In November 2002, screenwriter William Monahan was hired to write,[16] with the film's release slated for summer 2005.[17] In July 2003, Monahan completed the first draft, with the story no longer set in the jungle.[18] Actor Sam Neill said he was returning as Dr. Alan Grant, with filming expected to begin in 2004 in California and Hawaii.[19] In September 2004, screenwriter John Sayles was re-writing the script, with the film re-slated for a winter 2005 release.[20] His second draft focused on the new character Nick Harris, who returns to Isla Nublar, the location of the first film, and retrieves Dennis Nedry's can of frozen embryos. He is captured by the Grendel corporation, which now owns InGen, and he is hired to train five genetically modified Deinonychus as mercenaries.[21] In October 2004, paeleontologist Jack Horner said he would return as technical adviser for the fourth film as he had done for previous Jurassic Park films.[22] By April 2005, special effects artist Stan Winston explained that the delay in production was due to repeated revisions of the film's script, none of which satisfied Spielberg. According to Winston, "He felt neither of [the drafts] balanced the science and adventure elements effectively. It's a tough compromise to reach, as too much science will make the movie too talky, but too much adventure will make it seem hollow."[23] In February 2006, producer Frank Marshall said a "good script" had been completed and filming would begin in 2007 for a 2008 release.[24] In March 2007, Sam Neill said he was not asked to reprise his role as Dr. Alan Grant,[25] while Laura Dern was asked to return for the new film, which Universal still wanted to release by 2008.[26] Director Joe Johnston was also reported not to be directing the film.[27] Richard Attenborough has been contacted about reprising the role of John Hammond.[28] Jeff Goldblum has expressed some interest in reprising his role for the fourth film. [29] In December 2008, Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy were asked if there was any development on the long-anticipated sequel. Kennedy responded, "No... I don't know. You know, when [Michael] Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that's it. Maybe that's a sign that we don't mess with it."[30] While Marshall and Kennedy were no longer signed with Universal Pictures in a production capacity, the two will remain involved with the studio and its plans for Jurassic Park IV.[31]

Hilarious Japanese Dinosaur Prank Japanese Man Terrified By 'Dinosaur' on TV Show Hilarious Japanese Dinosaur Prank Japanese Man Terrified By 'Dinosaur' on TV Show Hilarious Japanese Dinosaur Prank Japanese Man Terrified By 'Dinosaur' on TV Show Hilarious Japanese Dinosaur Prank Japanese Man Terrified By 'Dinosaur' on TV Show Jurassic prank: Terrified Japanese office worker chased by 'dinosaur' in bonkers game show stunt. Japanese TV gameshows are notoriously barmy, but this could just be the best prank to date. A hapless office worker gets the shock of his life when he is suddenly confronted by a Jurassic Park-style dinosaur. The man is first seen calmly sauntering down the corridor with a cup of coffee in his hand. He then notices fellow workers running from something and, from the look on his face, begins to realise something is wrong. But when a man wearing a dinosaur suit - that looks like the vicious Raptors from the Jurassic Park films - pokes his head around the corner he nearly jumps out of his skin. The terrified man bolts down the corridor stumbling several times along the way as he desperately tries to escape. Unfortunately for him he failed to notice the dinosaur was wearing jeans.

Take a Ride on The Jurassic Park River Adventure Raft at Universal Studios Hollywood in 1080p HD. The Jurassic Park River Adventure is a water-based amusement ride that is based on Steven Spielberg's hit film Jurassic Park. The Hollywood incarnation, called Jurassic Park: The Ride, was actually researched and built while the Jurassic Park film was still in its production phase. It opened first at Universal Studios Hollywood as Jurassic Park: The Ride on June 21, 1996. A copy of the ride, called the Jurassic Park River Adventure, was later built at Islands of Adventure at the Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida in 1999. A third copy of the ride is also featured at Universal Studios Japan. There is little difference between the three rides, although the Hollywood version is slightly longer and considered to have the most show elements, and the Japan version was built as a mirror image of both the Hollywood and Orlando versions. A river rapids version of the attraction, which will be entitled the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, is planned for both Universal Studios Singapore in 2010, and Universal Studios Dubailand in 2012. Among the the guests in attendance at the ride's grand opening celebration in 1996 were film cast members Jeff Goldblum, Ariana Richards, and Joseph Mazzello. Steven Spielberg also attended the opening, but requested that he be let off of the attraction before the 85-foot drop (he apparently makes this request every time he rides the attraction). The main differences in the Hollywood version of the ride from the Florida and Japan versions include two Compsognathuses fighting over a popcorn box, a falling Ford Explorer tour jeep (from the first film) instead of the Velociraptor crate (which is featured in both the Orlando and Japan versions), as well as two encounters with the menacing Tyrannosaurus (both the Orlando and Japan versions feature only one). A bloody set of Mickey Mouse ears can be seen floating in the water next to the abandoned tour raft, which is an obvious dig at the nearby Disneyland Resort. The hat formally had the name "Michael" sewn on it, which was a reference to Michael Eisner, CEO of the Walt Disney Company at the time of attraction's opening. The hat now has the name "Kerr" sewn on it in honor of Kerr Lordygan, the attraction's manager. The Dilophosaurus attacks occur outside at the water pumping station, unlike the Florida and Japan versions where they occur inside of the Environmental Systems Building. After the second lift hill, the Hollywood version has a slightly bigger drop as well before it makes the 180 degree turn to the main drop. After the main drop, the shaving cream canister containing the zygotes from the film can be spotted to the riders' left just before arriving at the unload platform. Additionally, after the final drop, one more Dilophosaurus sprays guests with water just before the raft returns to the station. According to a Universal Studios employee, every year, all of the employees take part in what they call a "Duck Hunt". All employees write their name on a rubber duck toy, and place it into the rides river. They then turn the ride on, and the person whos duck completes the whole circuit of the ride (including the drop) wins a prize. During Universal Studios Hollywood's annual "Halloween Horror Nights" in 2008, the ride was temporarily re-named "Jurassic Park: Nightmare" in keeping with the theme ("Live Your Worst Nightmare") or "Jurassic Park in the Dark". Alterations included shutting off most of the lights inside the Environmental Systems Building near the end of the ride, while the occasional strobe light illuminated violent scenes of dinosaurs tearing apart scientists and game wardens. Also, the tense Jurassic Park score during this portion of the ride was replaced with "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'N' Roses.
