It's STAR WARS EPISODE IV.V: ATTACK OF THE AGGIES as Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper crash-landed on the Main Campus of NMSU in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Apparently, the Tatooine-like desert landscape was the reason for the confusion! They marched through the International Mall on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Stormtroopers have previously been caught on campus marching throughout various areas on campus. Is a sequel in the works?

The new NMSU building located at the corner of E. University Ave. & Jordan St. in Las Cruces will be the new home for the Barnes & Noble at NMSU bookstore & café, Auxiliary Administration, the Parking Dept. (moving Oct. 2011) and a new retail operation to be announced in the near future. This video showcases raw footage of the construction process. More than two dozen additional employees have been hired to staff the new store, which will open to both the NMSU community & general public Aug. 1, 2011.
New Mexico State University faculty, staff, and students, along with various community leaders met at the Corbett Center Student Union Art Gallery on Oct. 13 to kick-off the second annual "NMSU Aggies are Tough Enough to Wear Pink" campaign. This week-long event kick-offs with the party and then includes various other activities throughout the university and Las Cruces, New Mexico, including a luminaria ceremony, a walk/run, and various educational events.
The 2008 New Mexico State University campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer and funds for Cowboys for Cancer Research ended with a door decorating contest, a tailgate party, and several on-field events during the San Jose State football game. The presidents of both New Mexico State University and the University of Texas at El Paso came together at NMSU's Corbett Center Student Union on September 10, 2009, to announce that the annual blood drive contest has officially begun. The winner of the blood donation contest will be announced during halftime at the NMSU vs. UTEP football game on Saturday, September 19, at Aggie Memorial Stadium. The event was hosted by Hillary Floren of ABC 7's "Good Morning, El Paso." The NMSU Pride Band was also on hand!
The Spring 2010 TAOS IRON CHEF competition got underway April 8 at Taos Restaurant inside Corbett Center Student Union on the Main Campus of New Mexico State University. Highlights include Jacqueline Baker's Chiquita Banana dance and Jonathan Haltiwanger's hosting hijinx. Teams and judges consisted of university employees and students. Prizes included chef jackets, Visa gift cards from Wells Fargo, and a large trophy.
Bailando con las Pinguinas is a prominent feature of the annual Fiestas Latinas celebration. The 2010 event was held on April 16 during a windy, overcast day. However, that didn't stop any of the participants from showcasing their talents on the New Mexico State University Corbett Center Student Union Outdoor Stage. Money Management Fair: Red to Green held along the International Mall on the Main Campus of New Mexico State University on April 20, 2010. Events included a dunk tank, inflatable jousting, and of course, information on how to better manage your money. This video shows about a minute of the dunk tank. Although unintended, the shots I got appear to be one-sided! Sorry, guys!
The Spring 2010 Finals Pancake Supper was held the evening of May 4 inside and outside of Taos Restaurant on the Main Campus of New Mexico State University. 1,007 Aggies (not including volunteers) enjoyed pancakes & omelets, sang karaoke and were treated to a live performance from popular Las Cruces musician, Daniel Park. The Corbett Director let loose, as well!
