Subaru today unveiled the all-new Subaru Impreza 2.5i and its performance icon cousin, the Impreza WRX at the New York International Auto Show. With new, more sophisticated styling and two new body styles, a 4 door sedan and a 5-door model, the Impreza 2.5i and Impreza WRX breathe new life into the compact performance market. The new Impreza models take a giant leap forward in terms of comfort and utility, while delivering the handling, performance and Subaru Symmetrical AWD that made the original Impreza such a success. Also new for 2008, is the availability of Vehicle Dynamics Control VDC on both the Impreza 2.5i and Impreza WRX. In 2001, Subaru changed the face of the performance market with the introduction of the original WRX, a car that could deliver turbocharged, rally-bred performance in any driving condition. The all new 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX follows that lead with an all-new breed of AWD performance car. The 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX now rides on a 3.7 inch longer wheelbase 103.1 inches that improves ride, interior space and utility. The new WRX is powered by a 2.5 liter flat four Boxer engine delivering 224 horsepower and 226 Lb. ft. of torque and is 50 lbs. lighter than its predecessor. The engine has been modified to produce more torque at lower rpm. With its broader and richer torque curve, the 2008 WRX delivers a smooth stream of power, improving drivability and fuel efficiency. ADVANCED ENGINEERING The new Impreza chassis has improved rigidity and ride comfort with the addition of high tension steel at key structural points. The new design results in a lower overall weight for the body while the longer wheelbase allows for improved ride dynamics as well as increasing interior room and lowering levels of Noise Vibration and Harshness NVH. To further improve handling, the engine is now placed slightly lower in the chassis, lowering the Imprezas center of gravity. In addition, the new chassis improves crash worthiness and provides crisper handling and a stiffer platform. While the new Impreza WRX remains a driver's car, the new WRX represents a better combination of capabilities, maximizing performance, comfort and delivering an advantage over the competition. In conjunction with the new chassis, the Subaru Impreza and WRX feature an all new double wishbone rear suspension. The suspension allows for less intrusion into the cargo area, providing a wider and deeper luggage compartment. The new suspension also delivers improved ride refinement, decreased road noise, and a quieter cabin. MODERN EXTERIOR DESIGN The all-new 2008 Impreza and Impreza WRX are now available in two new body styles, a 4 door and a 5 door. The new 5 door design is clean and elegant, with a sweeping single curve roofline that flows into an aerodynamic rear spoiler. An all new frontal design features the new spread wing logo design at the top of the widened grille. The new grille creates a connection to the Subaru aircraft heritage and places a focus on the Subaru star cluster logo. Both exterior designs focus on detail touches such as the new clear rear lenses on the 5-door, distinctive curved fog lamps and an inward sweeping chrome embellishment that flows the grille design into the bumper. An aggressive lower spoiler adds to the sporting character of the design. The 5 door features a distinctive character line that sweeps upward at the rear, giving the car an agile look. The short rear overhang, new clear rear taillamp lenses and a vertical chrome bar combine to integrate the side character line into tail. The 4 door Impreza and Impreza WRX are unique to the North American market. The new 4 door is 4.5 inches longer than the previous sedan and 6.5 inches longer than the new 5 door models. The extra space provides for a much larger trunk that can accommodate three Tour-size golf bags. The rear seats feature a 60 40 rear split folding mechanism that further enhances cargo capacity. On new 5 door Impreza models, the wide and flat load floor can accommodate two Tour-size golf bags with the rear seats in the upright position. The design of the 4 door models creates an improved road presence, with a wider and sharper front design giving way to a crisp side body crease. The rear of the 4 door Impreza is set apart by red lamp lenses and a chrome strip below the trunk line that visually widens the tail. On WRX models, a new available aero kit denotes the WRX rally car heritage. The 5 door WRX features a rear under body diffuser and single chrome exhaust pipe. The 4 door WRX features dual chrome exhaust tips and a rear trunk spoiler. RICH INTERIOR DESIGN The interior design of the 2008 Impreza places a new emphasis on comfort and space. The new sweeping twin cockpit embraces occupants and brushed aluminum look insets flow into the center stack. The center console shape adds to the airiness of the cockpit design, aided by the sculpted door panels and improved headroom. The door panels house molded recesses that can accommodate 24 oz. soft drink bottles, as well as loose items. Despite retaining the same exterior width as the previous generation Impreza, the new 2008 Impreza features an interior with two inches more front shoulder room than before.

