You naturally think of Mount Rushmore when you think South Dakota, the craggy faces of past presidents staring out into space
But South Dakota has one of the largest herds of American bison on the continent
Buffalo Bill may have gone the way of the wild wild west, but every year modern day cowboys and cowboy wannabes come from around the world and gather in Custer State Park to round up the more than 1000 head of buffalo
You can imagine the sounds of thundering hooves, the crack of the whips, the cowboy hoots and hollers…
and of course there’s the sound of those motor vehicles for those who’ve never been in a saddle
it’s a great exercise…keeping the lore of the west alive… every September, the wild herds are rounded up, vaccinated and released back into the wild
Of course Buffalo Bill Cody and Annie Oakley send their best and I’m sure they wish they could be here
Even the buffalo seem happy

Solve puzzles and defeat enemies with the help of a friendly creature of lore in Namco Bandai's Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom.
Fans of movies such as ‘Martin’, ‘The Hunger’ and ‘Let The Right One In’ looking for their next bloody fix of intelligent and ‘realist’ vampire fare need look no further than Not Like Others, the accomplished debut feature from writer-director Peter Pontikis and starring Jenny Lampa (Dead On Arrival) and Ruth Vega Fernandez (the ‘Johan Falk’ film series).
Vera (Jenny Lampa) and Vanja (Ruth Vega Fernandez) are a pair of vampire sisters, bloodsucking outcasts struggling to live a secret life in semi-isolation in the bleak suburbs of Stockholm. While hanging out together in one of the city’s dive bar nightclubs, Vera makes the fatal mistake of feeding on and killing the leader of a skinhead biker gang in one of the club’s toilet stalls. When the body is discovered by one of the victim’s buddies, the sisters are forced to run into the night, pursued by a gang of ruthless thugs intent on revenge.
During the intimidating ordeal of being hunted, Vanja begins to open up to Vera and reveals her already-rooted but, until now, unspoken plans to give up being an outsider, to try and adjust to the real world and to begin a relationship with a human with whom she believes she has fallen in love. Terrified by the idea of having to live a life of solitude as a vampire without her sister, Vera decides she will do anything to keep Vanja by her side. Meanwhile, the skinhead bikers are closing in…
Director Pontikis’ highly original and almost existentialist take on vampire lore uniquely and refreshingly presents the protagonists as sympathetic characters, resulting in a surprisingly heartbreaking story of two sisters whose common dependency upon human blood and each other become the very things that threaten to tear them apart.

Take a tour of St. Michele Church of Lucca in Italy – part of the World’s Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
The site of Tuscany's St. Michele Church of Lucca has seen numerous prominent historical figures including the composer, Puccini.
Its construction spanned from the eleventh century to the fourteenth, when the facade was completed.
Its unique facade boasts busts of famous men from its era, a unique feature for a classic Italian church.
The Archangel Michael aptly stands atop the church; the building is dedicated to him.
The wondrous facade, which is taller than the actual church, is composed of many metallic elements so that it can better resist the winds.
According to local lore, the archangel watches over Lucca and ensures its protection.

