Coming up in the music news: Eminem tells all in his new book, plus the latest Brit band to get back together, and the next generation for Guitar Hero lovers.
Hi everyone, its your girl Andrea Rene bringing your the latest news from the music scene right here at get the daily****.
One of America's favorite rappers is coming back to the music scene! Sort of. Unfortunately, Eminem is not going back in the studio to make a new album, but he is publishing a tell-all memoir called "The Way I am." It will be illustrated with never before seen drawings, plus photos of his home. The memoir is described as an intimate look inside the life of Marshall Mathers. It is currently still being written and edited, but will be available for purchase beginning this fall.
British band the Verve are the latest in an increasing long line of bands to reunite, well okay they never really broke up. They will have their first scheduled show in the US in nearly a decade when they play at Coachella in late April. Y'all remember the Verve right? Known best for their epic song "Bittersweet symphony," the group has also announced they will play a few summer festivals in Europe as well, plus the guys will play shows in Las Vegas and New York. AND, expect to see the Verve's new album in stores this June.
Do you love beating on the drums along with your favorite songs on Rock Band? Or maybe you'd prefer to shred on the guitar along with Guitar Hero? Well, whatever your fancy, and you probably fancy both like me, prepare yourself for the next greatest thing for video game musicians. It's called "Ultimate Band" and its made by Disney. After seeing the Guitar Hero franchise pass the 1 billion dollar mark, Disney wanted to get in on the action. Their game will only be available on Nintendo game systems and unlike its predecessors, there will be no plastic instruments, just your good ole controller. But you will be able to create your own tunes by laying down tracks for different instruments. No release date has been set and no songs have been announced, but considering the crazy success of High School Musical and Hannah Montana, expect this game to be one for the kids.
That's it from the music scene. I'm Andrea Rene and thanks for watching get the daily****.
