Check out these two bungling prisoners who tried escaping from the police while handcuffed together. All was actually going okay and they were escaping UNTIL that darn pole jumped out in between them. What happened next? Well, of course, hilarity ensued.
Lindsay Lohans repeated parole violations finally caught up with her Tuesday when the troubled young actress was handcuffed and sent to jail to serve a 90-day sentence.
DENVER -- Two teenage girls who had been given city permission to write their messages protesting Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama's support for abortion on public sidewalks during the Democratic National Convention this week were shoved to the sidewalk, cuffed and arrested for doing just that.
The two are part of the Survivors organization, a Christian, pro-life activism group dedicated to educating and activating high school and college age individuals.
It is called Survivors because those born after 1972 are survivors of the abortion holocaust, the group said. "One-third of your generation has been killed by abortion in America."
Spokeswoman Danielle Versluys told WND the group had consulted with Denver city officials as well as police prior to the DNC, and had been told that chalk messages on sidewalks would be allowed. Even though the city's deputy chief was in the meeting, that message apparently didn't get forwarded to officers on the street.
Just about the time Obama, an ardent abortion supporter whose advocacy for the procedure has gone even further than that of the National Abortion Rights Action League, was making a surprise visit to the DNC meeting at which vice presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden was speaking to the crowds, the girls were participating in "A Prayer for Change" protest outside the hotel where Obama was staying.
"I was peacefully sidewalk chalking when I was forcefully pushed to ground by a police officer from behind," Jayne White, 17, described. "As I was being cuffed on the ground, the police officer pushed his knee into the back of my neck. I was pulled roughly off the ground and taken away. I was given no warning to stop and was completely shocked when I was arrested.'
Julia Giacopuzzi, age 15, was surprised by a police officer twisting her arms behind her back and using them to lift her off the ground to be handcuffed.
"I was rushed by a police officer without warning and lifted up off the ground and was cuffed. I was then dragged by the police into the Westin Hotel," she said.
Throughout the DNC, the youthful members of the organization have been using sidewalk chalk to raise attention to the issue of life with the permission of City Attorney David Fine and Denver Deputy Chief of Police John Lamb.
"It was understood by the young women that sidewalk chalk was an accepted medium, and they were given no warning by the police before being cuffed and dragged away," the group said.
Versluys told WND the two later were released, and it was unclear whether they will face a prosecution in Denver yet.
"It blows my mind," she said. "I think the officers were keyed up. We're not sure whether they acted of their own accord or had orders."
Also arrested in the incident was Rev. Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition in Washington. Officials said he was threatened with a felony for "leading" the event.
"I am horrified and outraged at the treatment of these two girls. Not only were they legally expressing their opinions on the public sidewalk, but they were doing so peacefully and without incident. The officers acted without provocation, and should be ashamed of themselves for terrorizing two young women," Versluys said.
"I am also appalled that the city of Denver boasted of the city's preparation for the convention but clearly neglected to train their police force to respect the First Amendment and the rights of citizens to peacefully demonstrate," she said.
"The city of Denver sent a clear message to civic-minded young people this week: the First Amendment doesn't apply here," she said.
"I am shocked at how cowardly these police officers behaved by attacking little girls without warning or provocation," said Troy Newman, chief of the Operation Rescue campaign in Wichita, Kan.. "There was absolutely no reason for [any violence.]"
He said his organization the chalk protesters "conducted themselves peacefully and appropriately at all times."

Juliet and Kate are handcuffed together. O YEAH!
After a 7-9 record in 2006 expectations were high for the San Francisco 49'ers in 2007. Instead the team suffered their 5th consecutive losing season and an offense that produced the 32nd ranked scoring and passing offense in the league. This led to a 5-11 season and nearly cost 49'ers head coach Mike Nolan his job. Oddsmakers have set the 49'ers season win total at 6 games.
When you handicap season win totals you must, I mean must look at the schedule.
