Occasionally leopards would fight lions if hungry. Here, a large leopard fights a lioness and her pride over food.
It was probably the leopard's kill to begin with and was driven off by the lions and went back to reclaim his kill. But who knows? Comes to show just how vicious the underestimated leopard really is!

Wildlife photographer, Pia Dierickx captured a series of amazing photos of a lioness in Botswana attacking a crocodile that was threatening her pride. A lion's pride is the social group they form and live their lives with including their cubs.
The photographer was in Botswana observing the lioness and her pride crossing a riverbed. When the crocodile appeared, the lioness jumped and grabbed the croc by it's mouth. The two battled it out, biting each other, until the lioness ran off.
Dierickx told press that she hardly even noticed what happened since it happened so quickly. She told press, It was only when I downloaded my pictures later that I saw what had happened.
Last year a lioness was caught by photographer Jean-Francois Lagrot rescuing her cubs from a slippery slope at Kenya's Maasai Mara game reserve. Also, a Huffington Post video exemplifies a trainer visiting four young lions and on his last day of wor and the lions show an outpouring of love for him.
Currently, Asian lions are on the endangered species list and the African lion population has been shrinking. According to the World Wildlife Federation (WWF), the African lion population has declined by 30 percent over the last two decades, due to prey depletion and killings.
3 lionesses defend their 2 cubs against 2 new males who have come for a takeover! Luckily for the lionesses the new males are quite nervous and insecure and so are relatively merciful in their behaviour.

We are proud to present the second episode of SoulCulture.TV's new series: The Co-Sign; teaming up talented and exciting artists in mutual nods of appreciation with exclusive collaborations created for SoulCulture TV.
For this episode we teamed up the North London raised double BRIT Award and three time MOBO Award winning MC and singer Ms. Dynamite, who just scored a top 40 chart position with her latest single "Neva Soft," with three of the most exciting up and coming MCs from the UK scene right now.
Stepping up to the mic with Dynamite for this special remix are Amplify Dot, who recently released her banger of a collaboration with Kano "Semantics" as well as her solid Born Ready mixtape; Birmingham repping Lady Leshurr who almost spits verses in bullet time on her take on Chris Brown's "Look At Me Now"; and South London rhyme animal Lioness whose buzzworthy mixtape Roarness was released last week.
Although Amplify Dot, Lady Leshurr and Lioness are solo artists in their own right, they come together as an earth shattering unit called 367 (a reference to their individual positions on The Grime Report's 2011 top female MCs list, which was topped by Ms. Dynamite) and the results are outstanding.
So bear witness to what happened when 367 joined forces with #1 for an EXCLUSIVE remix of the Labrinth-produced "Neva Soft" for The Co-Sign. Watch below.
A great tribute to the Queen of the beasts. The lioness.
Un gran homenaje a la Reina de las bestias. La leona.
A haunting call echoes across the Liuwa Plain. There is no answer, there hasn't been for years. She has no pride, no support - she alone must safeguard her own survival. Her name is Lady Liuwa, and she is the Last Lioness.Isolated by a scourge of illegal trophy hunting that wiped out the rest of her species in the region, Lady Liuwa is the only known resident lion surviving on Zambia's Liuwa Plain. For four years, cameraman Herbert Brauer watched her lonely life unfold, until, in her solitude, she reached out to him for companionship.
