Many patients are surprised to discover that having radiation therapy is less difficult than they expected, though the radiation used to damage cancer in your body can also damage healthy cells. Just as the benefits of radiation are gradual, you'll usually see a gradual onset of side effects.
Not everyone experiences side effects of radiation. But by being ready for these reactions and responding quickly, you and your doctor can minimize their effect on your life. Several weeks after treatment ends, the side effects typically go away.
Each individual person will have a unique response, so it's hard to predict exactly what will and won't happen to you. Many of the expected side effects from radiation prove to be misperceptions. Still, if you do have fears about side effects, it can take away your peace of mind.
On these pages, you can read about the kinds of side effects you may experience over the course of your radiation treatment:
lowered white blood cell counts

Your lymphatic system is a network of organs, vessels and lymph nodes situated throughout your body. Many lymph nodes are located in your head and neck region. Lymph nodes that frequently swell are in this area, as well as in your armpits and groin area.
Swollen lymph nodes are a sign that something is wrong somewhere in your body. When your lymph nodes first swell, you might notice:
Tenderness and pain in the lymph nodes
Swelling that may be the size of a pea or kidney bean, or even larger in the lymph nodes
Depending on the cause of your swollen lymph nodes, other signs and symptoms you might have include:
Runny nose, sore throat, fever and other indications of an upper respiratory infection
General swelling of lymph nodes throughout your body — which may indicate an infection, such as HIV or mononucleosis, or an immune disorder, such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis
Hard, fixed, rapidly growing nodes, indicating a possible tumor

Watching the 2004’s Punisher, starring Thomas Jane, I began recalling how much I loved this movie when I was a kid. But as time went on, as much as I hate to admit it, the taste of the punisher has kind of faded away for me.
But if there’s one thing from the whole film that stood the test of time then it’s most definitely the incredibly powerful performance by Thomas Jane as Frank Castle AKA the Punisher.
Thomas Jane’s Punisher is mysteriously subtle, silent and intriguing in every scene. The way he carries himself throughout the film makes you wanna watch it till the end because you can genuinely feel the pain that this character bears in the story and you can’t help but know how the arc of this character will play out.
Now more than a decade later, we got another great performance by John Bernthal as the punisher in Netflix’s hit series Daredevil and even though John Bernthal hit all the right chords of brilliant acting, it never really became as memorable as the performance by Thomas Jane.

Today I'm going to answer the question:
does correcting your posture help with chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a painful, exhausting and life consuming condition and there
are not a lot of answers for people who have this and other kinds of chronic pain.
In fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions the body becomes hypersensitive. For example, as you're watching this video you're not thinking or feeling your left knee. Why? because one of the biggest things that the brain does is turn off or inhibit a lot of the info coming in.
This is a good thing. Imagine being aware of everything touching your skin, everything around you, every smell, imagine experiencing every possible sensation every moment of of every day.
That might not be a perfect example, but that's kinda what fibromyalgia is like. They feel things that the rest of us just don't.
What does this have to do with posture? The part of our brain that keeps our head erect is the same part of the brain that inhibits pain and other sensations.
When we do things to improve posture we improve the body's ability to inhibit pain and thus improve fibromyalgia and chronic pain.
Thanks for watching.

Fungal infections can affect any part of the body. Fungi are normally present in and on the body alongside various bacteria. When a fungus begins to overgrow, you can get an infection.
Onychomycosis, also called tinea unguium, is a fungal infection that affects either the fingernails or toenails. Fungal infections normally develop over time, so any immediate difference in the way your nail looks or feels may be too subtle to notice at first.
Also known as onychomycosis and tinea unguium, nail fungal infections are the most common diseases of the nails, making up about 50 percent of nail abnormalities. Fungus is normally present on the body, but if it overgrows, it can become a problem.
Both fingernails and toenails are susceptible to infection, which usually appears as discoloration and thickening of the nail, and crumbling edges. The condition most commonly occurs in toenails.
Fungal infection of nails (tinea unguium) is common. The infection causes thickened and unsightly nails which sometimes become painful. Medication often works well to clear the infection but you need to take medication for several weeks.
A lymph node that is rapidly growing over one to two days has a different cause and treatment than generalized swelling of lymph nodes that occurs over a few months. Tell a doctor about any rapidly growing nodes at the time of examination because this helps establish a diagnosis.
Standard treatment for swollen lymph nodes may include pain relievers and medicine to lower a fever, such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and acetaminophen (Tylenol). Home remedies such as warm compresses and elevation may help reduce and resolve swelling.
If the cause of the swelling is infection, the doctor may prescribe antibiotics or antiviral medications.
If there is a localized pocket of infection (abscess), it may need to be drained by cutting open the skin, draining the infected fluids, and then filling the opening with packing.
For swelling due to malignancy, the treatment may involve surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.
If a person has an immune disorder, he/she may be prescribed medication to help with the disease.
Swollen Lymph Nodes Self-Care at Home
If a person has symptoms of a cold or other minor infection for which they may or may not take antibiotics, it takes about two weeks for the nodes to return to normal size. No specific treatment is needed.
If the nodes are small (less than 2 cm or 3/4 of an inch), are in the groin or under the chin, and you are a young adult, this is considered normal.
Children tend to have a more active lymphatic system, so their nodes may feel enlarged.

Known for her unique soulful vocals and relatable lyrics, UK singer/songwriter Lucy-May announces the release of her new single, ‘Counting The Days’ on 11 August, the lead track to be taken from her highly anticipated follow-up second album, out this Autumn. Her debut single ‘Paper Heart’ reached Radio 2 playlist in 2013 and her debut album ‘Whirlwind’ proudly boasted the highly sought after ‘Highly Recommend’ position at HMV. Now with a complete catalogue of fresh original material in the shape of her follow-up album and a UK tour planned for the Autumn, Lucy-May is back with a sound which surpasses anything she’s ever done before.
Deep, rich and deliciously soulful, ‘Counting The Days’ is the first single from Lucy-May’s forthcoming album and serves up a mouth-watering slice of chilled soul/pop heaven, written by Lucy-May and Greg Fitzgerald. A semi-biographical track about love-loss, ‘Counting The Days’ was written from the raw emotions felt when Greg’s wife died in 2016, running in tandem with Lucy-May’s relationship break down. Both faced with different reasons for love-loss, but left with the same bitter, painful scars which found them counting the days since love went from their lives. Unable to actually ‘speak’ about their pain, but knowing that their emotions were mirrored in each other, the pair poured their heart wrenching loss into song. Laying bare the rawness of that pain for all to see, Lucy-May’s stunning vocals convey a pure emotion and sentiment that’s nothing short of nerve tingling.
