Latest video showing off the indie PC strategy game 'Gratuitous Space Battles' by Positech Games. The game is based on the concept of Design Deploy Destroy. You design spaceships from modular components, place them into fleets which you deploy with battle orders and formations, and then you watch your fleet kick stellar ass or get blown to bits. You can play against AI fleets, or against fleets designed and deployed by fellow GSB players and uploaded to a central server.
Guys, let's just do it. Let's just blow shit up in space. Positech games will help us with their new release, Gratuitous Space Battles. Also: let's check out your favorite multiplayer games of all time. Oh, and one more thing: let's promise to always be best friends, like we are now.

Initially, I had wondered if having an entire deployment field filled with the Imperial Weapons Platforms would be hilarious. It was funny, but not quite ROFL-esque, and definitely not very effective. Then through divine providence (accident) I found out I could stack them. This caused the fleet effectiveness to shoot through the roof, and thus the impending hilarity.
This is my fleet of 3600 operational strength versus a fleet of normal-diffculty AI with 24000 operational strength.
Also, this game is fantastic - you should get it!
EDIT: 04/26/10 MY FIRST VID TO REACH 1,000 VIEWS! YAAAAAY!! Yes... this is actually how the final battle went. The explosions. The mayhem. Everything. Includes KFS Vengeance and UFS Antaris!
