italy’s Serie A and find themselves thirteen points behind current league leaders Inter Milan. On Saturday Juve entertain old rivals Roma in Turn and you can watch this live stream soccer offering by joining us right here at http://budurl.com/WatchLiveSoccer
On Sunday Juve travelled to Chievo for what was for them a vital Serie A match. After a disappointing performance they slumped to their second successive defeat by a 1-0 score line. Since they managed to beat Inter Milan, Juventus have only won once in their subsequent five league games and instead of using that Inter game as a platform for better things they appear to have gone backwards instead.
For their part, Roma travel up to Turin on the back of a 2-0 home win against Genoa, a result that has moved the team from the capital up to the heady heights of third position. Join us here at http://budurl.com/WatchLiveSoccer

Chievo coach Domenico Di Carlo has warned his side not to become over-confident ahead of their trip to Rome to face strugglers Lazio tomorrow.
The Flying Donkeys produced a fantastic performance to beat Juventus 1-0 last weekend.
Having lost their previous three games, the men from Verona clinched three vital points courtesy of a goal from Pablo Granoche, lifting them 10 points clear of the drop zone after 20 games played.
"We produced our best against a strong side,'' Di Carlo said.
"Before the Juventus game we had hoped to do well but we didn't expect to surprise the Turin outfit.
"However, now it is important that we don't make the mistake of lifting our heads too high.
"We have to keep our feet firmly on the ground.
"The victory against Juve is important for the standings and I'm sure it will give my players a big boost in confidence.
"But we must remember that we lost our previous three games and hence, we cannot get carried away.