As a fan of the original Tron film, the buildup to Tron: Legacy is very exciting. Between the books, comics, and the video game, Disney and its partners have coordinated a multi-media event that all ties in together. The comics, recently published by Marvel, tie into the video game—which, in turn leads directly into the movie.
That really puts the gamer into the driver’s seat as far as story, which is meta-cool. Tron is about programs who appear as avatars of their users, and in Tron: Evolution you’re driving around Anon, your own avatar on The Grid.
Okay, okay…I’ll try to stop the geek-out there.
You play as Anon, a special System Monitor programmed by Kevin Flynn to investigate a conspiracy on “The Grid”—a digital landscape where programs lead lives of their own, and are beginning to evolve.
The game doesn’t go into details about what makes Anon special, but I imagined him as a kind of supercop or special forces program. His helmet/visor is purposefully opaque so that the player can imagine that, in keeping with Tron lore, he looks like you. His armor is partially reflective so that it mirrors the light sources around you, and his light bars dim and fluctuate if you get low on health.
Somewhere in time, right after surf woodies were still easily spotted on Pacific Coast Hwy and substantially before Valley Girls emerged, you would have found Don and Parlee Chambers growing up in Southern California: He on Manhattan Beach and she in the orange-groved San Fernando Valley. Back then, beach cottages merged with inland storefronts of deco design and, further in, fields and farms were gradually dotted by streets of post-WWII houses. Dirt boulevards and roadside stands, surfing long boards and hunting grunion aren't just a part of family lore but of their own memories. Raised by parents who were also born in LA, (back in the 1920's), the memories, spirit and roots of the very early California experience are very much a part of who they are.
Surprisingly, however, in the face of choosing the best city for a new commercial photography studio, the waves being made in Atlanta are what lured Don down to the "real" South. Success happened fast. Highly regarded photography, great people, 2 kids (Lily and Dustin) and the perfect dog, has made Atlanta home. To be sure, that bold move in '83 was a sweet decision.
Now, 24 years after freshly rolling onto Peachtree Street, and with the notable success of the former Pelosi & Chambers studio under their belt, Don and Parlee have created Studio Chambers. Located in Atlanta's historic Inman Park, the comfortable, state of the art, 4500 sq ft studio is an expression of all that has brought them to this new place in time.
Don and Parlee Chambers have renovated and transformed the long time Electric Motor Repair shop into their advertising photography studio. By day, this space serves their photo shoots for food and people assignments, in the evenings and weekends, it is a venue like no other. Walk in, and you will see a space that feels 1 part: advertising studio, 1 part: best-loft-ever, and 3 parts: Hollywood back lot. Like an old soundstage, the 3000 sq ft interior houses a southern farmhouse with rocking porch, NY brownstone, a factory office, 60's chill room & make up/wardrobe space. It is so wonderful that people really barely need to decorate. A 20ft cyc wall provides a great backdrop for your band or dj, as well as being the perfect surface on which to project movies, slides, and presentations. (Indoor "screen-on-the-green" events have been very popular.)
Our sound system can be tapped into by your laptop, or an ipod if you just want to use a playlist. In addition, you will have use of an eclectic, modular living area, a conference area illuminated by a surfboard chandelier, and a full professional kitchen.
Yes, there is plenty of free parking.
The Studio is located in the historic area of Inman Park. It is a stone's throw from The Old 4th Ward, Cabbagetown, and the restaurant/bar hubbub of the Highland area. This is a corner of Atlanta that is bustling with inventive, creative energy.
Come visit, and you'll see what we mean.

This is Newsy Now and here are the headlines you need to know.
In U.S. news — the Wisconsin Assembly passed the bill that would limit the collective bargaining rights of government employee unions.
CNN says the fight is still far from over — the bill still has to pass the Senate, which could become a more contentious confrontation. The fourteen Democratic state senators who fled the state are still absent as of early Friday.
In world news, an update on Libya — where it seems Muammar al-Gaddafi’s grip is loosening, as protesters close in on the capital. euronews reports.
Euronews: “In the country's second city Benghazi, which is all but free of government forces, there were jubilant scenes as protesters called for Gaddafi to go … Gaddafi’s fate appears to rest on the control of a number of key strategic locations, most notably Tripoli. So far he appears to remain in charge of the capital, although there are reports of fierce fighting in towns close to the city."
In business news — Boeing wins a $35 billion program to build 179 new air tankers for the U.S. Air Force.
BusinessWeek talks to one analyst who says the aviation industry was not expecting Boeing to win at all. Boeing’s competition, European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co., had apparently spent millions for lobbying.
The Air Force’s tanker fleet consists mostly of planes that first entered service in 1956.
In entertainment -- actor Charlie Sheen went on the Alex Jone’s radio show and let his self confidence do the talking. The expletive-filled rant that followed took low blows at Alcoholics Anonymous and Two and a Half Men producer Chuck Lore.
"Check it Alex, I embarrassed him in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace his unevolved mind cannot process."
Sheen later pushed the envelope by refering to AA as a “cult”. In the world of CBS, that kind of publicity brings trouble -- and as of yesterday the network has officially ceased production on their number one sitcom Two and a Half Men. Time magazine says he “seems to be doing his best impression of how to spectacularly end a career in showbiz.” They refer to his antics as a Mel Gibson-like downward spiral.
