"We have been away for quite some time", declared guitarist and founding member Kai Hansen. "We have released what we consider a very beautiful live product, 'Live -- Skeletons and Majesties', but we felt it was time to release some new music by the Rayz... With its 60 minutes of pure and raw Gamma Ray, "Master Of Confusion" is a great way to wait for the new album, scheduled for the end of 2013. Coinciding with the start of the "Hellish Rock, Part II" tour, "Master of Confusion" will be released on March 15th, 2013 via earMUSIC. Gamma Ray always takes its music and the relationship with their fans very seriously, and the band wanted this release to be priced as a mid price mini-album. Kai & co. are not afraid to celebrate their peculiarity with humour and irony. Reading the lyrics of the song 'Master Of Confusion' not too many clarifications are necessary... Gamma Ray are indeed the masters of confusion, a trait all the fans and also the music industry had no option than to accept and appreciate. They bring chaos to other people's lives, they miss important deadlines, they reschedule the release of the desperately awaited new long player, but they never miss a show, they never let a fan down, and in a world of calculated and career-driven rock stars, they are among the few remaining honest true heavy metal heroes. In addition to the brand new studio song, "Master Of Confusion" features a second new studio track: 'Empire Of The Undead', showing the heavier side of the band, with an explosion of energy and pure Gamma Ray sound at its best. The release is not free from tasty rarities: a brand new studio cover versions of British Glam Rock band Sweet ('Lost Angels' - "the reason I have joined a band many years ago", stated Hansen) and a hidden treasure of NWOBHM ('Death Or Glory' by Holocaust). "Master Of Confusion" is rounded off with six live versions ('The Spirit,' 'Wings Of Destiny,' 'Farewell,' 'Gamma Ray,' 'Time To Break Free' and 'Insurrection' recorded in Bochum) that were already included on the Blu-ray "Live -- Skeletons and Majesties" but were not featured on the CD release (which included the show recorded in Pratteln). Tracklist A Side 1. Empire Of The Undead (new studio track) 2. Master Of Confusion (new studio track) B Side 3. Death Or Glory (Holocaust studio cover version) 4. Lost Angels (Sweet studio cover version) C Side* 5. The Spirit / 6. Wings Of Destiny / 7. Gamma Ray 8. Farewell / 9. Time To Break Free / 10. Insurrection *Recorded live in Bochum. January 3, 1968 http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FSimon-%2526-Garfunkel%2Fe%2FB000AQ2ZUC%2F&tag=tra0c7-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325 Watch the full show: http://thesixtiesarchive.blogspot.com/2010/12/simon-garfunkel-live-at-the-kraft-music.html "The Sounds of Silence" is the song that propelled the 1960s folk music duo Simon and Garfunkel to popularity. It was written in February 1964 by Paul Simon in the aftermath of the November 22, 1963 assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. The song features Simon on acoustic guitar and both Simon and Garfunkel singing. It was originally recorded as an acoustic piece for their first album Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00160ANTG?ie=UTF8&tag=tra0c7-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00160ANTG but on the initiative of the record company was later overdubbed with electric instruments and re-released as a single in September 1965. The single reached number one on New Year's Day 1966 and was included in the 1966 album Sounds of Silence. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003AYBCV4?ie=UTF8&tag=tra0c7-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B003AYBCV4 The song was originally called "The Sounds of Silence" and is titled that way on the early albums in which it appeared and on the single. In later compilations it was retitled "The Sound of Silence". Both the singular and the plural form of the word appear in the lyrics. In his book Lyrics 1964--2008 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002DMJUI6?ie=UTF8&tag=tra0c7-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B002DMJUI6 Simon has the title in the singular. The song was used three times in the film The Graduate, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000F798?ie=UTF8&tag=tra0c7-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00000F798 played during the opening credits and the closing footage. Its use in "The Graduate" was parodied in the comedy film Old School, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AQMBL4?ie=UTF8&tag=tra0c7-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B001AQMBL4 when Will Ferrell gets shot with a tranquilizer dart and falls into the pool going into a dream daze and also in Kingpin, when it was played following sexual activity between protagonist Roy Munson and his landlady. In the film Bobby it is played during Robert Kennedy's victory speech at the Ambassador Hotel, just before his assassination. It can also be heard in the last episodes of the Japanese dorama Taiyo to Umi no Kyoshitsu. In the film More American Graffiti, the 1966 recording is heard playing after a rather large bar fight. In 2009's Watchmen the song is featured on the soundtrack for the film and used during The Comedian's funeral. Dutch folk duo Nick & Simon have covered this song (in English) in various performances throughout the Netherlands in 2009 and have made their own recording of this cover under their artist name. NWOBHM outfit Bitches Sin issued a cover version of this track as a single in October 2009. New Zealand singer/song-writer Brooke Fraser covered this song live for her Albertine tour and is available in the Deluxe Edition of her studio album of the same name. The Smashing Pumpkins have performed a heavy, extended cover of the song on their 20th anniversary tour, which varies greatly in sound from the original. The heavy metal band Nevermore include a cover of the song on their album Dead Heart in a Dead World. U.K. girl group Bananarama covered the song as a bonus download only from their 2009 album Viva. The Coolies released a punk rock version on their album Take That You Bastards. The progressive metal band Heir Apparent recorded their version of the song and included it on the album Triad. The Smashing Pumpkins also released a cover of the song in their Live Smashing Pumpkins album series. The Dickies perform a fast paced version of the song. All Angels performed the song on their sophomore album. The German Death Metal band Atrocity covered the song on its Gemini album. The German musical project Gregorian covered the song on its album Masters of Chant. Emilíana Torrini covered the song on the compilation album Stone Free. Ascension of the Watchers covered the song on their album Numinosum. In the 1966 Carlo Rossi translate the song in Italian, with title La tua immagine; this version was recorded by Mike Liddell e gli Atomi (1966), Luisa Casali (1967) e Dino (1968) Another Italian version (translate by Bruno Lauzi with title Il suono del silenzio) was recorded by Adriano Pappalardo (1975) The Stanford Harmonics recorded a rock arrangement of the song with four soloists for their 2008 album Escape Velocity. Shaw Blades covered both The Sound of Silence and I Am a Rock on their 2007 album Influence. Sharleen Spiteri covered the song on her album The Movie Songbook.

Terror by the band called Hexx (USA). They were formed as Paradox and then around 1983 they became known as Hexx. Their style changed between the years, in their first album they played straight heavy metal with a touch of NWOBHM, in their second album the thrashy sound was introduced and it sounded like thrash/heavy metal and in their third album their sound was completely different, playing death/thrash metal. Their last album didn't got much attention and then they split up.

This sing is arguably Sabre's most memorable song titled Miracle Man. Sabre was a NWOBHM that never gained to much popularity. I don't know too much about em but enjoy this classic of theirs.