Quebec City offers beauty, fine dining and delightful diversions. And that's just in the train station. My three-hour train journey from Montreal to Quebec ended in what has been called 'the most beautiful train station in North America.' Reminiscent of similar grand terminals in Europe, Quebec City's train station attracts those who come here not only to travel by rail but also to dine at the best steak house in town, according to our cab driver. The train station also houses a few shops and even a dentist office, should you want to dash in for a quick cleaning before the conductor calls 'All Aboard.' Quebec has been called also been called ‘the most European city in North America’ and the "most romantic city in Canada." Add to those: one of my all-time favorite cities. Quebec is a city of superlatives. Here’s another: Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the only North American fortified city north of Mexico where the walls still exist. Within the city walls, Quebec City has the feel of Europe, with its stone buildings and winding cobblestone streets. Founded in 1608 as an outpost for France, Quebec City is considered to be the cradle of French civilization in North America. Perhaps the city's best known landmark is the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, the legendary 19th century castle turned hotel. With sweeping views overlooking the St. Lawrence River, the hotel stands sentinel over the city from its hilltop post at Cap-Diamant. After checking in, stroll Quebec City's lovely streets, flanked by boutique shops and restaurants. Just outside the Fairmont, step aboard the Funicular to travel between the hotel and the charming shopping street Rue Petit-Champlain. Or exit the hotel in the other direction to head outside Old Quebec's city gate and stroll along Rue Saint-John. Be sure to visit Erico, a popular chocolate shop just outside the old city walls. You could spend a couple of days strolling the streets of Quebec City, but don't leave until you've rented a car or joined a tour to get to ile d'Orleans, less than 30 minutes away from the city center. The island is famous for its farms, strawberry fields, orchards and woodlands. Be sure to visit the Chocolaterie de l'ile d'Orleans, a chocolate factory situated in a 200-year-old ancestral house. Stop in at Forge a Pique-Assaut, where Guy Bel, a world renowned craftsman in wrought iron, demonstrates traditional forging; and Domaine Steinbach Cidrerie et Relais gourmand, a 30-acre estate that operates a biologically controlled apple orchard and an early-day vinegar and cider factory. On your return to Quebec City, stop at Montmorency Falls, one and a half times higher than Niagara Falls. Ride the cable car to the top and walk across the bridge overhanging the falls. Back at the Chateau Frontenac, dinner is only a short walk away. Make your way across Place d'Armes to Restaurant Gambrinus for Italian and French cuisine served by friendly staff in a charming setting as you gaze out the window at North America's most European city.

*******LouisvilleChevy**** New Chevy Traverse Louisville KY Chevrolet Announces the All-New 2009 Traverse New Chevy Traverse Louisville KY New Crossover Features Bold Styling, Sophisticated Details and Best-in-Class Fuel Economy from a Direct-Injected 3.6L V-6 CHICAGO - Introduced at the Chicago Auto Show, the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse is an expressively styled, well-equipped crossover that gives customers people-hauling and cargo-carrying capability typically found in larger SUVs. With styling cues inspired by the acclaimed '08 Chevy Malibu, the Traverse delivers refined details with strong proportions and the bold front-end appearance found on all new Chevrolets. Traverse will start production in the third quarter of 2008 at GM's Spring Hill, Tenn. manufacturing facility. "We think the Traverse is the right vehicle at the right time," said Ed Peper, Chevrolet general manager. "It has great looks, utility and safety, with a driving experience typically found in smaller vehicles. But it delivers this with three rows of seating - including a third row that fits adults - and class-leading cargo space. The Traverse is following the formula that is bringing Chevy back to a new generation of consumers - great styling, loads of class-leading features and tremendous value." The '09 Traverse is offered in LS, LT and LTZ models, in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. Product highlights include: * Distinctive design that highlights the new face of Chevrolet * Optimized aerodynamics that enhance fuel economy and reduce wind noise * Four-wheel independent suspension system * StabiliTrak electronic stability control system * Family of 17-, 18- and 20-inch wheels * Second-row Smart Slide seat feature, for easy access to the third-row seats * Rear-seat entertainment system with second-row controls * Six standard air bags, including side curtain air bags that deploy over all three seating rows * OnStar with Turn by Turn Navigation and Direction Download (with navigation system) * XM Satellite Radio with XM NavTraffic, a real-time traffic feature (with navigation system) * Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity * Cruising range of more than 500 miles (800 km) * Exceptional attention to detail and strong build quality New Chevy Traverse Louisville KY Sleek, sophisticated design The Traverse casts a unique profile with a sleek, smooth and flowing design that characterizes the new, global face of Chevrolet. Elements such as chrome-ringed grille inserts, available projector-beam headlamps and large wheel-and-tire combinations highlight the vehicle's finely honed attention to detail. Taut body lines and minimal overhangs convey the image of a smaller vehicle, reinforcing the Traverse's feeling of a large vehicle that drives smaller, while tight tolerances between body components - enhanced by the vehicle's unitized body structure, which enables wraparound, single-piece fascias - emphasize a highly precise build quality. "The Traverse delivers a design that is unexpected from Chevrolet," said Michael Burton, director of design for the exterior. "Many of the details are typical on higher-priced vehicles, but the Traverse brings them to a level that is accessible to more customers." Some of the upscale design details include: * Deep-set grille inserts with chrome-ringed trim * Turn signals integrated in the outside mirrors * Expressive taillamps * Rear spoiler integrated over the tailgate window * Roof rails designed to enhance the sleek appearance when a roof rack is not in place * 20-inch Ultra-Bright aluminum wheels (standard on LTZ models) * Dual, bright exhaust outlets * Panoramic, power-operated sunroof "The headlamps, for example, are more than merely projector beam units; they are integrated in stylized housings that are rich and detailed, reinforcing the high-tech features found throughout the Traverse," said Burton. Like the exterior, the Traverse's interior is a confluence of refined styling, technology and attention to detail. The instrument panel has a dual-cockpit design that is a ...
