Britney and K-Fed met to dicuss custody matters in a effort to avoid bringing the issue to trial. Although no deals were made, E! News reports that the meeting was productive and positive. Kevin Federline has had custody of their two children since January, and it looks as if he's doing a good job of being a daddy. But it's looking like the court will decide the fate of the two spears-federline tots in august.
To divorce or not to divorce, that is the question on everyone's mind when it comes to Madonna and Guy Ritchie. Especially since word on the street is that Madge has been meeting with Paul McCartney's divorce lawyer. Sounds pretty ominous, but Guy Ritchies mom, lady amber Leighton told the daily mail that the divorce rumors are absolute rubbish! But divorce or not divorce, you know when your mom gets involved…it's probably not the best of situations.
Looks like there's another celebrity feud on the rise between none other than Spencer Pratt and Mary Kate Olsen. MK made a visit to Dave Letterman this week, where she told the Late Night host that she went to high school with Spencer, and that he has a bad temper. Never one to miss out on getting the last word, Spencer..

The UpTake's Chuck Olsen interviews author Irwin Tang about his book, "Gook: John McCain's Racism and Why It Matters."
McCain first used the work "gook" in the mass media in his 1973 article for U.S. News & World Report. The word appears 12 times in the article and is available online here:
Most recently, McCain used the term in his 2000 presidential campaign, as documented by the San Francisco Chronicle:

Self-professed squatter punk Neil, aka Chunk, thinks a lot needs to change in this country. But, he tells The UpTake's Chuck Olsen that protesting will not do any good.
More at http://www.theuptake.org. Recreate 68 is one of the controversially-named progressive groups organizing demonstrations and other activities at the 2008 DNC in Denver. The UpTake's Chuck Olsen interviews one of the group's founders, Mark Cohen, and documents the first big protest of the DNC. The theme was, "End the Occupation."
Cohen points out that the group is not named "Recreate Chicago 68" or "Recreate DNC 68" a reference to the police riots that errupted during the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago. The group is dedicated to peace, and unlike those protests in 1968, these ended peacefully with no immediate reports of arrests.

More at http://www.theuptake.org. Delyla Wilson tours the country with her family in the "PermiBus," a mobile permaculture demonstration. The group is in the Twin Cities to teach people about sustainable living practices.
On the evening of Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 the bus was pulled over in what police eventually described as a routine traffic stop. After detaining the bus occupants, the police decided the bus was a commercial vehicle and impounded it for inspection, leaving the family and their guests stranded and homeless.
The police allowed the Wilsons to remove their dogs and chickens, but were not allowed to retrieve their computers or any other belongings, including their daughter's shoes.
This incident ended a day that saw multiple pre-RNC raids, which some legal observers believe is a coordinated pre-emptive effort by local and national law enforcement agencies to chill RNC protest action.
