Most of us drink nowhere near enough water, but if you are training and dieting water takes on much more importance and can make building a better body far easier. The recommended amount of water is eight 200ml glasses a day. Do you do that now? Most probably not (if you're like most of us, that is..) Now, if you're training you actually NEED to be increasing your water intake and it would be a good idea to aim for 8-10 glasses per day as your body requires it alot more than that of a person not exercising. I know many people who believed water was causing them to retain a layer of fat around their belly yet discovered it was actually down to Fizzy Drinks. The chemicals in these drinks forcing the body to hang onto fat in this area. Water's job is to flush out your system, you'll notice an immediate change if you swap fizzy drinks for a drink of water.
