Cardiovascular disease once again ranks as America’s number one killer, according to the American Heart Association. And none of us, not even former professional athletes, are immune. That’s why Dr. Archie Roberts, a former NFL quarterback, began the Living Heart Foundation. LHF offers free cardiac screenings with help from sponsors, including Siemens Medical Solutions, utilizing technologies like advanced ultrasound imaging. Doctors stress that unlike so many other diseases that can progress regardless, heart disease and cardiovascular disease can be halted and slowed over time. They recommend all Americans, regardless of whether they live active or sedentary lives, undergo regular check-ups and cardiac screenings. More than 79 million Americans suffer from some sort of heart disease, according to the latest figures from the American Heart Association. The experts say early detection and prevention can help reduce these numbers. Produced for Siemens

Liposuction techniques have progressed a lot in the last few years, according to David R. Luethcke, M.D., F.A.C.S. Liposuction with ultrasound incorporates an extra step into the suctioning: after IV fluid is injected into fatty tissue, a probe is inserted that breaks up the fatty tissue and emulsifies it. Then the traditional suction cannulas are placed in, evacuating the emulsified fatty solution. This technique helps produce increased removal of fat, tissue contraction and a continued loss of fat cells for several months following the procedure, which leads to an improvement of the result over time. Please visit the Web site of Dr. Luethcke to find out more information about ultrasonic liposuction in the Houston area.

*This is a reedited version* Hey all, I'm Syafie Mustafa - 17 years old and I'm from Kedah, Malaysia. I wishes to be on the first Asia online talent search, iTalentstar. I took a few days recording this video. Using Nokia 6270, this is the result. I edited the whole video using.. Some editor~! Lol.. This is for the competition registration requirements. Anyway, I hope to be in this show really badly since I'm currently doing nothing at home. So, I hope I'm in. Message me or just visit me at my Friendster profile page. is an online talent competition involving participants from four Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines - an interactive experience that kicks off from 22 February 2008. The first talent competition of its kind in Asia, iTALENTSTAR is held in collaboration with Friendster -- the No. 1 online social networking portal in Southeast Asia. With over 28.4 millions unique users globally and 25 millions across the asia pacific regions, the Friendster network promises to make iTALENTSTAR a talent search of unprecedented proportions. Targeting internet-savvy socially-active networkers of minimum 16 years of age, iTALENTSTAR seeks to uncover the hidden talents behind the web. The vision of iTALENTSTAR is to showcase online users' grasp of Web 2.0 technology -- also known as User-Generated Content Creation that includes online video, photos, and blogging. In iTALENTSTAR, the contestants (known as iTALENTS) display their dynamic personalities and creative wit as they undergo a series of 'challenges' that stimulate self-expression and the uniqueness of the individual. We now live in a truly "digital" era, where society's dependence and, interestingly, its use of technology are overwhelming. The paradigm has shifted such that our consumption of traditional, mass media (television, radio and print) has become nearly replaced by that of online, personal media -- i.e. internet media that we digest at our own time and in the mode that we deem meaningful. Likewise, the communicative methods people employ over time have changed. The online-savvy users today embrace personal media -- e-mail, instant messaging and Web 2.0 technology -- to share their passions and ideas. But who are those people who aspire the most number of others with their passion and outlook? These are the people iTALENTSTAR aims to discover. In iTALENTSTAR, we marry this new generation of empowering individuals who yearn to create their own contents, within a competitive environment. iTALENTSTAR will steer social networkers towards a new wave of personal media, which will no doubt sweep the online community and further its progress towards a more dynamic and technologically sophisticated society. The competition kicks off with 10 male and 10 female contestants selected from each country's pool of star-wannabes. They compete to knock out their opponents through 4 rounds of provoking challenges before fighting it out to become the Champions representing their country, and eventually defeating their overseas counterparts in the final challenge to ascend the throne as the Asia iTALENSTARS (1 male and 1 female). While the iTALENTSTAR competition is open only to Friendster members residing in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, online users from Asia and beyond are welcomed to participate in the voting. Bringing together talent, creativity and fraternal spirits between countries, iTALENTSTAR has created a new platform for sharing one's gifts and culture, communicating between friends, and most of all, having all kinds of fun. REGIONAL PRESENTER: Nokia N-series (Not that I have one..) COUNTRY PRESENTERS: PHILIPPINES -Globe Broadband MALAYSIA -Xpax Prepaid INDONESIA -Honda PLATINUM SPONSOR: MALAYSIA -Izzi Body Mist Visit for more details. Ok, that's it for now. see y'all later. =j

Diane and Dennis McCarthy both in their 60's found themselves in a predicament when he became confined to a wheelchair for several months after falling off a ladder and breaking his ankle. Diane McCarthy, Home Owner "It was three surgeries and six months of no walking which was pretty inconvenient in this split level house." They turned to Vince Butler, a CAPS contractor who is a certified aging in place specialist to help them modify their home so they could age in place. This enabled them to increase their access and maneuverability should they have other unforeseen difficulties as they age. Vince Butler, Certified Aging in Place Specialist "The CAPS training is really unique I think in the industry..."The training is focused on the needs as folks age. We look at those issues of the normal aging process as well as sort of chronic and acute conditions that can develop." Task lighting, user- friendly appliances, smooth surface flooring and curb-less shower stalls are just some of the features CAPS contractors recommend to age in place. Elinor Ginzler, AARP Dir., Livable Communities "I think this program is incredibly helpful for people who know they want to make some changes to their house.and by locating a remodeler who..is a Certified Aging in Place specialist they know they are going to get somebody who has been trained in this areaand make that house the best possible house over time." CAPS professionals pledge to uphold a code of ethics and are required to maintain their designation by attending continuing education programs.

Stanislav Grof (born July 1, 1931 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is one of the founders of the field of transpersonal psychology and a pioneering researcher into the use of altered states of consciousness for purposes of healing, growth, and insight. Grof received the VISION 97 award granted by the Foundation of Dagmar and Vaclav Havel in Prague on October 5, 2007. Grof is known in particular for his early studies of LSD and its effects on the psyche—the field of psychedelic psychotherapy. He constructed a theoretical framework for pre- and perinatal psychology and transpersonal psychology in which LSD trips and other powerfully emotional experiences were mapped onto one's early fetal and neonatal experiences. Over time, this theory developed into an in-depth "cartography" of the deep human psyche. Following the legal suppression of LSD use in the late 1960s, Grof went on to discover that many of these states of mind could be explored without drugs and instead by using certain breathing techniques in a supportive environment. He continues this work today under the title "Holotropic Breathwork". Grof received his M.D. from Charles University in Prague in 1957, and then completed his Ph.D. in Medicine at the Czechoslovakian Academy of Sciences in 1965, training as a Freudian psychoanalyst at this time. In 1967, he was invited as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, United States, and went on to become Chief of Psychiatric Research at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center where he worked with Walter Pahnke and Bill Richards among others. In 1973, Dr. Grof was invited to the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, and lived there until 1987 as a scholar-in-residence, developing his ideas. Being the founding president of the International Transpersonal Association (ITA) (founded in 1977), he went on to become distinguished adjunct faculty member of the Department of Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness at the California Institute of Integral Studies, a position he remains in today.
