"Just because the graphics are better doesn't mean the game is better" - Classic Game Room fights the evil Jaquio in Ninja Gaiden for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Ninja Gaiden is recently seen on the Playstation 3 in Ninja Gaiden Sigma, some 20 years after the 1st game... so you know this game has something going for it. Great music, great story and great cutscenes. But does the gameplay measure up? Is it as good as Revenge of Shinobi? Check out Classic Game Room's review of Ninja Gaiden. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360.

Ninja Gaiden review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Ninja Gaiden for Nintendo PlayChoice-10. I know, I know. This game is misnamed. It's not actually a "gaiden," or side story, because it's actually the main story of this series. What was wrong with "Legend of the Ninja Dragon Sword?" (A direct translation of the Japanese title, "NINJA Ryukenden.") That's, like, three more buzzwords right there. And it actually references the Dragon Sword from the first cutscene! Don't tell me you wouldn't have plunked quarters into that one for all time. And that'd be a lot of quarters, 'cuz this thing is a BEAST. This video review features video gameplay footage of Ninja Gaiden for Nintendo PlayChoice-10 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for Playstation 3. Ninja Gaiden gets another re-release, but this time it does not come with great improvements. Actually the game does away with many things that made it so good. With the elimination of much of the blood and enemies, the game looks and feels drastically different. The new bosses and general new feel of the combat may be enough to warrant some interest, but for the most part the game feels like a shell of its former shelf. This video review features video gameplay footage of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for Playstation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Ryan.

Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Ninja Gaiden for the NES. Released by Tecmo in 1989, this version on the Nintendo Entertainment System isn't a beat-em-up like the original arcade classic, but instead took the route of an intense sidescrolling platformer. One of the most beloved and feared games of its generation, Ninja Gaiden puts you in control of Ryu Hayabusa in a difficult battle against the villain Jaquio and his minions who strive to conquer the world. This review features Ninja Gaiden gameplay footage and commentary from CGRundertow reviewer Kevin.

Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos for the NES. Released by Tecmo in 1990, Ryu Hayabusa's adventures continue in this direct sequel. The intense sidescrolling platforming action is still intact, but new maneuvers, ninja magic, and phantom ninja clones enhance the challenging gameplay even further. Creative level designs, environment effects, and further polished presentation make this one of the best of the series, and a true classic on the Nintendo Entertainment System. This review features Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos gameplay footage and commentary from CGRundertow reviewer Kevin.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus from Team Ninja and Tecmo for Playstation Vita. If you haven't played Ninja Gaiden yet, you have absolutely no excuse. The game has been released and re-released for almost every game system imaginable. Now it finds itself on the Vita, with a little plus added for the sum of all those previous games. You once again step into the shoes of Ryu, as he hunts the fiends that attacked his village and clan. The difference now being on the Vita. You can tap the screen to enter into a first person view mode and tap to fire arrows. There are also new enhancements you can wear, giving you additional power or defense. Or you can play on the forgiving new difficulty if you are worried about breaking your Vita in anger. But that is really all there is. The rest is the same great game as before, now just portable and still beautiful. If you have never played it before, this is a fine version. But if you have, there isn't much new here to justify another purchase. This video review features video gameplay footage of Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus for Playstation Vita and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Ryan.
