Launch video for Live or Die web series. If you'd like to see this series produced, please support our campaign at:
Here’s the first update. It’s a few hours late due to the differences in editing on an older laptop vs a newer desktop. For those of you who are curious, Pinnacle Studio HD can handle HD files but with reservations. On my older single-core PC laptop editing is a guessing game since the hardware can’t display video to keep up with the audio. Surely it’s much better on a newer machine but you’ll need a very strong graphics card.
Please spread the word on Live or Die so we can put up a strong foundation. The first major goal is to hit the 25% funding mark—$2,000 since most campaigns that reach 25% go on to finish successfully—but let’s start with a first goal of $500.
Thank you to the first contributors. Bread for Dough starts Friday!
Since one of the donation rewards for the Live or Die Kickstarter campaign is a loaf of unique bread, I'm working with that concept to draw your attention to the campaign via these bread baking mini-episodes.
Whether you donate to the campaign or not (though please do--even $5 helps and builds awareness), enjoy these episodes. May they inspire you to fill your home with the scent of freshly baked bread!
Here's the second episode of Bread for Dough, in support of the Live or Die web series Kickstarter campaign. This is the first demonstration of atypical bread-making with more to follow in coming weeks. To see how this relates to indie filmmaking, please watch all the way to the end.
This attention-getting video is to direct your attention to our Kickstarter campaign. Please support our project; amounts as little as $1 are greatly appreciated!
I know you'll enjoy this one.
(The music is by Greg Stitt, a piece entitled "A Shadow On The Mountain.")

Something went horribly wrong with Friday’s Bread for Dough episode so I’ve turned it into a BfD extra for today’s update. Ok, how bad can a disfiguring bread mishap be? You must watch and see.
At some point this ship needs to turn the corner and I think this is it. We’re almost at the 30 day mark so it’s time to take things seriously. There will be blood. Funny blood.
Please send the link to this video to everyone you know who has ever watched a movie (especially horror) or a television show; that should do it. I really need everyone’s help.
Btw, if you don’t know the reference in this update watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piWCBOsJr-w
Episode 3 of Bread for Dough in support of the Live or Die web series Kickstarter fundraising campaign. This is my thank you for your consideration. You give me dough, I’ll give you bread!
Today it’s a rich wheat bread. I’ll teach you how to make a tasty wheat bread without the dryness or chunkiness of a whole-grain bread.
Our Kickstarter project has 30 days to go. We need your support with as little as $1. There are rewards for all contribution levels from a free MP3 to a huge trip to Disneyland!
Music by Greg Stitt from the Manhater Soundtrack (available on iTunes).
Today's recipe, Wheat Bread:
1 cup white flour, 1 cup wheat flour,
1/4 cup wheat germ, 2 tablespoons wheat bran, 2 teaspoons flax meal (optional; some people don’t like this flavor), 1 teaspoon almond powder, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon powdered butter flavoring,
6 tablespoons wheat gluten flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 3/4 water,
2 eggs, 4 tablespoons oil. Top off dry ingredients with white flour to total 2 1/2 cups volume.
No doubt you’re going to start having recurring dreams about being chased by a giant butter knife. At least now you’ll know where it comes from.
The cast of Horror Convention Line, left to right in the video is:
Aaron Williams as Victim
Jessica Pissini, as Toast’s Girlfriend
Mike Pfaff, as Toast
David “Dax” Bauer, as Steve (aka Zombie with Hand Sandwich)
Hayley Briggs as Nikki (aka Space Pilot)
Director Jacqui Siler at right.
You can’t help but have a great shoot with a fun script like this and we definitely did. We’d love to be able to do more episodes like this so please pledge a few dollars!
Stay tuned for behind the scenes footage in the coming updates.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Tilt for the wrap of principle photography. Movie #2 made in Brainerd, Minnesota!

Bread for Dough supports marketing efforts for the Manhater movie including production of the Live or Die web series.
If you’ve enjoyed this episode and the full Bread for Dough series, please consider a small thank you donation to the effort. Indie movie production is an enormous challenge, likely to remain so for the foreseeable future. Your donation supports not just this effort but my forward momentum (to documentaries next).
