In this episode of EXPLORING NEVADA youll take an undercover journeyto discover the underwear secrets of fashionable women living during Victorian times in Nevada. With fashion-history expert Jan Loverin as guide, youll travel to historic Bowers Mansion in Washoe Valley for the inside scoop on how a genteel lady of the times (as re-enacted by Paulette Grune of Sparks) donned her corset, hoop skirt and other unmentionables. Then youll get a private view of the genuine artifacts which are safeguarded at the Nevada State Museums Marjorie Russell Clothing and Textile Research Center in Carson City, where Loverin oversees the study and preservation of thousands of items of clothing used by Nevadans over the past two centuries. The Center houses more than 10,000 artifacts ranging from the 19th century to current-day fashions, and includes such items as the Inaugural Ball gowns of Nevadas First Ladies, hats and shoes, mens and military wear, as well as items from the Nevada Historical Society and the University of Nevada School of Home Economics. The Center is named for former First Lady Marjorie Guild Russell, whose father, Judge Clark Guild, started the Nevada State Museum in 1939. It is open by appointment to the public. For more information, call 775.687.6173. The video features period music performed by Sparks Little Theater for the Nevada Womens History Project 2002 conference, at Pipers Opera House in Virginia City . *******nevadaculture****/

Many thanks to my super awesome friend Kevin Chung - *******www.youtube****/user/TheEvilCow1 - and Ryan Yu! This is our little medley of songs representative of the different time periods music has traversed through. We know this may not be the most historically accurate, but we mainly chose songs that would transfer well to solo violin and cello, taking inspiration from groups such as String Fever and Igudesman and Joo. We also performed this same medley at AJ Rafael's Music Speaks 2012 as the winner of his audition contest. Hope you guys enjoy our video/music, and special brownie points to anyone who can name all the songs we used ;) Albert Chang - Violin Kevin Chung - Cello Ryan Yu - Videographer 0:09 - Scotland the Brave 0:25 - Canon - Johann Pachelbel 0:52 - Eine Kleine Nachtmusik - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart 0:57 - Symphony no. 5 - Ludwig van Beethoven 1:04 - In the Hall of the Mountain King - Edvard Grieg 1:22 - Also Sprach Zarathustra - Richard Strauss 1:32 - In The Mood - Glenn Miller 1:46 - Let It Be - The Beatles 2:05 - Jaws Theme Song - John Williams 2:14 - Nokia Tune 2:32 - Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson 2:50 - Back In Black - ACDC 3:08 - I Want It That Way - Backstreet Boys 3:27 - Jack Sparrow - Hans Zimmer 3:47 - Secrets - OneRepublic Receive updates on my fanpage. *******www.facebook****/sleightlymusical or Twitter: ********twitter****/THEalbertchang

An audio visual production that sends you back to Bronze age Greece. Stunning Ancirent Greek images and authentic period music will allow you mind to leave the hectic modern madhouse and for an hour commune with the spirit of Helas. If enough intrest is shown in my video I will post the song titles. But...I think people do not much care about Ancient History....Just us History buffs...
