Beach goers found a 30-foot Giant Squid washed ashore on the Spanish Beach of Cantabria, Spain. This 400 pound giant squid footage is a rare find as these deep sea monsters live so far within the ocean depths that scientist rarely have the opportunity to study this particular sea species. The giant 30 foot squid was discovered in on Tuesday October 1st. The scientific squid name, Archteusthis Dux, washed up on the La arena beach of the Spanish community of Cantabria. This sea creature measured at 9 meters and 180 kilos Squids the largest known invertebrate on Earth, this species known simply as the "Giant Squid" has maximum size estimate of 43 feet, where as the biggest squid is called the Colossal Squid grown up to 46 feet in length. This sea monster has the largest eyes of anything in the animal kingdom which can grow to the size of a human head. These massive eyeballs allow the squid to see deep down in the ocean depths far away from sun light. Though little is known about where these squid live, scientists say the giants likely reside in cooler waters, as research has shown their blood doesn't really carry oxygen well at high temperatures. The giant squid feeds by catching prey with two front tentacles which have sucker rings on them, bring the victim close enough to shred them with their tongue that has small file like teeth. Shrouded in mystery and legend, the deep-sea giant squid is said possibly to have inspired the myth of the Legendary Kraken This giant squid was cleaned, frozen, and taken to the Martime Museum of Cantabria.