A game you can circle for the 49'ers is their September 21st home date against Detroit. Mike Martz would like nothing better than to stick it up Lion coach Rod Marinelli for being the fall guy for Detroit in 2007 with his firing after last season. San Francisco must play the AFC East and get New England and the NY Jets at home and must travel to Miami and a tough trip to Buffalo in late November. The 49'ers are scheduled against the tough NFC East and that means road trips to Dallas and the NY Giants and home dates with Washington and Philadelphia. Also mixed in is a road game at the New Orleans Saints who will be an improved team. The 2008 schedule is a difficult one for the 49'ers.
Quarterback Alex Smith begins his 4th NFL season with his 4th different offensive coordinator and system. Former St Louis Rams head coach and 2007 Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz will run the Rams offense. Quarterbacks have improved under Martz such as Kurt Warner, Marc Bulger and even Jon Kitna last season. Martz is saying the right things about running back Frank Gore being the centerpiece of the offense. But last season Martz abandoned the run much to the disgust of his head coach Rod Marinelli which contributed to a 7-9 season and Martz' firing. Head coach Mike Nolan is a defensive minded coach and coupled with Martz offensive pass heavy system it just might create a volatile situation in the Bay area. Defensive minded coaches like their offenses to run the ball and control the clock but Martz is all about the big play. Nolan is facing a dilemma if his offensive coordinator chooses to abandon the run. Nolan could be handcuffed here because he is fighting for his job. Now Isaac Bruce comes over from the Rams to play wide receiver but he is 35 years old. Arnez Battle and Bryant Johnson really don't put much fear into opposing defenses. Jason Hill has good speed behind Bruce but was mired with injuries last season. This unit lacks a playmaker.
Last season the 49'ers defense were on the field more than any other defensive unit in 2007. This season it could be more of the same with a Mike Martz quick scoring offense this season. When you have a Mike Martz offensive system your defense is going to be on the field quickly and you are going to need to be able to rotate players in out and out. Some of your starters are going to miss series to rest. Simply you need depth on defense. Fortunately the strength of this 49'ers team is their defense. Linebackers Patrick Willis was outstanding earning Defensive Rookie of the year last season. His battery mate Manny Lawson is coming off a torn ACL and we will see if he can still effectively chase down defenders against the run. The Niners lost 2 starters from last years defensive line and filled them with rookie first round pick Kentwan Balmer out of North Carolina and free agent Justin Smith from the Bengals. How well they develop backups will be the difference between a good or bad year for the defense. Based on the direction of this franchise over the past several seasons expect the worst.
And now to my Selection:
This is by far the weakest group of offensive talent Mike Martz has ever worked with. Unfortunately for 49'ers head coach Mike Nolan time isn't on his side. He needs to win now to keep his job and just barely survived the 2007 season. The 49'ers did little in the off season to give the offense the weapons to succeed and just a system change will not be enough in 2008. Poor Alex Smith. The guy has got to be totally confused entering his 4th year in the league under a 4th different offense. This is a franchise in chaos as they are breaking in a sixth offensive co-coordinator in 6 years. The schedule is brutal as well this season.
Play San Francisco UNDER 6 wins for the 2008 season.
Selection: UNDER 6 wins in 2008 Regular Season.
Recently, a serious violation of human rights occurred in Taiwan. A Chinese delegate visited Taiwan in the past few days. The pro-China KMT government in Taiwan asked the police to confiscate any representations of the NATIONAL FLAG OF TAIWAN the anti-China street protesters had with them (for fear of the potential to piss off the Chinese official). The police even beat up those who refused to give up the flag. This is the NATIONAL FLAG we are talking about. Moreover, the protesters were not allowed to wear T-shirts that say "I am Taiwanese, not Chinese" and "Chinese communists are not welcome." Those who did were removed, handcuffed, and even beat up by the police. For evidence, please refer to the following video link:
THIS IS A SERIOUS VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND FREEDOM OF SPEECH CONDUCTED BY THE GOVERNMENT.
Please help us. Thank you.
P.S. For all my hip-hop peers, check out the following video dedicated to the pro-China KMT government in Taiwan and THEIR police:
Now handcuffed, can the girls complete their challenges and earn their freedom? They are ready to make a big splash, but will Mr. Austin approve? Things are not as picture perfect as they hoped!
