It’s a toilet powered by human waste. Japanese toilet manufacturer Toto has invented the ‘Toilet Bike Neo’, a motorcycle powered entirely by poop.
The bike runs on bio-gas, which converts human waste harvested directly from the rider.
And the bike can do much more. Spoon & Tamago outlines what else the super bike can do.
“It uses residual light imagery to write messages in the air as it zooms by ... It can also play music to entertain spectators. Finally, the toilet actually talks.”
And Toto isn’t done yet. According to Wired UK the bike comes with its own unique helmet.
“The best part of the whole project is the motorcycle helmet which has been adorned with a Mr Whippy-style curled turd shape -- the motorcycle equivalent of a bonnet ornament.”
Ok...that’s all kinda weird. Especially for those who don’t want to drop a number two while riding their bike - or wear a turd on their head. Death and Taxes gets down to the nitty gritty.
“How much waste does it really take to power this bike? Can one person really provide enough fuel? Will I get better mileage if I eat a burrito before my road trip?”
Now before you start dreaming of a pit-stop free road-trip, Gawker has some sobering news.
“...though powered by biogas, a human cannot drive and poop simultaneously while on this bike. Or, like, if they did, it might not work out that well.”
The bike is currently on a 600-mile tour of Japan, visiting Kobe, Kyoto, and Tokyo.
