"Radioactive" is a song by American rock band Imagine Dragons for their major-label debut EP Continued Silence and later on their debut studio album, Night Visions (2012), as the opening track. "Radioactive" was first sent to modern rock radio on October 29, 2012, and released to contemporary radio on April 9, 2013. Musically, "Radioactive" is an electronic rock and alternative rock song with elements of dubstep and contains cryptic lyrics about apocalyptic and revolutionist themes. The song received positive reviews from critics, who praised the production, lyrics, and vocals, calling it a highlight on the album. Due to heavy rotation on various commercials and trailers, the song became a sleeper hit, peaking at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and becoming the band's first top 10 single as well as being the third best selling song in that country. It also broke the record for slowest ascension to the top 5 in chart history and currently holds the record for most weeks spent on the Billboard Hot 100 at 87 weeks. The song has also reached number one in Sweden and in the top 20 in several countries including Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, becoming Imagine Dragons' most successful single to date. It has since been certified Diamond in the USA, making it one of the best selling singles of all time. The song was also Spotify's most streamed song before being overtaken by Avicii's Wake Me Up late 2014 and is considered the track that made streaming a viable method of music consumption. "Radioactive" received two Grammy Awards nominations for Record of the Year and Best Rock Performance, winning the latter. This was Imagine Dragons' first time being nominated. During the broadcast, they presented a remix of the song with their Interscope label-mate, rapper Kendrick Lamar. The remix was later released for purchase on iTunes.

Hi everyone I'm Andrea Rene and you're watching the get the daily****. Last the 50th Annual Grammy Awards aired with much anticipation as it was suspected it might be the only big, ritzy awards show of the season due to the writer's strike. And glitzy it was! There were some standout performances by Alicia Keys and the Foo Fighters, but none quite as memorable as when pop superstar Beyonce took the stage with legendary crooner Tina Turner. Tina might be in the Senior's Club but she's still got the moves! They jammed out to the classic tune "Proud Mary" and I've got to tell you, if you missed it catch it on You Tube. Also worth watching is Kanye West's collaboration with Daft Punk for his hit stronger plus a tribute to his mother through his song "Hey Mama." While Kanye's performance was good, his acceptance speech for one of his four grammy wins, best rap album, was choice, his cockiness overshadowing the honor of the award, that's worth a Youtube look as well. And even though he scored 4 trophies he once again failed to clinch Record of the Year which went to, surprise, Herbie Hancock for his album "River: the Joni letters." Other noteable wins go to Amy Winehouse! She gave a great performance, which was a much needed comeback for the singer who couldn't attend the ceremony because she needed to go back to Rehab, ironically, and even better, she was the top earner of the night with 5 trophies, including record of the year for famous song "Rehab." Other winners include Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Foo Fighters, and Vince Gill, who hilariously poked fun at Kanye during his acceptance speech. If you want a full listing of all the winners in the over 100 categories, head over to grammys****. For get the daily****, I'm Andrea Rene and thanks for making us your online source for news.
