La ragazza di Bube is a 1963 Italian crime film drama directed by Luigi Comencini and starring Claudia Cardinale and George Chakiris. In terms of plot the film is a relatively faithful adaptation of Carlo Cassola's 1960 novel La ragazza di Bube; but its atmosphere is distinctly different, as the protagonists Mara and Bube, adolescents in the book, are interpreted here as young adults. The film was nominated for a Golden Bear Award at the Berlin International Film Festival and won best production at the David di Donatello Awards . Claudia Cardinale was awarded the Nastro d'Argento Best Actress (Migliore Attrice Protagonista) by the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists for her performance in the role of as Mara. The film was released in the United States in 1964 with the title Bebo's Girl. Claudia Cardinale (born April 15, 1938) is an Italian actress born in Tunis, Tunisia. The most notable films she has appeared in include 8½ (1963) and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968). She has appeared on more good movies in Europe that the majority of its contemporary. Her performance in Visconti's Sandra/Of A Thousand Delights is regarded as mesmerizing, playing a Holocaust survivor with an incestuous relationship with her brother. In Comencini's La storia (from Elsa Morante's novel), Cardinale plays a widow raising a son during World War II and gave another well-received performance. The actress has been UNESCO good will ambassador for the Defense of Women's Rights since 1999. In 2006 (World Water Year) she symbolically extended such a role for the Defense of the Rights of the Absolute Woman : Mother Earth while declaring her support for Powerstock, a sustainable electronic music festival that proposes a "water-consciousness" for youth culture and seeks to make sustainability an integral part of mainstream culture. She is involved in many humanitarian causes and currently lives in Paris.

Here is the title song ("Femina Ridens") from a famous Italian film ("The Laughing Woman") from 1969, sung by Olympia, and chosen to illustrate the beauty of Luciana Paluzzi. Luciana Paluzzi (born in 1937 in Rome, Italy), is a redheaded Italian actress. She is best known for playing SPECTRE assassin Fiona Volpe in the fourth James Bond film "Thunderball". Paluzzi's very first film was an uncredited walk-on part in "Three Coins in the Fountain" (1954). She went on to appear in many movies, most of which were made in her native Italy. In her early films, she is credited as Luciana Paoluzzi. Even though Paluzzi had an extensive resume before and after her brush with James Bond, audiences worldwide still remember her best as the sexy and deadly Thunderball villainess Fiona Volpe. Paluzzi originally auditioned for the part of the lead Bond girl, Dominetta "Domino" Palazzi. The producers eventually cast former Miss France Claudine Auger, changing the Domino character from an Italian to a French woman. Paluzzi was crestfallen when she found out she didn't get the part of Domino, but rejoiced when she found out her consolatory prize was the part of the "bad girl", Fiona Volpe, which she said was "more fun to play". Years later, Paluzzi admitted that being a Bond girl is a double edged sword. She was amazed at the level of fame, publicity and recognition she got from "Thunderball", but as a result of being in such an outlandish film, she was taken less seriously as an actress by her peers. Paluzzi currently resides in Bel-Air, Los Angeles, California. Enjoy Luciana's flamboyant femininity!
